Pancho has been stuck in my plant storage tank for too long. I'm setting up this 100 litre (28.5 gallon) paludarium/aquaterrarium for him as a home over the coming months so we can put some size on him with extra feeding. You are limited to their digestion times as they can take several days to digest their food, but when he has a poo, we can be right on top of it for clean up and re-feeding.
After we set up the 90cm tank for Pancho (collecting resources), this tank will be fully planted with a carpet plant and home to a lucky betta!!!!

Haha pumpkin and ghost are watching you the whole time loving it
they got front row seats haha
"hopefully no one sees me because I look like an absolute nutter" proceeds to take moss off the street
Hey! You there! Put that moss back will ya!
🤣
Honestly that's a mood though.
I took some moss growing on the sidewalk when I was out walking my dog...LOL I made a terrarium for it :)
When he said this I thought the same when I was getting moss from my work
A quick note. When I say power feed, I just mean be right on top of the feeding. Axolotls actually take several days to digest food and you don’t want to feed them until they have made a stool…but as soon as he does, we will see it easy now, be able to clean it and get perfect water and then feed again :D
SHE 😂
@Isaac last time MD said he was starting to think Pancho was a boy again, because of the lump near the tail. I guess we’ll only really know once Pancho is fully grown?
@@BlueLighteningGojo yeah there is a large lump developing at the base of the tail...I think he's a boy after all....that and he is more streamline and girls tend to have more boooooooootty :D
BettaTimeStories oooh.
Love the details of care you give in all your videos! Masterful work as always man:) Dont mind the critics questioning the obvious there will always be people around not seeing whats right in front of them. :3 Any plans for a game fish aquarium??
Looks absolutely incredible, I would expect nothing less
haha. Thanks

@@sullivandunn508 PERFECT!
Don't worry you don't look weird talking to your phone in the rain you just look like a 20 something :P
Hey mate were can I buy the tank from
@@justbaquatics2512 at Aquariums for life mate www.aquariums4life.co.uk/
Have you ever considered live streaming doing a scape? I feel like this would be the perfect content for twitch IRL or something and would be great to see everything from start to finish.
this
yeah trying to sort the internet for livestreaming. Waiting for some fibre. Wont be long
Love the final result. It always blows me away you grab moss from outside. Initially I was like "what?" But any organisms on it probably aren't anything another creature can't handle. I'm going to go hunt for some today. I live in a wet environment so should be easy. Keep up the great work!
One can near how giddy you sound about build. Your exuberance is inspiring!
It’s 2 am and I’m making amazing life choices
#commitmentsquad
Stunning! The mist is the perfect touch. I envy Pancho her new home.
yeah thanks
Great job scaping! I am a huge fan of the perfect/imperfect approach to emulate nature! This is stunning!
I live in America so I’m watching this at 2 am
Me too...lol
I’m in Canada, an hour ahead of the earliest USers... too much FishTube 😁

Even in South Korea either!
Final look is amazing!
cheers Richard.
Fantastic ...MD
thank you
Mail man- "Whats in this box? Rocks?"
MD- "Yes."
16:33 MD on the way to his mossdealer.
Hahaha
lol😂🤣😂amazing!! Absolutely love it!!!😂😅😂
Thanks for the moss tip! Off on trip to the creek tomorrow
That is one 🔥 crib you have there, pancho! You’re lucky your papi Marc is a great provider. Excellent work mate! Please do update us on this project (and im sure you will lol). Cheers!
Beautiful tank! Congratulations from Brazil!!
I love what you did, it looks amazing! Especially with the fog machine
I love the local sourcing you do. I walk around the streams by me in New Jersey and do the same. Glad you post proof that its normal.
haha. If im out and about anywhere near nature....Im always looking!
It is normal... Isn't it??? 🤔
Coolest tank I've seen you do so far...and I've watched a Tonne of your visa. Keep it up!
Lucy axolotls lose colour in their gills when they sleep. The colour comes back when they wake up and start moving 😉
Man this tank is nuts! I love it
Simply awesome 👌
Where do you find that kind of aquarium? Link is broken. Can’t find anywhere.
I feel like this tank is my new favorite!!! :)
Cool.
thanks
As always, living the dream vicariously through your creations and yes I do indeed describe you as the ‘guru’ of aquascaping!
Keep it up 👍
Insane creativity! Loving the video! 💚🌿
MD, you need yo watch The Previous Video from SerpaDesign, low tech setup, Its awesome! 😍
Mature water has nitrates and phosphates and other organics which can help feed the bacteria in the tank which is a good thing, but you need also some mature media that contains the bacteria otherwise it would be pointless.
yeah so the new filter has lots of cycled media added to it :)
Do you do water tests? If so what are you using?
That is awesome! My favourite so far, if that's ok? hehe
Very resourceful with that moss as well, it'll grow perfectly on that lava rock. I gotta get me one of these! Nice work bud!
Dang it. Im late. Great build 😊
(The "like video sound" on an aquarium channel scares me every time)
U usually give us some better end-of-vid scape scenes to the music. I know u probly didn't bc this vid got kind of lengthy, but I always appreciate that part of ur videos. After watching a build, it let's us enjoy the beauty & serenity of the completed scape in the way that u get to enjoy it by being there.
Yeah i will show in future but like you say, the vid was already very long.
Another great one
super like
i like your videos..you should make your intro short..just a personal preference
?? it was 30 seconds long on a 24 minute video?
Tempted to try and build one, don't know how ill go!
New subscriber here from chicago 🤟🏻
Md can I have link to buy the tank I'm gonna try and do the paladuraim like yours..... Awsome mate really is.... Keep tanking
www.aquariums4life.co.uk/ check them out and send them an email :)
My Axolotl is called Falkor because he reminds me of the luck dragon from the never ending story.
0:42 "… Let's get excited, we just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it
I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
Lalala lala lala..... 🤣😍
Aw thats not ponchos forever home? Do you have any plans on who/what will be taking residence in that tank after Poncho?
sean Okami MD added in the comments that it will be home to a lucky betta ☺️
I think it will be for Mike. I will take out the sand, put in aqua soil and carpet with hairgrass or mote carlo...or both.
I'm loving this! The mosses and the simple scape 😍 very natural looking swampy cavey habitat for wee lass Pancha.
Just curious, have you been watching AntsCanada? The whispered subscribe reminded me of him.
Cheers!
Where can I get the tank your using?? I wanna build something like that
cigarette filters, liquid super glue and a little baking soda = instant cure stability. the filters add material to bond the rocks, liberally apply the glue and then sprinkle on the baking soda to cure to glue in seconds.
Thanks Riley. Will be good with mini landscape but not needed with these rocks. They lock IN!
Maybe there is a species of crab that's too big for Pancho to eat but too small to threaten pancho that can climb out to the terrarium part
Yes mate !!! very nice top job brilliant video once again very much enjoyed it happy days
I am about to start liking a paludarium. It's beautifully done! Thanks for upping this one.
So the aquarium is built by you or when can i find a similar one?
very nice! I love the way it turned out it's perfect! and the mist gives it just the right vibe! a bit spooky and Pancho makes the whole tank have kind of a prehistoric eerie kind of vibe! awesome good job!
Awesome been waiting for this for a few days love the waterfall.. it looks good very natural and a lot cleaner than the water they live in the wild.
yeah think their natural habitat has been polluted.
@@MDFishTanks It has I'll have too find some footage of lake diving I have done in Mexico where they are from too, it's pretty bad over run with Asian Carp and one of the lakes it's from has been completely drained.. there are more of them in Captivity than in the wild.
So amazing 😍....so cool penthouse....I want one for me...u r really great...u always doing wonderful job...rocks setup is so beautiful... driftwoods give extraordinary effects...mist maker is awesome...u use moss so beautifully...all tank looks fantastic... keep it up sir ... thanks for sharing the details..u r my favorite...
I started following your channel because your no ferts, no CO2, no nothing tanks were approachable even for me, a paraplegic living on 160€ disability a month. Now all you do is to mess around with technology and materials on a weekly basis I couldn't afford in a year. You used to fill a niche, then you completely abandoned your roots and are now the umpteenth high-tech aquascaper on youtube. I'm not saying that I do not like what I'm seeing, I'm just upset that you joined a crowd of people whose creations are too expensive for me to draw inspiration from.
All of this is completely possible with cheap equipment?? I'm not sure what your saying??
I feel like you are already about to run out of space in your studio 😂. Any way to utilize the old studio for more space like a single large tank or use it for storage or quarantine?
Dis akuarium veri nice
Where can we get those tanks from? Cheers 👍
hallo MD Fish Tank.. I am from Indonesia.. thanks for the inspirations..
For me it’s still many rocks but I would’ve planted some plants in between the rocks to grow from the back then work up may have looked good but I do like ... no mistaken
thanks mate.
Isn't it a bit hazardous to place the stones directly on the glass bottom? With all the weight on top you aren't you bound to get presurepoints?
Porous?no friction
You used your wife's baking tray again😂
yeah she want mad! (porous meaning: "having minute interstices through which liquid or air may pass")
@@MDFishTanks I'd looove to see your wife's take on this description :D
Could be my favourite
Did you acclimate him or just pick up and move from one running tank straight to another?
please please please can you pop a Pancho tshirt on the teespring site? Pancho's inspired me to get a little 'lotl of my own
Looks great! Pancho looks happy! 😃 sorry I’m late
That looks amazing!! Especially love the water mister. We have one in our water feature outside and they really enhance the whole look. 👍🏽👍🏽
How do you keep the water cold? Is there some sort of chiller unit? I've watched several videos and no one seems to address this.
Not sure if this will help- but you can get a chiller or get a desk fan and sit it on top of the lid pointing it down at the water
Which light is that because it looks good
Looks great. Was expecting some terrestrial &/or emersed plants. Like your fern pouches or so some anubius. Any future plans, MD?
yeah maybe. I did add some but then took out as I felt it took away from the look not added. Was just distracting.
I wonder how many of us use this good old IKEA colander ;)
I good colander is essential aquarium kit 👍🤣
Hell yeah so cool love the videos
Beautiful. Yeah, “I feel more connected to it” does sound a bit weird, but I see what you mean. I can see a paladarium in my future. Meanwhile, I’m setting up my 10 gallon, ten dollar aquarium-on-the- cheap that you inspired me to start. Your neighborhood moss scavenging has inspired me again. Rather than expensive mopani wood, I’m going down to the beach to scavenge some free driftwood. (I’ll clean it and boil it, of course.)
.....it should be made law that everyone should watch one of your videos as soon as you wake up.your enthusiasm is infectious.you deserve every bit of success with your channel...and i’ll be coming along for the ride 😁
I'm a new subscriber, so I probably missed the video where it happened, but the last video I saw about Pancho, they were living in the big 4 ft paludarium, not the plant storage tank, why did they move out? (I absolutely love this tank btw, I've been binging this channel for weeks and would love to create tanks like this someday. Not at all any kind of criticism of Pancho's new home, just curious)
that tank was in the old studio. I had to break it down to move into the new studio. I made the rainbow river in the 4ft tank. It was unnecessarily big for pancho to be honest. They don't move around that much to be honest lol.
@@MDFishTanks Cool! The old scape in the 4ft was so cool, idh how you could bear to tear it down, but rainbow river and and pancho's new home are just as incredible!!
Süper 👍
thanks
I live in Singapore, its 5 PM.
good morning :)
Your builds are super inspirational!!! Question. At what point do you start considering the weight of the rock on the glass?
That was the best laugh in the beginning of the vid! haha
Just a WONDERFUL aquaterrarium!😊 Finally, Pancho!🤍💗🤍 You have a runny nose, get well🤧
The tank looks awesome 😎😎😎 i love it
thanks
With what do you clean the outside of the tanks with?
Maybe you told and I missed. Can you tell the purpose of putting substrate behind the rocks? As I see you haven't planted anything on it
that tank looks amazing i wish i could do something like that. yes you can say "crap"
So do I and I've been doing it 15 years, doesn't stop me trying, practice makes perfect or perfectly imperfect because that's nature for you. 👍
you can both do it guys. Pile some rock up (safely) and stick some moss on. Use a cheap filter, light and aquarium if you want. All of it works.
@@MDFishTanks i live on the third floor of an old house plus my landlord won't allow it
I know it's an old video and people have probably said before. But an an ex breeder of axolotles I did just want to menchion as some constructive criticism that sand substrate really isn't good for axolotles as the accidently ingest some of it when eating and it slowley builds up in their digestive tract over time until they become impacted and starve. But you won't notice until its too late due to the belly been swollen from impaction which people cab mistake for them been fine. But I must say this set up is awsome looking though :)
How is the used tank called? Need to buy it :D looks perfect
Paluarium tank. www.aquariums4life.co.uk
@@MDFishTanks Thank you :)
This looks so great. Getting serious paludarium envy along with axolotl envy. I need more room. Have 4 tanks and one LARGE Betta bowl in the house so severe lack of space. It's great to see Pancho's new home. Looking forward to updates.
Wow very inspiring, amazing build i love it!
Don't they need chilled water?
no. Temperate. (18 degrees).
Now that's a nice looking tank
Do they sell these rimless type paludarium tanks in the US? This is way better looking than the wabi kusa tanks from ADA.
rip chocolate :(
Would love to see a bonsai incorporated somehow
Looking good! You create really inspiring videos which stand out from the crowd. Well done!
Another great build. Can't wait for the next. Keep it up.
Dude that tank is plenty big enough. These crybabies think you need to put him in a swimming pool or something?
Did you just rinse the moss in regular tap water?
Beautiful, I love it, so natural and pleasant to the eye...in America as well, 3:30am, excited to see this video...
I’m Such a big fan of your work I just can’t believe how beautiful your things look can’t wait to see more of your videos
