    These bags look pretty fiddly to mount - all manner of straps, pins, sliders, etc.
    I did a lot of research on soft bags for my GSA and found the Kriega OS system smokes this set up. The backplates needed for the OS bags are extremely light and strong - if you hit hard enough to damage the plates to the point of making mounting the bags impossible chance are the bike is no longer rideable.
    They're held on by just two great straps, and you can easily mount another three bags to each pannier. The panniers themselves are very lightweight, look far sleeker than these Evobags, and tough as nails. My bags look practically new (Hypalon construction) after numerous BDR's and numerous offs. You have the ability to leave the large OS32 bags home and mount up your smaller bags in their place. Remarkably versatile. The replaceable white inner liner, even though it gets dirty, is easier on the eyes than red and increases visibility inside the bag.
    I don't recommend equipment simply because I own it - I'm a pretty critical consumer. The Kriega bags simply work beautifully.

    I use enduristan for nearly two years now. I can really recommend them! Easy to fit on the bike (i use the strap version of the bags). One big plus are the modular things you can add to the bags ( bottle holder, small bags...) even with the straps i only need less than a minute to fit them to the bike or take them off. (Sorry for my bad english) greetings from Germany

    Got mine today :-D
    Truly brilliant and awesome piece of kit!
    One thing made me scratch my head, though: when you get them delivered, the stiffeners are wrapped around the pannier in that plastic bag (as Lyndon showed). Now, once taken out and "unfolded" the stiffeners have that "U" shape, with velcros stitched at both ends and in the bottom. In addition the stiffeners are shaped so that they become slightly narrower towards the top of the "U". You actually need to bend the stiffener from its pre-formed "U" shape to the oppositte, something like "Π" and place it in the pannier like this. Otherwise the velcros on the stiffener do not match the velcros inside the pannier. It's difficult to describe, but dead easy once you do it. Basically, the stiffeners don't go inside like they're pre-shaped but have to be bent so the vertical arms of the "U" want to go apart.
    Have fun with yours!
    Cheers!

      @dawidd4817 3 года назад +1

      @@lyndonposkitt I'm not sure whether we're talking about the same issue actually 🤔 With mine, there was all correctly packed in terms of sizes and so on. What I meant was that the stiffeners have their velcros "the wrong way round", if you want to place them like they're pre-bent right into the pannier. The velcros are "placed correctly" on the stiffeners if I bend them by 180deg and turn around before putting into the pannier. I'm saying "wrong" and "correctly" in parentheses because I'm not sure whether it's an error or maybe it's intended to be like this.

    Very nice looking bag. But I was looking at the web straps that are use to lock/unlock the bar clamps. Seeing the power you had to use to lock and unlock them what happens if they break? Putting web strapping under that kind of pressure over time they will brake. Maybe advise Enduristan to put a coupe of wire loops and sandwich them between two of the same web strapping. This would give your the strength and rigidity you need to so the webbing would not hold the full load and break over time. Just a thought.
    Otherwise wonderful review. Just one thing missing. A discount code. This way Enduristan knows we bought them because of your review and will continue to support you in your endeavors.

    Great thing about no backing plate is if you take a crash when you don't have the bags on, there is no backing plate to get damaged... Even on a relatively minor crash your backing plates may get damaged and then you cant put your bags on.... Yea the rack might get damaged in a fall, but generally the tubular racks are pretty strong, and well if the bikes racks get damages, they probably saved your bike from damage!

    I really like those panniers mounting system to the rack , but those panniers material looks so thin and flimsy and I just wander that during simple crash/slide it will be cut through by a stone or branch . Did you had any crashes with those panniers ? how durable they are ?
    Would you choose them over KRIEGA OS Panniers ? Kriega's material looks more resistant to cut during slide on gravel , stones or brunches
    I will be more than grateful for your recommendations !

    Hi Lyndon
    Why do you choose to run rear racks on your bike will the extra weight they add? and not have just a throw of system like kriega ?
    Cheers
    Chris

    • @lyndonposkitt
      @lyndonposkitt  3 года назад +1

      A couple of reasons, firstly they add quite a bit of protection to the likes of silencers (which I have on both sides) and they also add strength to the rear end of the bike. For example, my bike has no sub-frame, it used the rear nylon fuel tank as a stressed member so adding a lot of weight without luggage rack is not ideal. Also, most bikes sub-frames are not designed for large luggage capacity and then experience issues over time without added support of a proper rack. Enduristan already have the Monsoon 3 system which is throw over for bikes without racks, but for the long distance adventurer / overlander I feel this is the better option long term.

    • @lyndonposkitt
      @lyndonposkitt  3 года назад +2

      Yes I used small ones, 24L on Races to Places. Basil does have them but he has additional silencer protection bars for the twin rally underswept silencers so I have to modify the brackets (very slightly) to make them fit. Of course my bikes are the only racks with this feature so it’s no big deal but to show the production install it’s important to show the production bags.

    • @lyndonposkitt
      @lyndonposkitt  3 года назад +2

      Hi Michael, a lot of the cost comes from the design and manufacture of the attachment mechanism, it took almost 1 year to test it and get it right and then theres the cost of injection moulds to manufacture them. Most soft bags don't have this and even hard bags typically don't have a lot of injection moulded parts. Enduristan is an evolving luggage manufacturer in the market and still growing, hopefully costs can be reduced going forwards.

      I’ve been doing reviews of gear I use on Races to Places since 2014, they were just always hosted on different channels. People asked for this so I did it. I still release 2 fully edited episodes a month from my travel and adventures so I don’t consider one gear review in 2 years excessive. I can assure you it is still me 😁

    Simple system but still doesn’t justify the price... 660€ for a pair... Rip-off... 🥴
    around 400€ will be a fair price...

      Knowing what went into the design and development compared to other bags on the market, I don’t think it’s fair to say they are a “rip off”. New and innovative approaches cost time and money to develop and I credit Enduristan for going down a different route and not just copying others on the market. It is comparable price wise to other well developed solutions but of course there are always cheaper solutions available for those that cannot afford or justify this 👍

      Lyndon Poskitt hands down for the design 🙌 no question about that... but the idea and development R&D and stuff still doesn’t justify this price... the materials and the job building a set of bags it’s far less then 200€ ... put some for the innovative idea brand etc ... still there’s a lot to justify until 660€ ...
      I know you’re not allowed to brake down the price... hence you can’t justify it for us ...
