I was looking flowers and what they symbolize. I found not that related article bout how Aristolochia. I had to google what flower it is and was shocked by its look. It’s so cool! I got really interested I had to watch someone explain more bout them! Really cool thank uuu!
Interesting and fun Presentation Thank you ! I've read a few papers on how toxic they are. I wouldn't touch them like that ! Are they toxic when eaten or to touch ?
Brilliant.! I actually have grown them on my fence with no clue what was coming.😂 Imagine my surprise when I saw 'em this morning and a hurried Google search brings me to your video... Fascinating story & thank you.❤ By the way I live in the tropics of south India & its monsoons in Bangalore right now..as perfect a weather as it can get. Great learning & tnx again.

i've had an A. elegans for years. the original tag said it was A. gigantea, but I've since come to the conclusion that it is actually A. elegans. I've been trying to figure out how to hand-pollinate it, but I've yet to figure out where the pollen is produced. I've had a couple of natural pollinations take place, but it is a very rare occasion. your video has given me more of a clue than I've ever had. thank you! I'll keep trying. I've got a couple of flowers that are just budding...
Very interesting! I accidentally came across your video while doing some research on Aristolochia clematitis and realized this is the very flower that caught my eye about one month ago in Padua's Botanical Garden. Unfortunately it didn't have a tag on it so I kept wondering what could it be... thanks for shining a light on it! It is a wonderful plant.
Beautiful Vine. Rare Vine. I want to grow it in India. Pl advise how to Vine. Rare Vine. I want to grow it in India. Pl advise how to grow - through seeds or cuttings. Any guidance where can I get in India or even in Singapore where I go to be with my son
Awesome story, ain't nature brilliant?! I just got one, and I was hoping it'd survive our winter (zone 9b/10a Mediterranean), but I'm not sure, so I might cover it and if it gets really cold I might even bring it indoors. And since you like stories Aristolochia literally means "perfect labour/child birth", from the ancient/modern Greek adjective άριστος/άριστη/άριστον (excellent, sublime, perfect) and the noun λοχεία (labour, child birth), because this plant was thought to help pregnant women to give birth and was used in folklore medicine!! Gigantea is Latin, but it also derived from a Greek word, γίγας/γίγαντας, which means "giant". I've just subscribed, hello from a fellow plantuber from Greece!! 😊
@@mando8000 so far it's loving its life really!! Keeps producing a few new blooms and a lot of new leaves (which is not ideal for me, because I haven't found a spot for it just yet, so it just grabs onto everything)!! 💚 I will be protecting it with a cloth this winter, just to be safe. Do you have one?
Very clear explanation of the pollination of this plant!
