But people can't understand the simple difference between latria and dulia and they just repeat the same nonsense. A well-educated Catholic knows that Jesus is God, and that Mary is His Mother. So a good Catholic does not worship Mary because he does not consider her divine. It's that simple. "Oh, but prayers" Yes and? Prayer is not a form of worship but of communication. “But why not only Jesus?" It doesn't make much difference. Mary is another means to Christ. Marian devotion is purely Christological because Mary has no power that does not derive from her Son. Mary is venerated because she gave birth to Christ. Therefore, to venerate Mary is to venerate Christ, since Christ is the reason for veneration. Besides, Mary is closer to God than us so she can reach graces more easily than us. There is no opposition to praying to both (God and Mary). Don't you ask your friends, if you are a Christian, to pray for you? The logic is the same.

Explanation for the Lutheran joke: The ELCA is a "progressive" church that claims to be Lutheran. Although historically the ELCA was created by a merger of Lutheran churches, their doctrine no longer resembles anything confessed by the Book of Concord (which is a collection of confessions by early Protestants, and the guiding work of confessional Lutheran churches to this day). @@2411509igwt Step1: Define terms like "soverign", "elect", etc to mean what Calvinists tell you they mean. Step 2: Read the Bible where these words are present. Therefore the Bible teaches Calvinism. Notice, however, that you could make the Bible teach absolutely anything via this methodology. If you let the Bible itself define its terms via context then you cease to read Calvinist theology into scripture. Just as one example of the Bible clearly teaching something contradictory to Calvinism, look at how God goes out of His way to make sure that none of us are tempted to sin beyond our ability to resist. This contradicts Calvinism in two ways. The first is fairly obvious that it implies we have the capacity to resist sinning, whereas Calvinism teaches that everything we think, will, and do is pre-determined by God. The second is that as Calvinism teaches that our every thought, will, and action was decided by God that means all of our sin is too. Beyond the whole point of that making God the author of evil, that would mean that God not only doesn't make it so we are not tempted by sin beyond our ability to resist as the Bible says, but it would mean that instead God actually makes us sin and prevents us from having the ability to resit doing that sin. The Bible is chalk full of teaching that if you try to apply your Calvinism consistently would make the Bible into total nonsense. The Bible flat out doesn't each determinism. The early Christian church didn't teach any form of determinism until Augstine, and Augstine only taught determinism because of the influence the Gnosticis had over him as he was one for many years.
@@MikeHunt-zy3cn The question of when Anglicanism came to be is complicated. The church that was prior to Henry's rejection of Rome and after was the exact same. The same clergy, the same parishioners, the same liturgy(at first), the same beliefs. It was in perfect continuity. It is for that reason we consider ourselves as a branch of the church that can be traced back to Christ and the apostles, one that simply came to openly reject the claim of authority that the Pope made of himself. That's our view at least Even if one were to reject it, Henry is not as obvious a starting point as portrayed. After his death, and the death of his son Edward, his daughter Mary took over. Mary returned the church to submit to the Pope, in every way the Church of England under Mary was Roman Catholic. If Henry did start something, it died under Mary. It was only under Elizabeth that the Church of England came to be seen as a truly separate entity, both in the eyes of Rome and itself, at least officially. The church was still in continuity with itself, with the church under Mary which was in continuity with the church under Henry(but again, by that standard it was in continuity with the church founded by Christ), however never again under Rome You could make the argument that there was liturgical continuity with the church under Henry, as the Elizabethan church returned to the liturgical reforms of Crammer, who certainly was a prominent figure of the English reformation, and the premier theologian of the Edwardian church of England. Thus, depending on how you look at it, although Henry provided a historical back drop, it was either founded by Christ, Elizabeth/the Elizabethen bishops, or by Thomas Cramer

They must not realize alcohol is in grape juice as well. People all throughout history did not have access to safe drinking water or refrigerators so this idea of grape juice doesn't even make sense from a historical perspective. People would preserve food and drinks through a process called fermentation. This allowed society to flourish and live longer. When fermentation occurs, alcohol is produced. So bread also has alcohol in it as well as sauerkraut and so on. This idea that all Christians are called for complete abstinence from alcohol is unbiblical. Im saying this lovingly but the Bible tells us to not talk to dead people. Its necromancy. I think its a bit odd to pray for someone to pray for you too. @@omen4s976 Do you know how often Prots in America ask other people to "pray for them"? Asking for a Saint/Mary's intercession is not "necromancy". Yes and? Prayer is not a form of worship but of communication.

It doesn't make much difference.

The early Christian church didn't teach any form of determinism until Augstine, and Augstine only taught determinism because of the influence the Gnosticis had over him as he was one for many years.

what is the answer?
@@chloverzKing Henry the 8th (iirc) couldn't get a divorce so he made a church. More or less.
That's our view at least
Even if one were to reject it, Henry is not as obvious a starting point as portrayed.
The church was still in continuity with itself, with the church under Mary which was in continuity with the church under Henry(but again, by that standard it was in continuity with the church founded by Christ), however never again under Rome
You could make the argument that there was liturgical continuity with the church under Henry, as the Elizabethan church returned to the liturgical reforms of Crammer, who certainly was a prominent figure of the English reformation, and the premier theologian of the Edwardian church of England.
Thus, depending on how you look at it, although Henry provided a historical back drop, it was either founded by Christ, Elizabeth/the Elizabethen bishops, or by Thomas Cramer

Why does it matter if its wine? The difference between wine and grape juice is wine is fermented. Its still just grapes. Why do we eat crackers instead of human flesh?
They should have told you that there are a few reasons why, 1) They do not want anyone getting drunk with wine. 2) If anyone who is or was an alcoholic, may be tempted to drink some wine, and they do not want them to stumble (Romans 14:13), 3) Anyone who is bothered in their conscience might be offended, and so the pastor does not want to cause anyone to stumble or go against that person's conscience (Romans 14:21). As a baptist it upsets me to no end that other Christian’s refuse to drink wine with me in communion.
In Luke 7:34, Jesus is accused of being a drunk because He drank wine. He obviously never was drunk, but he did drink wine. That said, not everyone should drink. Especially those who are recovering alcoholics or those who cannot drink without becoming intoxicated. Intoxication is in fact wrong.

First: they are sleeping. Jesus hasnt come back for people to start raising from the dead. Second: You dont make ritualistic prayers to and/or assume unbiblical sinlesness of just someone you want to be praying for you.
Im saying this lovingly but the Bible tells us to not talk to dead people. Its necromancy. I think its a bit odd to pray for someone to pray for you too. Since God is the only one who can receive prayers your prayer would go straight to God and you are then basically praying for God to tell mary who is dead to pray for you.
@@omen4s976 Do you know how often Prots in America ask other people to "pray for them"? Asking for a Saint/Mary's intercession is not "necromancy". @@chickensandwich1432so quick question, where exactly does the bible say the virgin mary was anything more then a women who gave a miraculous virgin birth, and went out of her way to call God her savior?
Why is this so true! 😂 Do my church next! (Seventh-Day Adventists)
I've literally been to an orthodox baptism ceremony that kinda looked like this one.
Catholics in any history class: 0:44
We need more
Of these and we need to include other funny sects like non denoms, Ethiopian orthodox, messianic Jews/ Hebrew roots, etc. the pentecostal clips have me on the floor.
Слава Ісусу Христу ☦️
Be Christian:
Every denomination claims that they are the truth.
Be Jewish:
Every denomination after Hasidic/orthodox gets progressively more secular.
Every Jewish sect is progressive. Its just which time period are they progressive to, 1850 or today? None of them are biblical at all.
It's much more legalistic rather than spiritualistic.
Be Muslim:
"AHHH STOP THE CLASSICAL MUSIC IT'S HARAM"
Be Taoism:
Belief in a dao represented by 2 opposite forces, and thier harmony
Actually, I would say that judaism gets MORE spiritual as you go more progressive. Because if you think about it, they have more spiritual, symbolic, and metaphorical interpertations. I mean, after all, we are meant to follow spiritual matter over the pysichal right? So, that's my hot take. (You all have hot takes so I figured I'd give mine)
No one can actually be mad about this video, this is all in good fun and hilarious lol
This was hilarious, thanks for this.
As someone who has half their fam Presbyterian and the other half Catholic 😂 so much truth. I love that us brothers and sisters in Christ can poke fun at ourselves and each other over this 😂❤ God bless y'all
As a baptist the grape juice thing is so true lol. I guess it’s just cause we see it as a more symbolic thing so we do grape juice.
Most Anglicans just don’t think that what Henry VIII or Elizabeth did was relevant
what did Elizabeth do? I know what Henry did (he wanted a divorce because HE couldn't produce a son)
@@potatoheadpokemario1931i think it was made illegal to be a Catholic
@@trevdestroyer8209more or less.
@@potatoheadpokemario1931 She was the person most historians actually see as the first Anglican monarch. Henry is much easier polemically, but by any standard that one would say he is the "founder", you could point to someone who fulfill the same standard even more so
The Church of England in its current polity dates back to Elizabeth I. The Elizabethan settlement was a generally successful attempt to reconcile various competing factions within English Christianity-for example, she styled herself Supreme Governor of the Church of England, not Supreme Head as Henry VIII did. Most Anglicans will say their church dates to St. Augustine of Canterbury, however.
Thats what my baptism footage looks like. I say it builds character lol
Ahaha we need to be able to laugh at ourselves for being so petty sometimes 😂💖
1:00 it’s true. i hate being lied about. it gets old
As a Roman Catholic, i approve of this 😂
This is hilarious!
Hilarious how Tyler1 is wearing a shirt that says "Reformed" on it.
This video is funny and underrated.
Good one
Thank you so much, we are going to do part 2 and another stuffs so please subscribe for more ❤️
as a catholic i do hate it when people say i worship mary😭
The Catholic Church does not worship Mary we've vindicate her
how can you be catholic after everything your church has done, from bruning to killing Christians and worse of all being the little horn, little horn literally means kingdom and vatican is kingdom and dont forget how they got their seat and authority, just read from popes official site vatican va and you will see his blasphemy
@@zhanucong4614 That's like asking "how can you be a German after 1914-1945" or "how can you be an atheist after everything Stalin, Mao Zedong and others have done".
Well stop worshipping Mary then
@@amuffin8038 we dont worship mary dumbazz
At least everyone who isn't Protestant can agree that iconoclasm is just plain stupid!
the best part about being GREEK Orthodox too is we are baptized in olive oil, making us super slippery 😭😭
Episcopalians trying to not build a school and name it after a saint (Impossible challenge):
As a baptist this is exactly what we do
TRUE LOL. As a Catholic, my own brothers and sisters in Christ make me angry by saying we worship multiple gods.
0:34 LOL SO TRUE
Sadly funny
Infants reflexively hold their breath for at least the first year. They can swim instinctively for the first 6 months.
As an LCMS Lutheran I can confirm that ELCA is the bane of our existence lol
1:03 I’m ELCA, Confessional Lutherans hate us 😂
I’m LCMS, almost every Evangelical Lutheran I’ve meet doesn’t like us either 😂
(I’m not trying to be a jerk, it’s just the theological divide is almost as bad as The Great Schism)
I recommend you convert to Christianity. I did some research on your denomination and it turns out they ordinate Clergy who actively partake in and support homosexuality. This is against the word of God and therefore this is a fake denomination aka not Christianity.
