It's good and solid no doubt but I'll stick with Victorinox. One thing I noticed with the pliers on this as well as the scissors, is that when you operate them both jaws/blades move. The same as on my Bokerplus knife which is made in the same factory as Ruike. This is very disconcerting if you are trying to grab or cut something small, with Victorinox one jaw/blade stays still, and the other moves. I will often miss a hair or something I'm trying to cut with the Bokerplus scissors.
Also although the blade steel is better, Victorinox blades cut better than a lot of very expensive knives with high end blade steels. This is because blade geometry is more important than blade steel. This knife seems to have a very thick spine so it isn't as slicey.

True. The Victorinox scissors are the best

Ruike with its L41/LD41 and L51/LD51 as well as Roxon with their KS2 Elite have done something I'm not sure Victorinox has ever done in 100+ years: build a knife with an in line Phillips AND an in line awl.

Ive had a few Victorinox knockoffs. I still have the Victorinox and don't know where the knockoffs are.

Well we all know and love our SAK.
This is a good multitool/knife, definitely.
Plus tell me any SAK groupie who wouldn't want another piece of hardware in their collection.
Thanks man , great video as always.

Dayum that's a nice bit of kit! The spring system for the pliers and scissors is much more resilient-looking and the blade thickness looks generous.

    1. It is not cheap china quality, it is well made. 2. like the G10 scales on it. 3. it is more robust made.4. it is not a victorinox killer, the Ruike knife is to heavy for me as a edc knife, 5. missing other tools like magnifying glass in victorinox quality. But i agree Ruike is a nice multitool but for me it can not replace my Victorinox Swiss Champ or my Victorinox Explorer. The steel 12C27N is not the best steel, would like at least N690 steel for the blade like Fox Vulpis. Vulpis have even a option with M390 blade.

Not sure if it is a "killer", but it is a worthy competitor for sure. I have it, it looks great, it works fine.

You didn't mention the best part. Its got an actual useable blade steel. 12c27 heat treated to a useable hardness.
It's a bit chunky but I EDC my LD-51b with a thumbstud and locking blade everyday in a slim phone case converted belt pouch.

I got my first Swiss Army knife (the largest one they made at the time) 65 years ago when I was 14 years old, an Air Force dependent in the Panama Canal Zone. That knife was my pride and joy for many years until it went missing somewhere along the many twists and turns of my life. This new knife may be nice and that's fine. But in my mind it will never match or exceed the quality and pride of ownership of a Swiss Army Knife. ❤

Around 50+ years ago I worked with a young Swiss gentleman. I showed him my Victorinox Tinker knife and he showed me his Swiss army-issued knife, made by Wenger. I reckon the Swiss army had several knife contractors.

Ruike is a whole different experience than the Swiss Army Knife of your Dad.
It is built stronger with G10 scales, stainless steel liners, deep carry pocket clip and more robust tools than SAK's.
Before the SAK die hards comment, they should check one out...they are the modern SAK.
If I was going to an alien planet to help set up a new colony, I definately would take a Ruike with me.

The only upgrade I see is a thicker blade, scissors look more robust and real tweezers.Would’ve been nice to see an upgraded toothpick made of titanium or stainless steel. And cutting wiring is great, but cutting the insulation back with ease and no chance of cutting one’s fingers is more important.

heres a comment from another guy bc im too lazy to write in my own words

Every tool seems about 30% thicker than it needs to be. I like the spring designs. Just wish it went on a diet and slimmed down a bit.
