  • I wanted to build a new rocking chair, and figure out the best fit and dimensions by creating a full-size, working prototype. Built mostly of plywood and pocket screws, this allowed me to quickly construct this chair, test, disassemble and fine-tune the fit.

    Nice video.
I have been wanting to do a rocking chair for my wife since the birth of our twin babies.
Two children later, I still need to do that rocking chair to thank her for her hard work.
Thank you for showing me a path. I am watching you from Haiti.

    - I LUV Rocking chairs. Thanx 4 sharing the making of one. Particularly like the oversized rockers. How do you increase he level of 'rock' ??? Many rockers these days don't actually 'rock' unless you push with your feet. Do you have actual plans for this one ???

Thanks! And sorry, I never got around to creating plans for this one, definitely should. Level of rock could be increased with a tighter radius I'd think, maybe a 38" radius for more than this one.

What were the dimensions of the plywood you used on the rockers? 4'x8"?

Mine works too. I used woodprix plans and build it without any problems.
