    • @John-X
      @John-X 2 года назад +1

      @@DontDrinkthatstuff I'm really new to the groyper movement. Been watching AF for a few months now. I'm the same age as Nick, & i gotta say, after years of watching con inc and shitty tim pool vids *_this is what I've been looking for._* The last time I believed the msm on anything was the Covington Kids shit-show, but even though I only slightly believed them with a heaping pile of salt, of course, it turned out to be totally fake.
      Now the last time I believe Con inc on any character assaults is the slander of Nick. Everyone I trusted said Nick was just another guy like Richard Spencer, so I never even bothered to hear what he had to say. Turns out they hate each other and con inc doesn't even know anything about Nick.
      You'll never believe who made me actually check out what he had to say though: Michael Knowles.
      He defended Nick several times on his show after the no fly list (I think that guy is way more based than he lets on because of who his employers are, his views align much more with Nick's than the rest of the DW crew...then again, he does hang out with Ted Cruz :/), so i decided to look up some interviews with Nick here and there, like the JLP interview (hilarious), & eventually the Elijah Schaffer interview.
      Then when Tim Pool had the CEO of Getter on I decided, "Ok, I'm now officially watching Nick's show." then I finally found the movement I can actually get behind, been watching ever since (i watched the whole 8-hour stream).
      To Future-President Fuentes, _o7_

      @EvanReilly. 2 года назад +2

      @@John-X I much prefer Knowles. Nick is a little too crude for me. I perceive Nick as destructive for the conservative movement as he ruthlessly attacks the main conservative influences. Further more on a daily wire ‘backstage’ the entire daily wire crew, including Shapiro, described their issue with Fuentes to be his inherent destructiveness and not a belief that he is a racist. You can’t really blame them for disliking Fuentes when he called out Shapiro and Matt Walsh. He also attempted to sabotage Michael Knowles at one point.

      Geopolitics generally isn't difficult to understand. If you want to know more about a big topic just observing a reputable news source is enough. You can then supplement yourself with more info with history documentaries or Wikipedia. For Ukraine the BBC has done tonnes of podcast stuff but there'll be plenty of relatively unbiased news outlets. Financial ones are often good too. The best part is that geopolitics doesn't really change much so once you know the basics the new stuff makes sense really quickly.

      @@Crispman_777 I would say that is definitely the worst way to learn about international relations. The media is full of poor framing, sensationalism, propaganda etc., and journalists covering popular topics, like Ukraine is right now, are often not experts on said topic. Also, avoid people who call it "geopolitics" as they generally don't understand it well either. IR Theory books are not that inaccessible to a layman, and reading a handful will give you a framework of how to make sense of all the crazy stuff you're seeing on these "reputable" news sources. Even just going through the major IR theories on wikipedia will help a lot.

    • @Crispman_777
      @Crispman_777 2 года назад +2

      @@user-ej3jy6eg6h Well this is why I recommended the BBC as their coverage is _typically_ very trustworthy with loads of real experts on to explain stuff when it comes to international reporting. There's sites that measure political bias and trustworthiness of news outlets too if you're worried about that and you don't know where to look. I don't think IR Theory is necessary to understand what's happening on a surface level and reading that is a tall order for many. Like I wouldn't suggest political theory to anyone asking "How do I understand the news?"

    My question is why do 2 random dudes debating on their streams have more insight into geopolitics, whose streams are not even geopolitical, than the talking heads being paid tens of millions of dollars, whose sole purpose is to know and 'inform' the average person.
    Furthermore they can sum up points in 15 seconds that would take BBC an entire hour to do. They can both recite the entire history of Russia and Ukraine, in detail, condensing all major points into a minute or two of dialogue without detracting from the overall picture. These are the types of people who should be corresponding with tv networks.

Also, ”If NATO was a threat to Russia, instead of a defensive alliance, then this was the perfect excuse for NATO to attack Russia and start WW3, yet here we are.” This is a terrible time for NATO to attack Russia because MAD (Mutual assured destruction) still exists. If NATO were to encircle Russia and have the ability to place more and more new and developing nukes (hypersonic) all around their borders at will, MAD might cease to exist and first-strike capability-a preemptive surprise attack employing overwhelming force-could come to exist, since Russia has a shortened time to decide to push the button or not. This would then be the perfect time for NATO to attack Russia. Radar ghosts or glitches could mean nuke launches. NATO doesn't really even have to invade to be a deadly threat to Russia.

      how tf, nick didnt even stick TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC OF DEBATE, most of the ENTIRE time! destiny even brought it up in the closing!! and lets just say that destiny was on the defensive mostly (which isnt fuckin true LMAO), that doesnt determine if someone won a debate. who ever is more wrong, and whoever is more right are bigger determining factors in who won, than who was on the defensive and who wasnt.
      HOW can someone win a debate when they didnt even stick TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC of the main debate most the time?
      also, they were being respective to each other for the most part, in letting the other fully say there side of one thing (so on and so forth), and destiny kept his sayings (including rebuttals and counter arguments) shorter than nick, and that doesnt mean in ANY WORLD that destiny is on the defensive lol. nor does that make him lose this debate either.
      Overall, i think that destiny won the actual debate part of this, and the other shit they were talking about, didnt even seem to ascertain to the main debate, like when nick was saying GO RUSSIA!! I SUPPORT YOU! (and for destiny, it would be his responses to nick on those off topic segments) but of course that is opinionated, im not saying thats fact whatsoever, but thats how i felt about it. it was fuckin cool and interesting seeing both sides, i agreed with some of what nick said, and i agreed with basically everything that destiny said. i realize that this overkill, but this is more of an experience for me commenting like this, so sorry for that.

    03:30 🚫 Destiny questions the rationale behind Russia's fear of NATO intervention, emphasizing that NATO countries have not invaded or destroyed Russian forces, but instead, NATO hampers Russia's interference in neighboring countries' politics.
    06:05 ⚖️ Destiny challenges the comparison of NATO interventions to Putin's actions, highlighting instances like the Bosnian War, Syrian Civil War, and Kosovo conflict to illustrate differing contexts and outcomes.
    08:27 🔍 Destiny questions Putin's concerns about far-right movements in Ukraine, pointing out inconsistencies in his arguments and highlighting Russia's implicit support for certain neo-Nazi organizations within its borders.
    09:50 🛡️ Destiny argues that Russia's fear of its neighbors choosing Western alliances should not threaten their sovereignty, emphasizing the importance of nations dictating their own security without external threats.
    11:17 🌍 Destiny discusses the historical context of NATO expansion, focusing on Russia's perspective, emphasizing Russia's objections to NATO's continuous expansion and its role in the current crisis.
    16:05 ⚔️ Destiny highlights provocative actions by the West, including military maneuvers and support for Ukraine's rearmament, leading to escalating tensions with Russia, challenging the narrative of Russia being solely aggressive.
    20:03 🌍 Russia's special operation in Ukraine is reasonable and aligns with its security interests.
    20:59 🛡️ The question of security vs. sovereignty: Russia's influence over Ukraine is vital for its security, leading to the conflict.
    22:50 💬 NATO expansion into Ukraine compromises Russia's security, leading to conflict escalation.
    25:26 🇺🇦 Ukraine's desire to join NATO stems from the security umbrella it provides against Russian aggression.
    28:45 ⚖️ NATO expansion could lead to the deployment of military bases and missiles in Ukraine, threatening Russia's security.
    30:38 🔍 Russia's aggressive actions in Ukraine undermine European security and strengthen NATO solidarity.
    33:29 💰 NATO's expansion and military spending dwarf Russia's capabilities, challenging the narrative of Russia as the sole aggressor.
    37:01 🚀 The discussion around ABM missile platforms and pressure on Ukraine from the West questions the fairness of the comparison between the East and West pressures.
    39:08 🌍 NATO's purpose is to contain Russia, creating a security threat for Russia due to the alliance's expansion and military presence on its borders.
    40:19 🔒 ABM shield and surface-to-surface missiles in Ukraine pose a significant security threat to Russia, potentially undermining mutually assured destruction.
    41:40 🚀 The U.S. pursuit of missile technology and withdrawal from treaties, like the ABM and Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces treaties, escalates tensions and threatens mutual security.
    43:18 🤝 Russia proposed moratoriums on missiles in Europe, but the U.S. did not respond, highlighting a lack of willingness to address Russian concerns diplomatically.
    45:37 🇺🇦 Ukrainian security interests are valid, but NATO expansion raises concerns about encircling Russia, potentially jeopardizing regional stability.
    49:50 🤝 Nato’s expansion on Russia's borders with its military presence and missile systems heightens Russia's security concerns, regardless of the alliance's defensive stance.
    55:03 🎯 NATO expansion prompts Russia to react defensively, as it perceives the alliance's actions as threatening its security, justifying its own strategic moves.
    57:52 🌍 Russia perceives NATO as a threat and believes NATO's goal is to suffocate Russia, leading to conflict over influence in Ukraine.
    59:30 🔍 The conflict in Ukraine boils down to a struggle between two great powers, USA and Russia, competing for neutral ground, demonstrating the clash of empires.
    01:00:23 ⚔️ NATO's expansion and Ukraine's aspiration to join NATO have catalyzed the conflict, with Russia viewing it as a direct threat to its security.
    01:02:56 💥 The realist perspective justifies NATO's expansion, which in turn intensifies tensions and provokes Russia, contributing to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.
    01:07:37 🤯 If Ukraine joins NATO, unresolved issues like Crimea and Donbass could lead to a proxy war, creating a highly volatile situation with potential global implications.
    01:08:47 🔒 NATO's disregard for Russia's security concerns and persistent expansion plans have played a significant role in escalating tensions and the conflict in Ukraine.
    01:16:20 🌍 Realism in international relations argues that states pursue security through capabilities and balance.
    01:17:13 🔍 The presence of an ABM (Anti-Ballistic Missile) shield disrupts the balance of power; Russia views it as a provocation, impacting mutual assured destruction.
    01:17:56 🤝 Both NATO membership for Ukraine and ABM shield development are seen as provocations by Russia, upsetting the balance and confidence in mutual security.
    01:18:39 ⚖️ Confidence between powerful nations comes from offensive and defensive capabilities, treaties, agreements, and buffer states.
    01:19:22 🚀 ABM shield's effectiveness is limited against multiple sophisticated missiles, unlike countering simpler threats like Palestinian bombs.
    01:20:04 🛡️ ABM shield's development, even for different reasons like Iran, disrupts Russia's confidence in mutually assured destruction.
    01:20:47 🔒 NATO's promise not to expand doesn't matter if it's not on paper; Russia questions NATO's intentions and influence in Ukraine.
    01:21:44 🗣️ Russia's influence over Ukraine is natural, but NATO membership disrupts the balance and relies on good faith, which is not a sufficient guarantee for Russia's security.
    01:25:05 🌐 Russia's actions in Ukraine align with great power behavior; arguing that the US doesn't influence weaker states is unrealistic.
    01:26:11 🇯🇵 Comparing Russia's influence in Ukraine with the US influence in Japan isn't equivalent due to different historical, cultural, and geopolitical contexts.
    01:29:47 ☢️ The question of sovereignty: Russia's actions in Ukraine are seen as a violation, while NATO's interventions elsewhere are justified based on conditional sovereignty.
    01:34:06 🌍 Nick argues that Russia's concerns about potential future threats, like Ukraine joining NATO, justify their invasion, challenging Destiny's viewpoint.
    01:36:18 🔍 Destiny questions Nick's claim that Russia seeks to influence countries without military action, citing examples where military action was taken to achieve influence.
    01:39:20 🚨 The discussion turns to the humanitarian impact of the conflict in Mariupol, with Destiny challenging Nick's defense of Russia's actions.
    01:40:54 ⚖️ Nick asserts that Russia's actions in Ukraine are more justifiable than certain US military interventions, highlighting his perspective on global power dynamics.
    01:45:07 🗳️ The conversation delves into the legitimacy of Ukraine's desire to join NATO, with Destiny emphasizing the importance of consent and public opinion in such decisions.
    01:52:27 🇺🇦 The conversation delves into the 2008 Bucharest Summit where NATO recognized Ukraine's aspirations, questioning the legitimacy of later events.
    01:53:09 🇺🇦 Debate highlights the complex nature of Ukraine's self-determination and national sovereignty, challenged by the 2014 coup and subsequent events.
    01:54:32 🇺🇦 Comparison between the Ukrainian coup and hypothetical scenarios in the United States, questioning the legitimacy of the events and government formation.
    01:55:46 🇺🇦 Discussion on the legitimacy of the Ukrainian government post-coup, emphasizing democratic processes and popular support for pro-Western leaders.
    01:56:27 🇺🇦 Debate closes with a disagreement on the norms of debate format and speaker order, leading to an unresolved conclusion.

They aren't directly voted for. You could say Yanukovych was violently recalled and a new president was popularly elected.
      As for Eastern Ukraine and Crimea, that's what we would call a civil war, not a revolution/regime change. This is more like when the US South fought to secede from the Union.

    Nick should've spent more time on the realist argument because that's ultimately why Nick's position is the correct one. Destiny can talk all day about how it's "not right" for Russia to invade Ukraine, but at the end of the day we live in the real world, and the real world consequences of Ukraine trying to join Nato are that Russia will retaliate. The point is that that was ALWAYS going to be the outcome and anyone who knows anything about international relations would have told you that for the past 20 years.

    • @joemamma474
      @joemamma474 2 года назад +1

      That has been adequately challenged, though. It rests on the assumption that Russia wouldn't have otherwise invaded Ukraine and there just isn't a good reason to believe that. Plus it doesn't address whether or not the invasion is justified, which was the point of the discussion. I can say "well serial killers are going to try and kill people" and that is unrelated to the question of whether or not they have a justification to do so.

    11:39 No, not Russia, the Soviet Union. It's baffling to me that there are still political commentators/debater out there that accidentally, or purposefully, use interchangeably Russia and the Soviet Union. Let me clarify the difference: the Soviet Union was a federation of "like minded" nations united in a common cause (fight against capitalism). Russia, like Ukraine, the Baltics, Poland... was one of the many Republics within the Soviet Union. So no, Russia didn't "lose" half its population overnight in 1991: the Ukrainian people were never their people to start with (I'm talking about Soviet Era here, not Imperial Russia). The Soviet Union ceased to be and the Republics that composed it were left to fend for themselves.

      @Zechariah Ahl just saying two people are capitalist is so simplistic. Destinys version of capitalism is the complete opposite to nicks. Nick wants little to no immigration, destiny wants more. Nick wants less social safety nets, destiny wants more large social safety nets. And even on the free speech point you’re wrong because nick doesn’t support Trudeaus use of government to shut down the trucker protest and destiny does. And politically destiny is closer to hasan than nick fuentes I don’t get how that’s hard to understand when destiny literally only votes for democrats and progressives lmao. And if you’re curious to know his reasonable/respectable nick take it’s on his clips on twitch. He thinks nicks activism is respectable not his beliefs or his thought process lmao
