GREETINGS EARTH MAN: I think I saw on the Harry Nilsson documentary here on RUclips that he was a friend of the Beatles who considered his to be one of the best if not the best male voice in contemporary music. Of course, they were drinking buddies. From what I understand he did not perform publically. I thought your reaction was dope.
Word of advice: go past Nilsson Schmilsson and Son of Schmilsson. Not many people know how much he actually accomplished in his singing career, besides just the hits. He has a very versatile and well put-together discography that a lot of people have missed. Nice video!

When you said there's something almost unsettling when he goes for those high notes, reminds me of something percussionist Ray Cooper said (I'm paraphrasing) --- "It's like he's a trapeze artist and you're cringing a bit because you're just not sure he's going to make it to that high note." I get that feeling every time I listen to the song.

This song was I believe written by Bad Finger the group or for them. However most people have heard the Mariah Carey version which cannot hold a candle to this version by Harry Nilsson. You feel every emotion in his rendition whereas Mariah Carey's rendition is just too shrill.
