Very nice build, just bought a new 2023 Defender Limited Max a month ago and you covered things that i wanna do as well. Very detailed video, thanks for taking the time to make it for the rest of us.
My audio installer went one step further on the JL Audio roof. After we added the the extra speakers, they pulled down some of the other speakers and stuffed several bags of poly fill which really tightened up the sound quality. As for adding another amp, the installer saved me some money and just tied the back 4 speakers into the same amp in the roof. It dropped everything down to 2ohms and increased the efficiency and power. It sounds great. I added an old Stillwater Kicker powered Sub that I had setting around for now just to make sure I wasn’t going to have a bunch of vibration and residence from the bass before I go for a full out mounted sub. I does so well for my taste, I’ll probably strap it down and leave like it is till this self-contained unit craps out before I upgrade. Thanks for all the ideas. I also installed the Z-Broz shocks. Like them. Also, love my CamLocker box. It’s full!
That’s clean as eff!! I got me a 23’ Polaris XP 1000 ranch collection with all the bells and whistles ordered. It’s coming with LED’s heated seats and ac with a touch screen operation, gun mount etc… God Bless America 🇺🇸
I've been looking at SxS for a while now. Was leaning towards a more performance-oriented machine like a TERYX, Talon or RMAX but while looking through your RAM Truck content, I saw this post - and your Defender LoneStar just stopped me in my tracks. It reminds me of a mini-Jeep Renegade! Very nice! I got to thinking about where I'm going to be riding (building retirement home in NW Arkansas after living in Dallas Tx for the last 36 years) and this rig fits the terrain up here. Not a lot of high-speed stuff up here at all. Mostly tight trails and logging roads. I like to get my wife out with me and having climate control would be a plus to get more trail time. Thanks so much for sharing this with the community!
Thanks for watching! I have a special needs daughter that has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She can’t be exposed to extreme temps for very long at all. The cab is amazing. It allows us to do more and go to more events. We went to a outdoor event tractor pull last week and took the canam. It is so quiet idling with ac on most didn’t even know it was running. It definitely has its pros and cons. We rv with toy hauler a lot and a lot of places don’t allow utv. Those places we take the wife’s jeep or the golf cart. The ac and heat works really well. Glad the video helped!
can I ask where purchased the mounts for the front light bar? Also the length of the light bar? I have seen many posts of similar setups, but in order for the front window to push out the roof has to be cut slightly for the brackets. Your method seems perfect.
Yes. You too can spend a ton of money on the 2022 CanAm LoneStar -- only to learn, upon receiving the rig, that CanAmopted to eliminate locking doors. Within my family, we purchased four Defender Max units. Three came with locking doors. The last, and most expensive, came without. How the hell does that make sense?

I guess I’m making this harder than it should be. How did you get the nuts on the backside of the bolts with such a small access area? There is a circular hole on the side but not large enough to put the nuts on the back of the bolts. Did you widen that to get access or did you just use bolts that were self tapping with no nuts on the back?

The unit has pass through wires from switch rocker panel to fuse box under the hood. I believe I ran my backup light wires through the tray in the center of the floor.

I was able to get the info on cell phone mount directly from RAM. Arm and base are RAM Double Socket Arm with Diamond Plate - B Size Medium (part #RAM-B-103-238U). Hey Rocky…. When I called Rough Country regarding your 50” Black Series LED Curved Dual Row light they told me there bracket mounts only work on the straight LED light. What brackets did you use and did you get them from Rough Country?
Had it made from the switch guy on eBay.. do search for canam switches.. message him and he will build it.. I think it was like 25 bucks. You can also use two different switches
How did you get the sound system to stay on with key off? Also I like your whip lights where did you order them from & are they easy to wire in. Bad ass machine

Very Nice. Exactly how much lift is under it? I wasn't sure if the Springs were lift springs or not. Also, the A-arms are forward 2+ arms? The reason I ask, I have a 23 Defender Max Long Star Max Cab coming in a couple weeks and would like to run the same Tires or maybe 33" Boggers and would like to get it all coming. I believe the 23 models have Different A-Arms on them with 30" tires factory so not sure how much lift it would take if any. Thanks, I enjoy your Videos
With 33 and forward a arms you will be fine. I only added s3 springs to mine to clear 35’s. I recommend the super atv or s3 arms as they are 2” and you can use factory sway bar if you want.
@@RockyRohde I went with the 35s as well because the 33s were out of stock. The s3 springs are not lift springs Correct? Just HD to regain/prevent sag? Is a Clutch kit necessary or just better for just cruising around and maybe light trails? No mud or hardcore trails in my future.

Hey Rock, Got my machine, door seals suck on the new door. Dealership just scratch their head on how to get to seal. At least yours look straight. Question; What exhaust extension are you running and where did you purchase! Its the little things. Thank you Sir! G
Hey Rocky. We have the same model as you and are doing alot of the same things. I'm curious about the attachment of the CamLocker box. I've searched compression fittings and couldn't figure out what that was. Do you have a link to these or a picture so I can buy them. I saw the box doesn't come with mounting hardware so I want to make sure we get everything we need when we order it. Also, for your fender flares did you need to cut anything on them or were they an easy install? I see yours don't go all the way down to the rock slides toward the back of the cab so Im confused on which fender flares you have. They don't look like the Sport ones on Canams site but the back doesn't look like the regular OEM ones either.
So 35’s will for sure clear with the 2” forward super atv arms on a lonestar max? About to order them if so. Jakes arms are double the price but do advertise that they will clear 35-37’s . Super atv says 32’s
All depends on tire width.. Super Atv did clear 35’s for me with s3 springs also.. Jakes will clear 37’s.. Do you want to run your swaybar? Then you will need super atv. Do you plan to run full size steering stops? You lose turning radius with steering stops. The more forward the arm the more the axle will bind in 4x4. If you turn to sharp in 4 wheel drive the axle will snap. I milled my stops down and never had an issue with 2” arms. If you plan to run 37’s get the Jakes.. They also have some lift built in so you will probably need to to the rears also or you will be high in the front. Hope this helps…
Thanks! I don’t plan on ever getting 37’s, I have 35” system 3 xtr370’s on the way so hopefully they’ll clear! Lol I went ahead and ordered the super atv arms, new ball joints, and the tie rods. They were running a sale on arms I couldn’t pass up.
Good morning, If you can, can you please post a list of all of the parts and the part numbers that you have installed with this video? I have this same unit on order right now. It won’t be delivered until December or January from Can-Am because of the supply issues that we are experiencing. In the meantime I’m doing my research on accessories that I like to personalize my unit like you have. If you have any other pointers, can you please share those as well? Thank you for your time, Mark Davis Sr.
Just got my 2023 Lone star today. I bought the tusk mounts for the light whips but it seems like the back window glass is too tight. does your glass touch the mounts? Did you run into that problem?
@rockyrohde Was there a certain fender flare that fit with the stock skid plate for the rear bottom flares or did you cut them to fit around the skid plate? My CanAm flares look to be the bigger size also so you may not know.. Dealership will have to figure these out with the lonestar belly/skid plate for me, unless someone else knows. Not drilling until I get a better answer.
I called Rough Country and didn't know anything about a regular bar bracket. 🤷♂anything else I could tell them. I even tried telling him to look your SXS up.
Badass rig man! I’m just right down the road from you in Blessing. How did you hardwire the halo’s to a rocker switch? I already ordered the Corbin harness.
Harness was a Corbin accessory. I just wired it up to the rocker with + power. I used the wires that run through firewall. Added a fuseable link under hood from winch power and used another wire to push power back out to harness.
Rough Country curved Black series light bar....Rough Country says they don't make a curved for Can Am! LOL can you tell me what you have so I can order it. what are the mounts for it? thank you

Could you give me the model numbers for the Ram charger and mount? Not having much luck with their website. Thank you!
Was there a certain fender flare that fit with the stock skid plate for the rear bottom flares or did you cut them to fit around the skid plate?
Awesome rig. Loving your channel. Lots of good info. Where did you get your compression fittings to mount your box in the bed? Thanks
Thanks for watching.. Amazon link below

That’s what you have holding box in the bed? @@RockyRohde
Yes
got the brackets from rough country, they aren't lining up. Did you have to bend yours to make them fit?
Yeah they flex
@@RockyRohde Thx for helping
Did your Ram Mount come with screws? I bought all the same you did and didn’t get screws.
Awesome video . Looking for the same mount and phone charger. Can you send me link ?
Ram mounts.. it’s been a while since I ordered
Thank you great looking machine I appreciate the info.
Thanks for watching!!
Did you do a video on the sound proofing you did behind the back seats? I would like to do that to my next one.
I should have but didn’t.. it’s not to bad just a little time consuming..
@@RockyRohde Please do lol
Good morning,
If you can, can you please post a list of all of the parts and the part numbers that you have installed with this video? I have this same unit on order right now. It won’t be delivered until December or January from Can-Am because of the supply issues that we are experiencing. In the meantime I’m doing my research on accessories that I like to personalize my unit like you have. If you have any other pointers, can you please share those as well? Thank you for your time, Mark Davis Sr.
I added a list to video description
Do you happen to have the part numbers for the XMR OEM fender flares and hardware?
I don’t but looked them up on partzilla
Is that a curved 50" light bar from Rough Country? I don't see a complete kit so I'm guessing you have to buy everything separate?
Yes it’s the 50” curved black series. I purchased brackets separately from rough country. Uses the same brackets as standard 50” bar
how did you get those mounts? did it come with ? i ordered same light bar and it only came with the basic roof mounts?
Rough Country mounts.. you have to call
Cool ride bro but jeep Rubicon is probably cheaper 😆
Have one of those 392 rubicons also.. check out my latest video
@@RockyRohde😂
Funny, but not far from the truth. Sweet machines though, no doubt.
Yeah but it’s a Jeep so no one wants it 😂
Get a older rubi for what one of these cost lol
What a awesome ride! I wonder what others paid for there unit, I was just quoted out the door 2023 $40,717 does this seem right??
Yeah should be around 33 sticker, 750 freight, 750 prep, plus tax….
$38,527 out the door.. I was also quoted one for $49k from another dealer shop around
2023 max limited on order, tax, 30 month extended warranty, snorkel parts & labor 39k exactly out the door.
Just got my 2023 Lone star today. I bought the tusk mounts for the light whips but it seems like the back window glass is too tight. does your glass touch the mounts? Did you run into that problem?
Can you provide the link for the LED light bar mounts?
It’s the same brackets rough country uses on standard straight light bar..
Can you give me a link to where you ordered the mirrors? I can’t seem to find them. Thanks!
Got them from my dealer.. Partzilla still didn’t show available
Pretty much out of stock everywhere.
I can’t remember 100% I believe I installed Xmr flares with zero issue
@@RockyRohde ok, will get it figured out. You've got nice upgrades. I am mimicking some of your mods :)
@jeffboersma221 Thanks!! Stay tuned I have another unique build going together this week. Going to do a video on it Friday
sweet looking defender!!!
I called Rough Country and didn't know anything about a regular bar bracket. 🤷♂anything else I could tell them. I even tried telling him to look your SXS up.
also will that plate work for the winch with synthetic rope in its original location? I have a 23 limited max defender ordered. Appreciate your help.
With your curved light bar, can you still open your windshield?
Yes
Badass rig man! I’m just right down the road from you in Blessing. How did you hardwire the halo’s to a rocker switch? I already ordered the Corbin harness.
Harness was a Corbin accessory. I just wired it up to the rocker with + power. I used the wires that run through firewall. Added a fuseable link under hood from winch power and used another wire to push power back out to harness.
@@RockyRohde easy enough! Thanks for the reply! I haven’t gotten my Lonestar in yet. Just ordering all the accessories for it while I wait.
Did you have to put in a clutch kit for the bigger tires?
I did gear reduction in transmission
Do the springs give you 2" lift? then no lift from the arms just 2'' forward? so I could get the arms and use the bracket lift? for the same result.
About 1.5” with s3 on a cab model.. the bracket lift may be an issue with aftermarket arms..
Is your 50” light bar curved?Rough Country only shows a straight. Part# 71007, videos are very informative. Thank you for your time!
That's correct you have to call RC and convince them it fits the Curve 50" on the HD 10 Max.
Rough Country curved Black series light bar....Rough Country says they don't make a curved for Can Am! LOL can you tell me what you have so I can order it. what are the mounts for it? thank you
It’s the 50 curved black.. the brackets are the same ones they sell with straight bar.. have to call them.. my dealer had brackets in stock..
Light bar brackets- where did you get them? Did you sell your camo xmr?
Rough country brackets.. yes I sold xmr
Been looking at the same exact model, how would you say it rides? Is it pretty smooth with those springs?
Yes… it rides good no issues
@@RockyRohde Do you have any surging at low speeds
Nice unit, I got the same plate of my Ranger
