There is a company here that does the ceramic coating on vehicles. I had both my car and motorcycle done. Like you said the results are amazing. It cost me $250 for them to ceramic coat my motorcycle but that includes a 5 year warranty. Love that I never have to wax my bike or car for the next 5 years.
UPDATE: After a couple days of curing and full evaporation of the solvents, the surface IS now slick like a fresh wax! You can't keep a towel on the tank :)

Those C90's are damn heavy bikes, got rid of one eight weeks ago, the front end bothered me, too heavy like a big Harley police bike and I could not get used to the front controls at all even though I built a couple of bikes back in the 70's I put forward controls on, choppers, I never rode them but the owners loved them, any way I traded the C90 for a BMW 1200rt a sport tourer 09, the controls are just a bit forward of seat, some like this others don't.
Gotta show this stuff to my dad. He rides a goldwing and me an f6b. We've been using Meguiars Yellow Car Wash with wax and finish it up with FX11 Top Coat with some really good results. It does become a real PITA to wax those bikes all the time here in Port Orange, FL.
I like and use ceramic coatings but have never seen one offer good protection for more than about a year. If it’s a vehicle you don’t use much in bad weather it can last longer. As far as scratch resistance, it can help prevent micro scratching, anything else it makes absolutely no difference. Nice vid.
Using a ceramic coating on a plastic paint job, why would you do that, you all don't know much about paints and what to polish them with, do a bit of research mates and make up yer own minds.
When my bike gets real dirty I usually just hose it off. I use Lemon Pledge and a microfiber rag after every couple rides and it does a great job of keeping the shine on the bike. I also have one of those California car dusters that I use when the bike gets dusty. A quick dusting then Pledge and my bike looks new. I get compliments all the time. The bike is almost ten years old
Read on the Lemon Pledge what is in it and look up the stuff you don't know then you might think twice before you use it again. Lemon is acidic and over time will break your paint down and it will dull out but it won't do this on finishes used on wood which is what Pledge is normally used for. Try Clear Plastic cleaner instead made by Meguirs to Military specs, guitar builders use it on their finishes to make them really pop out, this stuff is hard to find and it's called "Mirror Glaze".
Could you first do a clay bar on the bike before applying the ceramic coating ? This would remove the dirt etc embedded in the paint as well as removing the water spots. Great video. Thank you
Just one mans thoughts. Ive been detailing motorcycles for many years. Unless you do not care about the road dirt and dust, you will still need to wash and dry your bike after a ride. For anyone that does that regularly, it will take between 1 and 2 hours to complete on a cold bike. Once your bike is dry (microfiber toweled and air dryed) throwing on a good coat of high-gloss carnuba wax on the painted body parts and chrome will not take long. In a shady spot, apply wax from the front and go completely around the bike. Once all parts have wax applied, it will haze then buff off with a clean microfiber towel. A very good carnuba wax bottle will probably get you a year of waxing your bike, and you will get that "do it yourself satisfaction", plus have an extraordinary hardened base of protection.
Nice! I have to give this a shot. Nothing much like a waxed/polished bike. I also like to use Lucas Slickmist in between waxing, but maybe don't have to with this? I'll try it out. Thanks!
Question.. i want to use meguiars liquid ceramic wax.. but i am concerned it will make my tank where my legs grip, too slippery.. have you found that the ceramic coatings make the paint too slippery to grip on to with legs,body etc?

I'm planning to remove rust on my bicycle handlebars and then add a protective layer on it. Do you think this will work? I just don't want the rust to come back in a year or two.
Side note i have a 14 fjr it has NEVER seen wax i use Plexus top to bottom all surfaces my bike is in showroom condition shines better than new.. i get comments no mater where i go its expensive but hands down there is really nothing like it.oh and my 7 year old windshield is crystal clear

Any reason why you didn't clay bar the finish just prior to the 50/50 alcohol wipe down? Any reason why you used a 5H ceramic coating as opposed to a 9H?

I could not find any independent long term testing of these coatings on the web. Considering the cost of this stuff, it sounds a bit like snake oil. I hope you can get back to us in a year or two with an update. Enjoy your videos just the same.
Some one is always trying to come up with some snake oil that will polish better and last longer, ask a good guitarist what they use on their babies and use that.
I'm intrigued. I clay-barred and waxed my Eluder as soon as I brought it home two months ago. I used Mothers wax, what a PITA! It's one of those you have to let dry before buffing off, and it doesn't buff off easily! And I thought I was being real careful about not getting any on my black plastics, but well after the fact, I've got obvious wax smudges. What's the best way to remove wax from black plastic?

Call me a old fat grumpy but give me the whiff of Gunk on a old air cooled engine with a hint of tacky VHT paint on a Harris "black" 4 into 1 pipe and old part worn Dunlop TT 100s Avon roadrunner tyres (with a y) rotting away in the dankness. Guess must be a mancave/bike shed kinda guy not a moto boutique one. Nice to see how the younger ones do it . must go now got some box spanners to oil up !
Dude, this stuff is $114.00 !!! Come on, there are cleaners and sealants that will last a year if you do it right. Many of those other products can be used on plastics, painted surfaces, glass, plexiglas you name it. By the time you've gone through the paint prep as you said you could be done without buying some stuff for another $114. Then you compare this to regular wax. Fine but compare this to something else and at a fraction of the cost get a similar result and have enough stuff left over to do all your cars, trucks, the RV, the boat and then let the neighbors do theirs. Sorry, $114 is a complete fail.

The smallest bottle is 5 oz and $110-$130 and that is Amazon, more $$$ elsewhere including the manufacturer. Prices go way up from there like in the hundreds to gain the benefits claimed. I just think there is a lot of marketing going on with the product similar to the various oil and gas treatments. I was hoping for an unbiased review as ceramic coatings have significant downsides, nothing mentioned. The work is appreciated though, new ideas and new products are great to know about. Thanks

Should i do it on my kawasaki ninja 300 (2019 model) ? Most mettalic part is the tank itself, rest all is fiber, plastic and stickers.

This stuff is really useful. I've found that if you drink a shot of it before a night of binge drinking, you won't get a hangover in the morning.

Did the product come with a applicator cloth and a pad in the kit?

Would it be ok to use a clay bar to make sure all contaminants are removed?
You can use a clay bar in your prep but you still have to use the alcohol/water mixture as the final step before coating

QUARTZ has always been good stuff, but they still recommend to use wax between the applications.

rubbing alcohol strips off wax......btw this product (and all ceramic coating products) works best if you let it cure in the sun..

Uh, yes it is - for a large bottle that does 20 motorcycles or a handful of cars/trucks. Get the smaller bottle if you don't need that much.

The smallest bottle is 5 oz and $110-$130 and that is Amazon, more $$$ elsewhere including the manufacturer. Prices go way up from there like in the hundreds to gain the benefits claimed. I just think there is a lot of marketing going on with the product similar to the various oil and gas treatments. I was hoping for an unbiased review as ceramic coatings have significant downsides, nothing mentioned.
The work is appreciated though, new ideas and new products are great to know about. Thanks
