Double Dragon (双截龍, Daburu Doragon - Sō Setsu Ryū) is a beat 'em up video game series initially developed by Technōs Japan and released as an arcade game in 1987. The series features twin martial artists, Billy and Jimmy Lee, as they fight against various adversaries and rivals.
The original Double Dragon was a blockbuster hit arcade game, ushering in a "Golden Age" for the beat 'em up genre, resulting in a flood of beat 'em ups during the late 1980s to 1990s that followed the conventions set by Double Dragon. Double dragon was one of my top favorite games for Nintendo as a child loved double dragon
I had the pleasure to conquer all three. Who else has beating all 3. Salute.

ah i remember a friend and i playing this near every weekend at our local gas station. they had double dragon full size arcade game there by a table near the bathrooms. we would always go down there for nacho's, soda and double dragon. the gas station is now a used car lot. i always wonder what happen to that arcade game. im sure its no longer there, but i still have an itch to scratch just to go in an look around for it. no need now though, i bought a retro trio console. right now it has a NES cartridge, SNES cartridge and a Sega cartridge in it all at the same time. (with 4 different double dragon games in all) for a 600+ games with out pulling out a cart. each cart is a multigame cart. Super double dragon is the best for sure. needless to say i have double dragon on blu ray now. the wizard on DVD. (my man here just scored 50k on double dragon)... the retro trio is a great console to buy with hdmi for 85$ on amazon. even better with wireless retro controllers. can also plugin any old controllers you have. as it has ports for NES,SNES and sega controllers. comes with its own as well. but, i think many games want they own proper controllers or some will not work. basically it comes with SNES controllers. so SNES multi cart first. other stuff for later upgrades.
DOUBLE DRAGON 3 for the NES was the shit, Loved the soundtrack, the Music for the 2nd stage China is amazing

For its time, this game was revolutionary. With its missions, run and jump, obstacles. Especially because games of this era 1988 were a 2D side-scrolling kick, jump or bullet hell type. There wasn't much in the way of variety because the hardware wasn't capable of much more. I grew up on a Commodore 64 and later Amiga 120, I never even owned a console.

Inferior NES Double Dragon 1 to cheap and beatable Sega MS but the NES improved in II: The Revenge and a horrible difficult barely beatable III. Super Double Dragon for the SNES or Return of Dragon the True Double Dragon are the one official IV. Not the recent dumps of Trash!
Double Dragon 3 for the NES was a super beatable game, and one of the best nes games in my experience, this Co op was a freakin blast !!!! Still own a copy and beat he shit out of it after almost 30 years
@@felipeherrera6507 I admit as I said Double Dragon III was the most difficult of the Four Double Dragon games but beatable implying how tough it was for me in 1990-1991 when it came out.
The failure of double dragon games you can buy each right now for $4.99 each instead of the arcade version 8 bit graphics will never be the same as the arcade

This games were extremely popular back in those days and were absolute commercial hits, Non of them is less than 9.99 USD Used todayand mint sealed copies go for 700 usd and even more, were is the failure ?? this games were neever meant to be Arcade perfect ports , this was imposible for a nes or even a super nes back then, what are you talking about ?
@@felipeherrera6507 yes I agree this game was popular I couldn’t even find it in stock back when I still loved the console I didn’t know the arcade was better then consoles you can now play double dragon 1 2 3 on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch the arcade versions I stared hating NES when the day came teenage mutant ninja turtles the arcade game was released where it played no where close to the arcade no song they don’t throw the ninja with their weapons that’s when I hated NES and went and bought arcade machines double dragon was ok but not perfect as the arcade version all I like is the music if you go on Nintendo Switch or PS4 xbox one you can buy double dragon NES for $4.99
