Hey man, also a new yorker here. How tight are the laws/cops when it comes to moped style ebikes ln the streets/bike lanes? Im rewlly interested in the ghost cat but ya know .... I dont wanna waste 2k if cops will jyst impound it 🤣
Anything electric without pedals right now is illegal… Scooters are being impounded… cops hang out on one side in groups at bridge entrances… SurRons have been lucky so far and are in some cases even getting on ferry’s It’s a gamble… are you willing to gamble…?
@@mr.e_from_nyc thanks for making it straight forward. The ghost cat does have a pedal, but even then, it seems like a gamble because it depends how competent a cop is with the law... What a tough choice to make...
As a former onyx rider, I’m not willing to gamble anymore. Upgraded to land moto and a motorcycle endorsement and haven’t looked back since! I used to think man I don’t want to pay for insurance. Didn’t realize I was up in arms about a measles $18 a month!
@@RandomMotoThings oh motorcycles are cheaper by far, even insurance is dirt cheap. Gas alone makes it MUCH cheaper as lithium battery sucks absolute.. you know what. I will be doing this as a permanent solution but I also like to have an ebike. The ghost cat HAS a pedal but again, some cops will try to press you regardless, so I def understand where you're coming from. Man this sucks 😂
Thats why I love my Aventure by aventon, Flys under the radar. Next bike probably Wired Crusier the 2024 model. illegal but kinda lowkey if your pedaling. Police know me by name for my thug days and have stopped me on my e bike for A verbal confrontation. I had a suspended car licence and they didnt bother me. They asked how fast it goes tho, Obviously I said right up to the legal limit 👁👄👁😂. Mad typos and I aint fixing them, Im THAT GUY! 🤣
I hear ya… believe it or not. I am wearing one. I guess it’s the position that’s important. I almost didn’t upload this video but I tried headphones, laptop, and the television and I thought you can hear the audio just fine. I’m curious as to what device you’re using to watch this video….?
@@mr.e_from_nyc Laptop with HDMI out to a second monitor. The speakers are built into the monitor and are not the best so the issue probably is partly my setup.
Believe it or not… I’m using a mic… I came close to not uploading but I tried this video on my Mac TV and phone and I can hear it ok… try it with a set of headphones… 🙌💯🙌

Get an old iPhone headset and use the mic from that in your helmet so we can actually hear you.
