Looking to purchase a similar set up . I have pavers … anyone seen any good setups for that . I’ve seen a few videos of pvc pipes on the base . I’m looking for the plow to mostly push and not be in a scooping position
Keeping your blade waxed helps to reduce drag ... On my big tractor I actually use paraffin wax on the scrapper blade and the bucket... the paraffin reduces drag and also keeps the bucket and scraper blade from rusting... its cheap and you can apply it many different ways... I paint it on and use a way to smooth it out... ( Im purposely vague )
On your left handle grip is a yellow button. When in reverse press the yellow button and it will engage. Wheel reverse…without engaging your reverse will only engage the 2 rear wheels even if you are in 4 wheel. Second thing is only plough in 4 wheel low. Your machine will perform better and your engine/ belt will thank you. With hat much snow take your 1st pass with the plough only moving half the depth, 2nd pass the other half of the snow depth. From then on just take half plough with passes.
There is an adjustment on the plow that makes the plow blade tilt more forward for a more aggressive “cut”. It’s the bolt assembly near the large springs. Loosen them and rotate them. It’ll make a big difference on how close you dig in to the pavement
I will give you a few tips. 1. Always plow in Low gear. You'll have a little easier time pushing. 2. After plowing in wet snow, us WD 40 on the shear pin (less chance for it to freeze up over night) 3. Like another commenter had said easier to do if you don't have to do it all at the same time. Bonus tip- if you ever shear the shear pin (in the handle that angles the plow) you can get another use by flipping it over.
@@Channelofdk No problem. I have a 2016 570 and use it all the time for plowing ...also I think if you had your plow angled all the way either left or right you might have been able to plow that sidewalk
Good point, sure that law applies where I am. My neighbor has plow service and push it across I kinda follow suit. I have kinda gotten better at stacking last few storms.
For your size driveway, and with a truck in the way, the ATV is total overkill. You'd have a much better clean (And probably easier, too) with a snowblower. Just look at the driveway across the St. A good single stage blower like a Toro works great. Once you get a path cut, you can take half passes and throw the snow 30' onto the lawn. I use an ATV as well but I have a private drive that is 1/8th mile long and my parking lot, where my garage is located, is about 20x the size of your driveway. (I'm in the country) It really shines where you can keep up the speed and wing the snow into the woods. I still use a blower for the tight spots around my vehicles and walking paths.
Well, it is only 2 months old! No issues so far, but I don't beat on them, or bury them in mud. Strictly riding and plowing. We shall see. 10 years before I blew a belt on my 2008 Kawasaki 750 Brute Force, I should be that lucky. I also always just let the dealership take care of maintenance and issues. @@Ekmanjohnny
Low gear only.. if big snow event.. go out plow 2x to keep ahead of it…. You trail ride or hunt too? Tiny driveway for that machine. Whatever.. I’m getting one this summer too Have fun
Yes done some trail rides with it and use a family members atv for hunting so I don’t have to lug mine. Driveway is small but at my age shoveling sucks. !! 🍻
Plowing sounds like a good idea tell you have no where to push the snow. I have seen more than 3 guys in my town get a new plow and only use it once then it’s for sale right away. Snow blower is still the way to go if you live in town.
Both actually. The driveway is blacktop but on one side I added a 4 ft gravel extension the whole length. On gravel side I tried not to plow all the way into the earth.
@@Channelofdk my buddy uses his wheeler to plow his driveway and we just talked about this. He said his struggled trying to do 2’ or more but rips when it’s 12” or less. So he just plows more offen
You might try adding fluid in your tires. Growing up in farm country this is common practice in tractors especially 2wd ones. I have 2 vintage garden tractors I use for snow removal here in northern Ohio. We get a lot of wet snow too. One has a blade and one has a 42" front mount blower. I put 5 gallons of winter blend washer fluid in both rear tires and it makes a BIG difference in traction pushing deep snow. That's only about 40 lb per tire I could probably fit another gallon in each tire but I don't think it's necessary, if it gets much deeper than a foot I just use the blower tractor anyhow. But having that fluid directly in your tire can make the difference between being able to push and not.
Definitely put it in low gear when plowing that much snow I just bought a Yamaha Kodiak 700 and a 60in plow whenever I plow I put a bag of salt on the racks for some weight and I keep it low gear it really impressed me how well it worked! Also in some places I will admit I do have lockers front and rear and the power of the 700 yanked it right out so I didn’t get stuck but still very happy! Awesome video tho!
@@tonys_toolshed4887 those Kodiaks are a beast!!!! Anything Yamaha touches is gold. What most people don’t see is this was test run. Made few passes in low some in high, just getting feel how reacted. The plow came with it even tho didn’t need it. But solved that problem by moving to FL and now sweep sand off my driveway!
Use 4low for pushing snow, your belt will thank you.
I have a plow on my wife's 850.... most fun I've had all winter. I added 50lbs of weight to my blade and it helps dig down to get hard pack
Nice ! I shoveled last 2 years and I had enough of that crap.

plow in low, easy rule to have ;)
Works great for a 450 !!! A lot better than shovelling it all
It did move some serious snow. Wish I hadn’t waited to buy until my last winter before moving to FL.
Raise plow where you want to stack snow. I live in NY. It is illegal to push snow across roads in most ares.
Good point, sure that law applies where I am. My neighbor has plow service and push it across I kinda follow suit. I have kinda gotten better at stacking last few storms.
What isn’t illegal in NY
@craigerie4296 no kidding…. Glad I got out.

Now you know you got yourself a toy. I just got the 2023 XP 1000s Polaris. Now that takes care of the snow!
Did it come with its own mechanic?

Or you have idiots like me that buy em and move to Florida the following year. Much easier to sell a snow blower
cool video man but if i were you i think i would invest in the Rammy snowblower attachment for your 4 wheeler
Those are pretty sick! Not a bad idea!
I studded my stock tires and just used them for plowing. Makes a big difference, tire chains are a pain

Interesting way to do it. I get the concept and makes sense. I’ll check out see if there some videos on doing that.
Oth the amount of snow you get in Buffalo invest in the the Berco snowblower for your ATV. You will love it and it will do a much better job.
Good point but sold the machine and we packed up and moved to Florida. I hope to never see snow again!!

Low gear dude…..otherwise you’ll have no torque in High and you run the risk of burning your belt up.
For sure, next few plows kept it in low and went much smoother.
Someone needs to teach this guy how to plow, he also did not read the owners manual, it appears to be in 2wd and in high gear.

No worries. For sure next plow made huge difference!
If you go out and plow every 5-6” it’s easier on the machine my 850 struggles with 20”
For sure, next few I waited and was much easier on the machine
Did you forget 4x4 at the first push ? ;)
Yep. Should kept it in 2 for while just test it out then switch to 4x4 looking back. I like to compare crap like that.
Looks like you're better off with a snow blower
Honestly for that small driveway a snowblower would have done you better.
52” or 60”?
60 if I recall
Umm. This the first snow storm u people have ever gotten? Momma mia...
It’s buffalo lol been snowing since the Dino’s
Put the plow down
Brilliant !
Get a snowblower
You should be fined for pushing snow on the street
