Dave should publish more of these type videos and get sponsors in addition to getting funding for his youtube videos. He's a very gifted woodworker and artisan with skills which might not be around much longer.
Steve Wong has never been righter! Check out Dave's shiny new instagram account at instagram.com/silvertreewoodworking/ and then buy a chair! Also, does anyone have twitter? if so, tweet at blazeking and tell them to get an instagram account so we can tag them and offer our services as brand Ambassadors! #jeffanddaveonfireforblazeking #daveishotterthanablazeking
Congrats on raising your children, they are beautiful young women that can withstand whatever life will throw at them, far superior to education at public schools, also would love to see a BLAZE KING sponsership for these two off grid familys!
I think the millions come from us who share with f/b & friends around the world.. I've shared these video's with several hundred friends,, so the ball has started rolling & picking up size & speed.. I've had feedback & thank you's from people who watched & get the same heart felt passion these folks give.. Real people ,, not hollywood,, not holyweirds,, family & friends having fun!! cameras & settings/ time,, it will come!! 15//20 minute vid 2 to 4 times a week and they will fly.. good luck,, aloha....
I have always used mirror for overhead welding and etc. But Dave's# drilling trick caught me off guard and blew my mind....You guys Rock....and those young ladies are very attentive and capable in their learning..❤ the hashtag is for Jeff.
Well done Dave, that is a traditional workshop, not a power tool to be seen everything is done by hand and loved the digital depth gauge!! great stuff... But the best thing was letting the girls learn this art, those wooden spoons are awesome👍
Some real talent there, Dave! I use to play with wood but used machines to make my kids & baby brother wooden toys when they were young. I made a couple of 5 pc. trains & train tracks, bulldozer, biplane, helicopter, Things like that. Then hand carved some store signs for some of the shops in Albion, Michigan. Like the barber shop with a barber pole on it. The A&W with the A&W Root Bear on it, and Sargents Flowers with roses on it. My exhusband & I made them. Then I also made wedding plaques with a couples hands, putting her ring on and it had flowers and tapered candles in the background, also the couples names and wedding date. I've built things like dog house, chicken coop, and a 4 stall barn with a feed & tack room for my horses. But I've never made furniture.
All of the woodworking turned out fantastic ! Dave is one heck of a tease. I want to tear his butt up with that paddle in the window. P.S. I have a Froe. My Grandaddy showed Me how to use it as a child. I'm a huge fan of vintage tools. They were built so much better then today's excrement.
That is a beautiful chair. Made with the blood, sweat and tears of a friend for a family he loves. Stop the jokes for just a moment and show him the appreciation he deserves. Maybe you did so off camera but I'd like to see it. Girls! Beautiful spoons! Like the chair, they will become more beautiful with use! Love.. NH
Folks you just witnessed the making of a family heirloom. May it be passed down for many generations and keep Dave's memory alive when those who knew him are long gone. Girls you will feed your children rocking in that chair and thank Dave every time!
Dave's job not only provides income but fuel for his stove as well. In the Winter you never see Dave's screw ups, they go right in the Blaze King. It's great to see artisans like Dave keep traditional hand crafted one at a time production, of one of a kind products, alive and well. Dave needs his own channel.
Dave, that chair is beautiful. I have never seen a rocking chair like that....the arms were works of art by themselves. To the spoon makers....great job ladies. Far better than anything I could ever think of doing. And a general comment....in a world where our young people need safe spaces because words hurt boohoo....those Canadian wilderness gals were using razor sharp, high carbon steel implements of death and destruction....and pulling the sharp edges right toward their fingers, hands, and legs....with NO FEAR! No safe spaces needed for those two...or any of the ladies in that family for that matter. Chainsaws, lumber mills, high power rifles, bears and rabid squirrels (are there squirrels in Canada?)....those girls (young women is more correct) are afraid of none of them....but they have respect for those things and use them properly and smartly. I wish we could collect some of their "balls" and inject the safe space wimps with it.
Have to say your two daughters are amazing. The craftsmanship of the spoons they made was phenomenal. Professional-quality all the way. They could make money selling those. Your girls are talented in so many areas. Modern-day pioneer ladies.
I'm finding it difficult to express my appreciation for the skill, time and dedication Dave put into that chair. To me, this type of thing is more artistic than anything in The Louvre. It's nice to know these traditional crafts are not only still alive, but being passed down to another generation. Well done Dave and girls. Great vid Jeff.
You have got to be the luckiest Dad going surrounded by all his girls . You're a wonderful person and you've got a simply lovely family. Stay blessed. CHEERS
I’ve just recently started watching your videos and my husband and I just love your family and what you all do. Thanks so much. Your girls are awesome. 👍🤗🍁🇨🇦
Dave, when someone enjoys his work he doesn't have to boast about it because his face broadcasts the pleasure he gets from it. You are such a man as that. Extremely nice work. Keep on keeping on. Also the girls are on their way to creating beautiful works. Their spoons turned out great.
That is a truly beautiful chair, Dave. Thanks for putting up with Jeff's antics so he could share it with us. The girl's spoons are fantastic, too. You guys have great things going on up there!
I thought is guy was a little off from watching a couple of the older videos. but after seeing the wood working in this video. he has my respect nice work!
Greetings! I always click "like" BEFORE watching, because I am happy to see ALL of you. Dave has become a dear friend I have never met, bringing balance to this channel. Just wanted to say to ALL...Live long and prosper! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for video on Dave. Fantastic chair Dave, I do woodworking and anyone would be proud to make a fin chair of that quality. Excellent video all around. Great spoons also from the girls, impressed.
Glad you took my suggestion 4 weeks ago to have Dave teach the girls some new skills. Dave your craftmanship is a dieing art. Keep up the traditional way of woodworking and teach as many youth as you can. Girls your gonna need more furniture. Better get the sawmill running. Happy New Year to you all and can't wait to see what you have for us all in 2020.
Truly a beautiful chair and I'd expect no less from Dave, but the girls' spoons turned out wonderful; I really liked the grain on both. Congrats to the woodworkers. There's probably a spoon business in someone's future. Thanks. ; )
It’s an awesome work. I loved it. I work as a CEO and a teacher, but I’m also a designer and joiner. I like to make things like it. I learned to work that way. It’s very good to see people like you doing it, living a real life. The way that you teach you girls is very important. Your family is so beautiful. Congratulations! Congratulations Dave! Your chair is very wonderful. I’m from Brazil.
Great job Dave! The girls did a great job on the spoons as well. Need more puppy footage tho. Wishing Gridlessness and friends all the Best in the New year! -karen
Dave; I am so pleased that you are making these things and using hand-tools. I was trained as a cabinetmaker but have long gone to the dark side and need joules to do my things. You are a very patient man as well as a maker of beautiful furniture. Your pieces are worth whatever you can charge and I wish I was a richer (financially) man. Chapeau, mon brave. Oh, and the spoons? Fantastic!
Amazing video and worth viewing multiple times. You are truly blessed with well mannered daughters who probably know more about everything then the average kids brought up in the city. I envy you and you r life style and in another time and place I would have lived my life in a fashion similar to yours. Please keep the videos coming...you guys rock!
Love how Dave does it all by hand lots of work but he does so good! Love the tredle lathe too! I'm also trying to do wood working with hand tools finally getting them all sharp that's the important part.
Walking into Dave’s woodworking shop was like a trip back in time. The cob and the beautiful door, shavings on the floor, the Blaze King, the tools and I absolutely LOVED the music playing in the background. It set the mood perfectly! Incredible job on the chair Dave. A work of art. I hope you enjoy building chairs...you are going to be a busy man. Thank you Jeff for sharing Dave with us :))
Well done Dave! Beautiful work! You are a true craftsman, a fact made even more apparent by Jeff’s whimsical and somewhat distracting 😉 commentary! I’m sure Sarah and Abbie are thrilled with their gift!
Nice job on the woodworking projects everyone. Thanks Dave for instilling not only your knowledge of woodworking in others, but you get to share with them a feeling of pride and accomplishment of their finished work. That is something that will last a lifetime and can be passed on by them as well. Both the spoons and the knowledge. Call of Duty won't do that for them!! Happy Holidays and keep the videos coming.
Excellent woodworking! And the girls did a great job on the spoons! You can never top the look and quality of hand made wood items like these. As a woodworker myself, I absolutely love that the young ones can learn from a Master such as Dave... Thanks for Sharing. New subscriber. Looking forward to future videos.

The Best off Grid Family by far.
THIS CHAIR IS SO NICE DAVE SHOULD HAVE HIS OWN TV SHOW VERY FEW PEOPLE HAVE THIS MUCH TALENT
That wood shop is so cozy. And that he does it with mostly hand tools is incredible, takes patience!
My favorite channel so far ❤️
I think Blaze King should give you a winters supply of wood. You 2 are hilarious. But that makes the show interesting.
When Rose talks to Dave is like Rose talking to Jeff! A couple of clowns! I love this channel.
Dave is a wonderful craftsman! And a great friend
the herb in the shopping bag hanging from Dave's ceiling is why you guys can endure the long winters. gotta love it. love your videos
