I went to University of Memphis for a year and went to none of those places. Knew of them all of course. Memphis is a lot like Nashville (hometown) in a way. The real city is not at all the tourist spots. People from Nashville don't hang out on Broadway. These days locals straight up avoid downtown like the plague. It's just a facade. Fabricated like the country music pop stars that also in no way represent the real Nashville music scene. You mentioned cranes in Nashville. Every time I go downtown i see something I have never seen before. Boom town for sure. My favorite TN city besides my hometown is Chattanooga.
I guess what I liked about this interview concerns how the interviewer had some physical experience of the towns/cities Baker inhabited and developed her self-musically and otherwise. I would have loved some discussion of Baker’s sense of how her music-tone, rhythm, pitch, melody, especially in respect to the guitar-relate to her emotions, as well as cultural, sexual, and political sensibility
i could just listen to her talk forever!
Julien is by far and away one of the most pure and brilliant human beings, and I'm so grateful to you for having her on your show!
40 full min of JB. God bless humanity
She's so genuine and loving :)
I feel like JB is constantly fighting the urge to open this MF pit up
Honestly based on her lyrical content, she could make some sick Angsty Screamo music
@@diegochavezisntmanam Apparently before making the music see does now, she was in a metalcore band so that's pretty sick
A trick: you can watch series at InstaFlixxer. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
