I know you’ll probably never see this but whatever. I’ll shout it into the void anyway. Sirens was the song that really got me into your music. Of course I’d heard the adventure, all the small things, I miss you, etc. but there’s just something about sirens that pulled me into you. I think it had something to do with the innocence and nativity of the love that this song is about that resonated with me to a whole other level. Thank you for making the beautiful music you make which helps me feel less alone. I’m glad AVA, blink, and boxcar are in my life! I love you Tom!

I like to picture a guy sitting in his house that's haunted and the spirits have been relentless, his family is at a motel and he doesn't have the money to move.
He then realizes the "ghosts" are just mad the man and his family changed everything about the house and so he starts restoring it back to its original look but with fresh paint etc. During this the ghosts look on happy and while they're still there, they can all live in peace together.
I used to watch my ex sleep sometimes. I thought she was the most beautiful woman ever, even her flaws. She had two kiddos I absolutely fell in love with and we had such a great bond. Well, she cheated on me and I found out about it but I never told her. I thought I was the problem, so I changed every bad habit I had and stepped up BIG. She cheated on me again and I confronted her about it and instead of saying yes admitted she had been interested to m not just one person, but many. The thing is, my heart broke when I found out the first time and I did everything I could to reel her back, but at the same time I was building up the courage to let go of the kids. My heart was breaking in 3 pieces. I ended it. It’s been 2 months and I still think about her. I miss her. I miss them. I miss US but I know it was all fake. The only love that was real was between me and those children. My eyes water typing this. I just love them so much. I want to heal and move on.

tom was great but i think he should stay and keep his music like this, because this is the perfect pattern from all of AVA album after wdntw... better than their EP nowadays
Tom doesn't care about a "defined" style.
AVA has always been an extension of Tom himself, and he's always evolving and changing.
This is his project that lets him creatively express himself, and if the style changes then that's just how it is. I personally love everything he's put out, especially the newer stuff.
In his documentary Tom says that LOVE is what defines AVA most. :) Tom creates to express himself, not to please anyone.
