    A bit time consuming but the end results says it all, great stuff

    The end result is so awesome!! This is a very tedious process but honestly I think if I had to pick this would be my favorite transition. It always looks so good in the end!. How long did it actually take you to do this transition start to finish? I'm gonna guess 25 min lol, you had A LOT of frames to go through with so many different lines to follow!

      Thank you! Honestly one of my favorites as well, if done right it looks super smooth! Definitely super tedious tho, it took probably about an hour and a half… it doesn’t help my computer is super slow, so I probably could have done it quicker lol. And depending on how accurate you want it, it takes longer. I’m curious how many key frames I had 🤔

      Glad I could help! I love trying this transition mask with any drone so good luck!

    The end result is worth the effort. With After Effects I think you can manipulate the pen tool more easily.

      It’s definitely worth it! I don’t use after effects too often, but I could easily see it being a bit easier for sure

    Is there a faster way of getting the masking part done? Or perhaps there's a plugin that can do this quicker?

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately for something like this, there isn't a faster way. If you have a pretty simple mask, you can try to just hit the "track select mask forward" play button and it will auto track for you. It just may not be as accurate and will probably have to fix some key points.

    I think this is what I am looking for, thanks. I want to fly my drone through a frame, with a new drone shot in that frame, and as it flies through, it fills the screen and becomes the new video shot. I think this tutorial is going to be my guide. Thanks. Do you have any more tips?

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  Год назад

      It is a really cool transition with a drone shot! I think a great tip is when you fly through a frame to make the transition, make sure that the frame has very distinct lines so you can have the mask points line up easier. I would say try to go straight through it rather than down at an angle like I did. For this video, it was a little difficult because I had multiple lines and if the mask doesn't stay on the same line the whole time, it can look a little weird.

    I'm working on a project using this technique but my mask stays the original size so I have to keep moving the point quite a bit. How do I get the mask to grow in size like yours?

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  Год назад

      Are you using the track select mark forward button? Depending on what your tracking or how complex the edges are, you may have to move the points a lot more. Or you can try using more points so the mask can track easier!

  • @kruldaj
    @kruldaj Год назад +1

    hi, is it possible to add new points to the mask during the video or remove already created points without messing up the mask on the previous keyframes?

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  Год назад +1

      You can always go back through your keyframes using the mask path arrow toggles and add keyframes or remove them holding control and clicking the keyframes. But in doing that, you will alter all your other keyframe so you will have to go back through and adjust the rest manually. I don't believe there is a way to do it without messing up the previous keyframes, unfortunately.

      @@TMBProductions12 thank you so much for your quick reply, i thought so too, i was struggling with it for a few hours... i'll probably have to make the mask in the most difficult position first to have enough points and the rest of the others keyframes will follow from that. .. that will be hard work... couldn't it be done more easily in After Effects?

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  Год назад +1

      Yea masks are tough, that's why I zoom in 200% to make sure I get my mask points correct the first time lol. I feel like it is easier adding points rather than remove them, so I start small and work my way up, but that is just me. But definitely try doing it in the most difficult position first, maybe that will be better, let me know! And honestly it probably could be done in After Effects easier but I don't know the program too well..

    • @kruldaj
      @kruldaj Год назад +1

      @@TMBProductions12 yes i'll try it, shoot enough points and keep them constant in all keyframes, then i think it should pass first time 🙂 i'll let you know... in after effects maybe the mask could move automatically according to the color keying of the selected area, but I don't know if I understood it correctly, I don't know much about it either 😄 I'll try it when I have more time

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  Год назад +1

      @@kruldaj Best of luck! Premiere works great, just time consuming and just have to take your time and get your keyframes right the first time!

    Hey there. When I draw my first mask and click mask path then toggle animation on and try to track selected mask forward 1 frame nothing happens. Not even the video moves by one frame and all the track buttons turn into grey. What am I doing wrong?

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  6 месяцев назад

      That is interesting... I have never had that happen before. Have you tried deleting your mask or even your clip, and starting again?

    • @serhatfidan7399
      @serhatfidan7399 6 месяцев назад

      @@TMBProductions12 found the solution by using main video buttons like forward by 1 frame right next to play button 😅 don’t know if it works in the end. Couldn’t finish masking. it will take a life time lol.

    • @TMBProductions12
      @TMBProductions12  6 месяцев назад

      @@serhatfidan7399 That's weird that worked but the track select mask forward button didn't! You could also toggle on the mask and then use the forward arrow key and then adjust the mask. But you also have to make sure you click on the mask in between each move lol. Masking definitely takes a long time!

      If you can’t see it, try to turn down the opacity and the more you start masking the more it will reveal the video and then you can turn back up the opacity
