All the teeming chaos of creation? Brought to order. To neutrality. To nothing. I saw your mind as you ran through my prison. You have fought machines and gods. They were mighty? They were finite. I am Infinite. I am nothing.
“You strike this incarnation with all your might… it changes nothing. No matter what form I take, THE END comes for you all!” Jesus although this boss was undoubtedly underwhelming, its speech still gave me chills. Along with the music, it seems like Sonic and friends have learned a lot through this journey. Sonic learned not to be too cocky and overconfident, and grew as our lovable and dependable hero. Tails grew not to be a coward or scared dummy, and as a relatable character, and believes in himself again. Knuckles gained his courage and heroism back, and plans to explore the world around him. Amy realized that her passionate nature isn’t something to tarnish over her idol, and she continues to be a great role model to others. Eggman, although Sonic’s enemy, learned something himself through the events on Starfall Island. He knew what Sage had to do, and wasn’t going to waste her time, although he wants otherwise. The doctor’s heart then grew three sizes that day. Sage learned that family isn’t what’s in your bones or blood. It’s the friends and relatives you meet along the journey of life. And we, as Sonic Fans, learned to appreciate what we have, and not fight over a fresh start from the series. We lived and learned, we saw into his world, and we realized there were endless possibilities for the series as of now. This is the end for now, but no matter what, through all the trials and tragedy, through the story started anew, you won’t be afraid. Because I’m with you…
DANG listen to this song and reading this I'm getting freaking chill's down my back and my arm and my legs I'm surprised no one is reading this right now. This is like poetry and it's being read by the greatest poetry riter of all times
The breakdown at 1:17 gave me chills. I liked this boss more than the one before it, but it's pretty clear Sonic Team used up what little time they had on actually making sure Frontiers worked conceptually. I'm glad we have some DLC coming that might help fix things up a little.
Holy piss, I remember watching you guys’ stuff when I was in high school. That DLC ended up being absolutely amazing in terms of story content, but it was hard enough to make me cheat to finish it. Not sure who made Sonic Team mad, but whatever they did must have been bad.
I kinda like the fact the boss is called "The End", represents the end of existence, and its theme sounds like video game credits music. Plus the fact it is a moon could be a reference to how most older games would pan up to the sky after the credits would finish rolling.
This boss is amazing and overhated in my opinion. The moon represents death and is different in different people's perspective. In other words, the boss looks like the moon to us, but look different in Sonic and Sage's vision.
Even if you ignore its design (and yes it sucks, don't care what reason they came up with, a purple rock that slowly rotates and does nothing else is a horrible boss design) the fight was incredibly lackluster. I liked that it was finally a challenge, but re-using the hacking mini game as the true final boss fight was a major letdown. Final bosses are supposed to be the ultimate test of the skills you learnt over the game. Imagine if the final boss of a Mario game was just the slot machine mini-game from Mario 3D World?
@@100organicfreshmemes5 I don't know man, fighting the fucking moon is kinda badass. And also, considering how rushed the final arc of Frontiers is, it's already very obviously clear why this fight is just the hacking minigame again. As much as I dislike the fight, I think the final boss being the only one with no lyrics is actually pretty genius. Combined with the more sombre tone compared to the other boss themes it really drives the emotion. Unfortunately there's obviously some story missing because the devs didn't have enough manpower for them to realize their vision, so whatever emotional climax there might have been isn't there and falls flat.

My captors built a whole reality to contain me. My captors burnt their souls away to fuel their engines. And you? You glitter. You fly above me like a gnat. I am inevitable. I cannot be denied.
