This is actually a decent performance review. Consider me subscribed. Considering there's basically no flow X13 RTX 3050 ti version review anywhere u might want to give a full review a chance just sayin lol
I've had this computer for over a year now and absolutely love it, I'm surprised there wasn't more coverage on it for what it can do, honestly the best laptop I've ever had
That's good to know. I have a Razer Blade 15 2019 that had to be repaired by Razer and it's definitely showing its age from frequent use (make sure to buy the Razercare y'all, it's worth it!). I love this laptop, but it's definitely not as portable as I was hoping. It looks like the Flow Z13 andX13 are coming down in price to the point where it's on point with other non-gaming ultrabooks. How is your experience with portability? This and the Z13 looks like the closest thing to a truly portable gaming ultrabook. How is your experience with the portability of this thing, and the power bank? Is the typing experience decent? I've heard the trackpad is tiny, but I tend to use a wireless mouse with my laptop anyways.
I have one (X13 with R9 6900HS + 3050Ti) and the battery life results can be a very mixed bag depending on what you do. Just browsing or watching videos on silent mode ive squeezed 10+ hours out of it, but then Red Dead Redemption on the other hand manages to kill the battery in about 1 hour, maybe 1,5 if youre lucky. The touchscreen is surprisingly responsive and because its 120hz the input with the stylus is also very good indeed, feels a lot like a tablet in that regard..
Portability is very personal imo, but this is by far the smallest and lightest laptop ive ever owned and its great. Its barely bigger/heavier than my Samsung S7+ (12,4" screen) with the keyboard case installed. So yeah, as you can see i compare it more with a tablet than with other laptops, only goes to show how portable it is. I would recommend to stay away from the Z13 though, cuz with the (not so good) keyboard attached to it, it is actually bigger, heavier, more expensive than the X13 and yet it performs worse (thermals). So imo dont bother with the Z13...
Much appreciated! There's not many reviews for the 3050ti version, and then they only test a few games. You included all the games I was thinking of playing so this was perfect! Thumbs up for you!
I just bought the X13 a couple days ago, and though I haven't been able to test all 30 games, I played GTA online and got about 120(Turbo mode) - 80(Silent mode) average and with the 1% pretty much the same as your testing, about 60 high - 60 low depending on the power mode. What I haven't been able to test is the difference in performance from those power mode. If you could talk about it in the review, that would be nice.
@@imands8958 depends on the use case. for a gaming machine, the performance will be destroyed by the G14(3060) that has pretty much the same price. My personal opinion is that the flow X13 is perfect for people who cares for the all round use of a laptop. Good Battery life? Check, Good Processing Power? Check, Good Gaming performance? Check, Good Build Quality? Check. With The External GPU, the flow X13 would be the perfect laptop for docking, At home you'd have a high end gaming machine, but when you need to go out (Someday) You'll still have a great Laptop. My answer will be, yes, it's worth it. I would put this laptop in the middle of an Gaming Laptop and XPS. It's for those people who wanted the use a thin and light but with more grunt. And when looking at the promo price of the combo is still almost $3000, my idea for now is buy the laptop first for $1499* and hopefully either Asus continued the series (and use the same port) using the RTX 4000* series or buy the Dock about 1 or 2 years from now.
Just thank you! There are no videos for the XPS 15 with the 3050 ti (45w). So I wanted some comparable testing of that gpu. This is it! I guess that due to my higher wattage I will get some fps more in each game :)

The price for both is equal and I can't raise my budget. Personally i am leaning towards high refresh rate screen but will the 3050 be worth it or i should save some money and get the 1650 version with 120hz refresh rate from last year which is about 250 dollars cheaper than both the 3050 and the 1660ti version?
Get the rtx 3050 model, at 14 inches the difference between the resolutions is not as noticeable as compared to larger screens the better hardware has more value than a better screen
@@joekamasho planning the same... I feel 3050 might be better for me as i can play other games at higher frame rates and also general tasks would also feel fluid
Should be better due to more wattage. But here is the thing the bottleneck of 3050ti is actually the 4gigs of vram and not the GPU itself. It would be better not tooo much tho. Get a 3060 for way better performance.
is it possible to tweak the tgp of thr rtx 3050 ti through asus software or bios settings like in the linus tech tips video on this laptop back in 2021?
Even if it was possible I would not recommend this as the Cooling solution is not built to cool those higher wattages. Some capacitors etc. could be harmed without noticing and everything just degrades faster.
In League of Legends the CPU and GPU don't max out as it's programmed poorly. It can only utilize a few cores and thus single core performance only increases the fps. This results in the GPU and multicore CPU being bottlenecked.
I just got this laptop but cant figure out how to get games past a capped 60 fps even when changing v-sync on/off and going through settings, reddit threads etc. Did any of you have todo anything when you first got this laptop to uncap the fps?
Does this Flow x13 have MUX switch? If not, is there any solution for enhancing FPS by using dGPU for rendering display, instead of using iGPU, a bottleneck???
NEED HELP HERE!!! I am going to buy it next week and I keep hearing that the battery life isn't good which made me a little bit disappointed. If anyone know a power bank with USB ports on it that will work pls do tell me

Wonder how this compares to the z 13
So does this review use the egpu. Or is it just the laptop itself
Just the Laptop itself!!!
hi friend, what the app you use for performance metric
Msi afterburner. I have a 90 seconds video on how to use it. Just search for: hubwood osd
In RUclips.
I noticed that in some benchmarks you didn't show the temps , why?
Forgot. Didn't have time to rebench them all as it's a test unit I have to return. Sorry :/
@@Hubwood how dare you....
😂
I need some advice...should i buy the zephyrus G14 with rtx3050 and ryzen 5800h with 144hz screen or should i buy the last years zephyrus g14 with gtx1660ti with ryzen 4800h with 60hz 1440p screen.
@@joekamasho also dlss might help sometimes
Dose this apply to flow z13, RTX 3050 ti - specially world of tanks ?
Yes
Can u test Asus vivobook pro 15 oled m3500 please
With Specs:
Ryzen 5 5600h
Rtx 3050 4 GB
16 GB dual channel
Found a version with r7 5800hs insted of the r9. Do you think the performance will drop alot?
Same specs. Only diffrence is the cpu
No gaming performance won't drop alot :) if at all. The GPU will stay the bottleneck. The r7 5800hs is a powerful cpu aswell.
@@Hubwood thanks for the answer
Did you lose some fps because you were recording?
No. Used a capture card.
I would have appreciated if you included cpu power usage as well. If you do know, whats the average power the cpu uses when gaming?
Will the rog strix with rtx 3050ti and ryzen 9 5900hx give the same performance or will it be better ?
Should be better due to more wattage. But here is the thing the bottleneck of 3050ti is actually the 4gigs of vram and not the GPU itself. It would be better not tooo much tho. Get a 3060 for way better performance.
How about playing Dota 2 ? How its performance, thanks
Perfect. No problem.
My detailed Review for this Laptop:
ruclips.net/video/m6BQGPDP9vY/видео.html
is it possible to tweak the tgp of thr rtx 3050 ti through asus software or bios settings like in the linus tech tips video on this laptop back in 2021?
Even if it was possible I would not recommend this as the Cooling solution is not built to cool those higher wattages.
Some capacitors etc. could be harmed without noticing and everything just degrades faster.
@@Hubwood I plan to OC while its in tent mode where the vents are completely open to free air. A possible average of 95c isnt too bad
u bought it from best buy right? so did u get a pen with it?
Nope. No pen. Not from best buy. (I'm from Germany)
@@Hubwood ohh
@@varadkulkarni5688 Germans don't use pens 😂
Is the video quality locked or something? It shows 480p and not allowing to change
RUclips is still transforming it. Should be fine in a bit.
Maybe it's restricted in Geforce experience. Or in Riva tuner statistics server. If you use that with MSI Afterburner.
Can you test it by connecting with a g-sync monitor
Didn't work for HDMI. Didn't have the appropriate Display Port cable. Sorry.
Does the 1650 version give the same performamce for gta 5 ??
No the 1650 version is around 30% slower.
What temperatures
Can you VR with this?
How much different will this be when on a 3050 but 35 w?
Only a few % slower.
How was the temperature though?
Some games show temperatures in the osd at the top. Take a closer look :)
@@Hubwood oh thank you I didn't notice
it's good but for that price tag... I don't know it should be 800-900usd.
Does this Flow x13 have MUX switch? If not, is there any solution for enhancing FPS by using dGPU for rendering display, instead of using iGPU, a bottleneck???
Plz temperature status ekternal laptop.. 😬
NEED HELP HERE!!! I am going to buy it next week and I keep hearing that the battery life isn't good which made me a little bit disappointed. If anyone know a power bank with USB ports on it that will work pls do tell me
The power brick is not the big hence you can bring it anywhere
I only get about 140fps in valorant, I have the same version. Does anyone any reason why this could happen? I play on dpu with turbo
I dont get it...
I have the exact same laptop and my fps is always 120 straight, not more and rarely less...
Are my settings wrong =(
You probably have an activated fps cap. Like Vsync for example. Or an in-game fps cap in the graphics settings. Or in Nvidia experience.
@@Hubwood not at all. The in game Fps is uncapped and vsync is disabled
Valorant is a CPU bound game... thats why the gpu wasnt at 100%. The cpu matters here a lot, also other games like paladins and league of legends
Nice video... subs ur channel for testing 35W model since I going buy 3050 35W
damn 35w on that gpu is like the slowest configuration they maxed it all on cpu and ram
Any advise please I'm confused between AMD Ryzen 5 5600h RTX 3050Ti or I7 10750h 10th GTX 1660Ti
What games do you play. What are the costs? How much does the 3050ti have?
But if you're unsure just go for the 1660ti I guess
@@Hubwood I play mostly CSGO , SMITE and maybe will try red dead 2.. Rainbow six siege
@@hirezskander6759 in that case the 3050ti would also do perfectly fine.
In rdr 2 you would also benefit from dlss with the rtx.
@@Hubwood AMD Ryzen 5 5600h won't hold the RTX from its full potential right ?
Plus the 3050Ti is 4gb is it fine to play any game safely ?
Is this without gpu external?
Yes! I was using the internal Gpu.
So these were results without external gpu
Yes!
