I remember the first time I seen “Boys Don’t Cry”, that movie broke my heart and to find out soon after it was a based on true events my heart was burdened. I remember crying, thinking how could so much happen to someone in just a short time span. How fearful Brandon must have felt remaining in that town knowing his attackers were still free. I don’t think I would have had the courage, may god bless each and every person who was touch by this story, and may this story shed light on crimes against women, and hate crimes against the transgender community, may god bless each of you ,who have never seen their offenders face justice, may god heal that part of your heart that will forever be changed. 💕RIP 🌈Brandon Teena, Lisa Lambert and Phillip Devine

A M A Z I N G ..... great footage and telling of the story....I have seen the movie and I have cried watching it...it was a different world back in the early 90's and "thing's" ways people lived were not as open as now a days (which is sad). I went through a time (2015) where i fell in love with a female but however I would have fallen in love with her even if she were a male...it was not the gender I fell for it was the person her heart that I fell for...Im glad I had the chance to have that experience because I will have NO WHAT IF'S (honestly she was very controlling) and I dont do well with being controlled, however today I love her none the less....we are still friends.... now im rambling..... but how beautiful of the sun to show up right over the area you were filming of the farm house area that is torn down..... kinda a somber video I felt it....I felt the love you gave while making it in respects to Brandon Teena... GOd Bless you Scott.....and keep on keepin on.... Thanks for sharing things that some never heard of and also for the ones that remember the movie/story well......... seems things synced just as the ones that got killed were guiding you ...SUN--RAIN......deep.....very deep.....Much love from the "D".

WeAreTheRest2050 thank you for wanting to here my story. it started when I was a kid I always knew I was different but I didn’t know how. I never felt like anything was real like it was a dream or I was a book character and one day the book would close. I really liked boys toys like cars and things like that. But as soon as I grew older I tried acting like a stereotypical girl. But I wasn’t very happy. In middle school all my friends came out as gay or bisexual and so did I because before that I didn’t really think about it and so I kept going with my life I wasn’t happy I finally figured out why at first I thought I was gender fluid but then realized I was ftm transgender. I had already cut my hair short so that was fine but I came out to my close friends and then some more friends and then finally my mom she didn’t understand still doesn’t she told my dad and he doesn’t understand it either I do not have a proper binder or anything yet but I’m saving up so hopefully one day I can be happier

Although you said that there may be other documentaries with more details of the story, I do not think that they would be able to tell this story with as much emotion and sensitivity that you have shown here. Thank you for battling the elements to bring this story to light. Let's hope that one day people who harbour prejudices against those who have differences are eliminated from society. Everyone has a right to be who they are and not be victimised for it.

Thanks for posting this! I've lived in Omaha for the last 17 years. It's interesting when you live in a certain area the number of people who have connections to a famous case or news event. I have visited Brandon's grave in Lincoln and once dated a guy from Lincoln who went to high school with Teena Brandon/Brandon Teena and his sister Tammy. The guy remembered Tammy more since they were in the same grade. I also once worked with a guy from Beatrice who gave swim lessons in the mid-1990s to Lisa Lambert's then-older toddler son Tanner (the baby who was left screaming and crying in his crib all night long when the murders happened) Back in about 2000 after watching "Boys Don't Cry," I drove an hour from where I lived at the time in southwest Iowa to the farmhouse where the murders happened. It was obviously still standing at that time but at some point over the last 18 years they have torn it down. Not sure exactly when and why - it could have been because of the stigma attached to the place and it just sat neglected and run down by the elements over the years so the property owners just decided to demolish it. Such a sad story but at least the scumbag killers are serving their due time!

Unfortunately I only met one woman but she lives far far away now . As for the house I believe it was torn down only within the last year or so because two years ago I was planning on going and you could still see the house on google maps . This story is heartbreaking. I watched the movie based on it, Boys Don't Cry, and cried my eyes out. I love that you come from a place of love and positivity. This real life tragedy could happen to anyone that is different, not just transgender. I personally think life is made more beautiful and fascinating by our differences and that should be celebrated. Unfortunately, so many people are threatened by differences and set out to destroy what they can never understand and don't want to. You did a fine job as usual, with respect, love and with reverence for the victim.

Thank you.. You are a truly great guy. I admire the fact that you were so touched by this story that you actually went out there and took the time to tell the story. I wish Brandon Teena would of gotten this much support while he was still with us.

Thank you so much man what’s your name and where are you from?I’m flattered that you’re binge watching my channel rn that’s really awesome. This video was one I planned on doing for a long time and it was surreal being there and actually covering it. These are hard subjects to film and talk about but something in me drives me to do them. So I very much appreciate your kind words✌🏽✌🏽

Brandon didn’t deserve what happened to him. I’ve watched Boys don’t Cry and the documentary that was made and it’s heart breaking.
