@@nicolasbauerishornierthant1532 No the original composer was Rob Dougan but it was a song that had electronic music with a few piano segments. This version I believe is Roland's piano remix/arrangement. There's like a million different remixes/arrangements of this song but I think this one is the best piano version.
@@LetoAtreides82 Yeah, I have listened to various piano versions of this melody and I, too, find this particular piece to be the best one I have heard. These three and a bit minutes are actually my very favorite thing to listen to in the world!
That was so much more than what I was expecting it might be. Dougan's song itself is a very special one, with many beautiful underlying melodies, and this performance and arrangement did it justice. Well done, and thank you.
@@mujeeb1988 Thank you. Had no idea that Dougan had "borrowed" the main theme from which he developed "Clubbed to Death" from Elgar. He chose the section from which to borrow wisely. Never regarded Elgar particularly highly, but that main theme is special. For me though, other than for the few variations that more distinctly utilized the main theme, the rest of the variations are, at least at a first listen, largely forgettable. Sort of like how I feel about Carmina Burana, e.g...
@@mujeeb1988 Agree, Dougan's "variation" is airtight, no weaknesses anywhere. But, it is, as you've taught me, directly using and deriving from Elgar's main theme from his variations, so I must give credit where it's due. That said, after a supposed 100 billion humans on earth, "originality" is a fiction, and I wonder where Elgar got his own "inspiration" for the theme from. Wish he would've been able to have gotten more such inspiration, so that he would've been able to fill out his variations better. Don't know "The Mass" by Era (at least I'm guessing Era is the artist[s]), but I'm guessing it's a similar situation to Dougan's "Clubbed?" "Clubbed" is to the Enigma Variations, as "The Mass" is to Carmina Burana? I'll give it a listen when I can. As well done as "Clubbed" is, and "The Mass" may be, obviously Dougan and Era and their ilk have an advantage in this particular segment of their works, as obviously they're only doing one movement, as opposed to a whole slew of others, such as is the case for, e.g., The Enigma and Carmina. And, more importantly, they are "borrowing" highly distinctive melodies (with "good hooks," as pop/rock music composers would call it) as central themes for their pieces.

I didn't know that but it's true. I'm now watching a youtube video titled Episode 15: The Enigma Variations By Edward Elgar, it explains how Edward came up with the tune back in the late 1800's.
This is the best rendition of this track on piano I have heard
that dude composed the original thing which was later adapted into matrix.
