Actually, he shouldn't be playing in the tournament because he basically committed fraud for a vaccine exemption. He forged his papers with the help of some dodgy Serbian labs because his best chance of not requiring a vaccine was to pretend to have had a past infection. There are videos of him partying showing no signs of symptoms and meeting fans when he says he was infected. He also met kids. We know his papers were forged because there were irregularities in the dates of his tests and the test numbers, even the QR code on the test results didn't link to a negative result.

@@dorianshadesofgray You're absolutely correct from the perspective of a Westerner -- I pressume? Novak comes from an old distinguished Serbian family dating back
to the time of Medieval Serbia (Wikipedia) and he was always aware of that. His customs and religion are important to him, and that rests on his integrity and general comportment. He is far wiser than his years.
When he is booed in the West he is simultaneously praised in the East, thanks to today's state-of-the-art technology. He still continues to joke and that endears him in the East. When he became the World Number 1, the fans in the East and some fans in the West were shocked at the disrespect he received in the English-speaking countries (particularly Australia and America) over the issue of vaccination. The West in the last couple of years came to understand that Novak sticks to his guns and that to them now commands respect. The World is not polarized (never has been and never will be) when it comes to sports or anything else.
