#mlmwesternmonth #Unforgiven #4kreview Развлечения
I own this 4k disc myself. But I've been a fan of this film since 1992 on VHS. "Unforgiven" is the BEST modern Western I've ever seen. 10/10.
Clint Eastwood - 'The Outlaw Josey Wales' is another great movie by Clint Eastwood. Not sure if it is on 4k yet, but you should watch it anyway.
I wish 🤞 The Outlaw Josey Wales has yet to be released by Warner Bros on 4K.
Unforgiven is a fantastic western that gains more weight if you've seen most of Clints previous westerns.......it's a fantastic close to his career in The Old West.
Unforgiven is my favorite Western of All Time and my #16 favorite movie of All Time. Glad to hear you loved it so much!
Dude I really did! It would probably land in my top 25 at least!
This movie is really good storytelling at its finest. Everything leads up to that chilling finale in the saloon. When Clint shows up with that shotgun at the end, oh man it's epic and you know he's not screwing around
One of my favorite movies.. I'm not a big western fan but this is something to see for sure, From Morgan Freeman to Gene hackman all great
Great vid Ken, loved the intro.
It's always great when u watch an older movie for the first time and it becomes an instant classic 👍
Thanks!
This and 3:10 to Yuma are my two favourite modern westerns. So frickin' brilliant. Pale Rider is also an absolute classic for Eastwood, and could almost be called a prequel to Unforgiven.
Amazing movie and agree definitely in my top 20 of all times too
Well done review. I haven’t seen this movie in years but one scene that always stuck with me was after the kid shot one of the guys. His first one ever and despite all his tough talk just can’t come to grips with what he did. Clint tells him “It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. You take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.” Powerful stuff.
I loved that part of the film and just the way they treated death and killing throughout. You really felt the weight of it all and that line is definitely powerful.
Hey Ken, Glad to see you explore outside your usual, we all need to do that, there are so many great movies out there to see instead of restricting ourselves to certain time period or genre. I'm digging your Western month. Gene Hackman is a great actor and is one of my favorites too. 👍👍
Good call I need to do this too there are so many classic movies I've never seen just because for some reason or another just didn't sound like my thing and I just didn't get around to watching them.
Really loving getting out of my comfort zone!
If you liked this you should try 3:10 to Yuma, the Russell Crowe, Christian Bale 4k version, great film.
Keep up the good work. 👍
I'll be watching 310 this month!
1st time I saw Unforgiven was at the theatre that I worked at. My friend n I got there early so we watched Army of Darkness then saw Unforgiven. Man that was an awesome double feature. Lol. Unforgiving is the perfect western movie, but Pale Rider is another good one by Clint Eastwood. U really can’t go wrong with Eastwood in a western movie. Lol.
Dude! That sounds like an insane double feature!
Wait till you see. Val Kilmer in Tombstone as Doc holiday. One of the best performances I’ve seen.
Yes! I'll be reviewing that soon!
This and Pale Rider are my 2 favorite westerns. Very similar movies, both excellent.
Hey your videos are getting better and better! Would you consider making a rating system for movies so we know how ‘much’ you liked it? It can have different types of metrics like audio, visuals, story, etc. or just an overall film score but you cover so much media you should consider it! Keep on pushing man we appreciate it!
Thanks man. I used to do a scoring system, but I find people get too hung up on the numbers. I just like talking about the release and whether or not I like it. May bring it back though at some point.
Love this movie and looks terrific on 4k. We really need Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch" on 4k as well.
Just watched Wild Bunch! It would definitely make a great 4K!
I'm glad you loved it, Ken! All this love makes me happy
One of my first 4Ks
Awesome!
Open Range is a good western. The finale has a nice shootout.
It's on the list!
Awesome filter on the intro Ken. Just wanted to let you know I reached 100 subscribers today!!
Awesome man! Keep grinding!
Tombstone is a good western movie
Richard Harris who played English Bob is a stellar actor. One he was in called Major Dundee
with Charlton Heston , was a pretty good War/Western
Was disappointed when we lost him. Wish he could have finished his take on Professor Dumbledore.
Harris and Peter O’Toole were known to raise a lot of Cain in their youth.
Some have said Unforgiven is the continued story of Pale Rider, something to think about while watching them.
You sold me, now I’m gonna watch it! Love Clint Eastwood
Hope you enjoy it!
I'm with you, i LOVE it too. Saw it when it came out. Totally engrossing. I want the 4K but need the slip
Just on another level!
Ken thanks for the review and all your opinions. Really enjoyed it. Are you going to do like a top 5 or top 10 westerns? Thanks
Thanks for watching! When the month is over, I'll consider it.
I’m glad you’re so excited Ken. I saw this on its release in a theater. Yep I was even over 30 at the time. This is real cinema. I’m not at all into the cookie cutter comic book cgi shit that passes for film now. Sad. So keep exploring the great films when the studios still produced them. ☮️
Yeah. This one blew me away!
All Clint Westerns are good. But my top one is High Plains Drifter. All the rest are 2nd lol - Stay Safe, Be Safe!!!
May I suggest you check out the tv mini series Lonesome Dove. It is probably one of the best Westerns ever made.
I totally agree.
Great movie! I saw It with my Dad in the movie theater. I also like Pale Rider.
I need to see that one!
Can't believe you hadn't seen it b4. What a movie, it's everything you said at the start. A++++
\
Glad I've seen it now!
Yes, it's a total masterpiece! Well said.
Blew me away!
If you enjoyed those Clint Eastwood movies, I have to recommend High Plains Drifter before your western month ends. I don’t even much like westerns (but I love Clint), but that movie is so good
I'm going to wait for the Kino 4K to watch that.
Yeah unforgiven is amazing and a great way to follow up the dollars trilogy. Excited to hear what you think of the rest!
Such a fantastic film!
A Classic film The Unforgiven, Clint Eastwood is made for the part, you must check out Once Upon A Time in the West, also The Wild Bunch, another classic western.
Just finished Wild Bunch!
Ken see high plains drifter & Tombstone!!!
Good review - Unforgiven is cult western. Have you seen Dustin Hoffman in Little Big Man and Paul Newman in Judge Roy Bean.
Great to se your enthusiasm.
Thanks Paul!
I own this 4k.... great movie
The Japanese remake of Unforgiven with Ken Watanabe is really good too.
That cracking great screenplay by David Webb Peoples was written at least a decade before the film was made. Eastwood bought it and waited a decade so he could age into the role. It was a passion project for everyone involved. And I don't think Eastwood ever did another true western after. It was his swan song to his participation in the genre.
I have never watched this movie all the way through only parts of it I need to watch it. Have you seen Young Guns 1 & 2 those are my two favorite Western movies. Also I watch on H&I tv every day Westerns they have a block some good ones are Wanted Dead or Alive,Have Gun Will Travel that's my favorite and Rawhide have you watched any of those. Also another good one directed by Sam Raimi is The Quick and the Dead. Sorry to ramble and Deadwood is an amazing show too that's a must watch.
Film was masterful for Eastwood. I remember seeing Batman Returns and they showed a preview for this and the audience went NUTS!
It was just so good!
Wonderful movie
I have this movie on HD DVD but if the 4k transfer is good I'll double dip because it's one of my favorite movies of all time
It's great!
Glad you loved it Ken!! It is probably in my top 20 favorite movies as well. It is the only Western in that list too. Thanks for the review. The 4k is wonderful as well because the DVD and blu ray transfers were bad.
Should I review it on my collecting movie channel as well?
@@megamikethemovieman Yeah I think it would be a good title to review.
Definitely a top 20 movie!
Hostiles with Christian Bale is another good modern western. Also " The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford " is another good western.
Hostiles is on the list!
The English guy is wonderfully played by great star Richard Harris, who did his share of westerns, partiicularly A MAN CALLED HORSE, which I recommend to you.
Loved him
Hostiles in 4K bro.
Tombstone's needs to be in 4K. Hoping Disney somehow gets it done.
Disney restoring Tombstone actually makes me imagine I’ll be sticking with my Blu-ray lol.
Hostiles with Christian Bale
Violent _ but good 👍
This is the better film, but Tombstone is my favorite western.
I'll be reviewing Tombstone soon!
Watch the quick and the dead with Sharon stone, Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gene Hackman it’s a great movie too, and Gene Hackman is pure evil.
The new cover art is disappointing. I wish they would’ve kept the original cover art of him standing with his back towards you holding his gun, showing his full height with the other characters (Hackman, Freeman and Harris), and also the brown background with “Unforgiven” written in orange font. I love Clint Eastwood’s face as much as anyone, but I hate how modern cover arts just show faces with the title of the movie. Packaging and cover art is just as important as the image and sound restoration to a lot of physical collectors, at least for me. I unfortunately will be passing on this release based on that.
I like the image, but I get what you're saying. I believe there is a 4K Steelbook out there? May want to check that out?
One of the best parts of this movie is the exaggeration of the myth of the old west. Just take in how the story grows regarding what was done to the girl by the two henchmen. At one point the legend was they cut off her nose and in reality the story was not as gruesome as described. Murder isnt glorious as told in many westerns… it’s cold and ugly.
Richard Harris character English Bob is another example how legend isn’t the truth. English Bob was a sniveling coward that would shoot his nemesis in the back.
Great points!
If you haven't played Red Dead Redemption 2 yet, you owe it to yourself.
I dont understand all the hype for this movie bc it is just ok at best and not as good as everyone says it is there is lot better Western then unforgiven that nobody really talks about as much as this film like pal rider the good the bad and the ugly and even young guns 1 & 2 and open range and tombstone are better films then unforgiven and don't get me wrong Clint Eastwood is amazing actor and a very good film director and again cool video and keep them coming
boo. Your opinion is wrong haha
What ever way overrated western film bc even the quick and the dead is better then unforgiven
@@tomboling2309 hmm, how do we resolve this then? Let's play a little game called "who has the most oscars " . I have 4.
I agree, it’s kind of a boring movie at times. I prefer the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, we got to stick together on my channel.
So you are saying just bc unforgiven won Oscars that make it a good film not all films that win Oscar's are that good bc there is some films that are very overrated that win Oscar's like unforgiven very overrated
