the first step is incorrect according to several other videos I've watched on this knot. Tag end should go behind not in front.

Three minutes to videotape a knot that takes 20 seconds to tie, and a marginally effective knot at that. Simpler is always better. Simple loop knot to attach a fly, double surgeons knot to attach tippet. Don’t over think it.
Still can’t get it, went too quickly about the 3rd loop and finishing the knot
Kind of like the confused child of a bowline and an overhand on a bite. That extra bulk in the knot must certainly help retain strength.

It’s easy once you get it down it’s just hard to find good instructions online and that makes it look more complicated than it really is. Go to the netknots website they have an animation you can pause throughout. It’s a good site to learn many knots because a lot of times I’ve seen diagrams and RUclips videos tying knots incorrectly.
I just think this loop knot is WAAAAAY too complicated. Unnecessarily so. Just stop the vid at 1:47. There are many other loops out there, and as far as I can tell, they're all simpler.
