One of the fitness trainers where I go to the gym mentioned the kali stick. He said it is the famous Filipino martial arts. I come from Manila but never heard the kali stick. My gym/sparring mate, age 26, is interested to learn kali stick training so I thought a new skill to acquire for my age, 74. We could not find a training centre. We decided to search for RUclips. Besides learning the 12 strikes, ever so pleased to come across your disarming training.
I live in London & Surrey County, UK for 44 yrs. The older I become the more fitness I do such as body building (weight training, using dumbbells, stretching and gym equipments, garden volunteering and badminton, my passion. I had 8 yrs training in Go Kan Ryu (Japanese martial arts, non-contact) and left in 2009 with a brown belt. I am looking forward to learn 12 Kali stick strikes, twirls, angles of attacks and disarm. My message here, the more you look after your body as you grow older to prevent diseases and ailments that will make you bedridden or chair bound. Life is more exciting by doing active challenging activities until you drop dead!
Very good to know about this..! I am Cambodian who used to get training about Yuthakrom Khmer.. But. I heard something about Arnis Then I searched about it. Finally, I see and hope I could learn something from this video..!
Hi Sareth! Sorry it took me so long to see your comment. Please forgive me. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and share your comment. Let me know if you have any questions about the 12 strike zones.
You’re supposed to be much closer on the disarms. You’re supposed to jam the strike before it passes their shoulders. Remy Presas would be shaking his head right now.
right... the sticks purpose is to demonstrate how to counter or attack the sword or bolo in Filipino term .. a split seconds skirmish.. everything is done... its a lethal martial arts.. only few responsible filipinos hv been taught with that deadly combat practices. ...
This is where you can tell that modern arnis isnt thinking about bladed weapons as much as say Ilustrisimo style. Against that style youd be losing many limbs lol.
+American Modern Arnis What I mean is looking at a few of these youd be grabbing the tip or edge of the sword. (1 and 7 would have you losing your fingers) Most are okay, but a few of those would not work against a sword :)

Wow amazing
You are very good i am in VietNam please send a link to teach me , thank you
Amazing♥️♥️♥️
nbrs 1,3,4,5 ,11, done incorrectly and number 12 isn't the official disarm- you're doing one of the two alternatives.
On one hand I'm glad this foolery has 0 traction, but at the same time am kind of upset there aren't enough troll comments lol
You'll be dam stupid if you grab a bade weapon from the blade side. Grabbing a bladed weapon is done by the handle or the wrist area for control
Yeah, the way he swings that bla... oh wait, he's holding a stick!
