Warn ProVantage Plow on a Polaris Sportsman 500

- This is my 1997 Polaris Sportsman 500 plowing about 3-4" of wet heavy snow with the Warn ProVantage plow system (78954).
This ATV is just the right size for my snow plowing needs. Even with its compact size, it still makes quick work of residential driveways and even has some strengths over plowing with a pickup truck. I can easily get into tight areas of the driveway to ensure every inch is cleared. The ATV is especially useful on sidewalks. It is also most profitable since an average house in an urban area has less than 30’ of sidewalk frontage. I hop out, shovel the steps, drop the plow and make one pass on the sidewalk and I'm on to the next property in under 5 minutes. It is best to get contracts with property management companies that own many houses in a small area for sidewalk plowing.

Pretty awesome to see a near "antique" Polaris atv, plowing with ease. The engine sounds great.
I plowed yesterday with my sportsmanship 570 my favorite part to do it’s actually heck of a lot fun
Cool beans! I just made one for my Yamaha warrior from a metal can. I don't have the funds available to buy a proper rig so I made one with what I had in the garage
Awesome! You got enough snow to run the plow.
Nice job.
I got my GoPro camera just a little too late, I am looking forward to making plow vidjas with my ATV and Tractor this coming winter.
Nice going
I graduated from plow to blower. It will be a good winter.
nice four wheeler keep up the cool videos
Thanks will do!
@@HMartinFilms hay dude i got a wicked video idea text back and i will tell you!!
Good that you didn't get a lot of snow there, but I think your 500 could manage a lot more than only a few inches with wet snow. I had my 520 struggle a lot with more than a feet wet snow, but it's just fun
🤩🤩🤩
What do u do I’m those commercial lots when u get a foot of snow lol
They (Polaris) don't make 'em like the used to
I wanna buy an atv and a plow. But it doesn't snow enough where I live to justify it. But the few times I'd need it would make it way more fun
Unless you have a long, narrow driveway, typically a blower is more effective. If the snow is deep and heavy, the ATV will struggle.
0:01 that’s what she said
What yellow shed is that
Where did you get the blinking amber caution lights?

It's like watching paint dry
Not to me. I love watching these videos.
Completely disagree
Where did you get your amber strobes at

theres no downward pressure right. it just floats?
Yep, its worked pretty well with just the weight of the plow
You’d be surprised how heavy these plows are!
I was wondering what you charged for the first lot in the video?
180 for 2-6 inches
Where do you live that you can actually drive an atv down the street!!?!
What kinda of plow do you have on your sportsman 500
Its a Warn Provantage Long Arm plow, the blade is PN 78954
@@HMartinFilms thanks
How wide is that blade?
Literally said it in the video.....54in
How much do you charge for doing these kinds of jobs?
Anywhere from 60-200+
How. Do you get away with driving on public roads
Another of places you can. Just requires registration and insurance like a car
It just doesn't seem like the right piece of equipment for commercial use.
Where do you live that you can drive an atv on the road. Where i live you would be in jail in 5 minutes doing that.
where's that?
YOU might not be in jail, but your quad would!
In Montana we get a license plate for $54 that’s a one time fee for the plate. As long as the atv has lights and mirrors, it’s legal for street usage.
If your plowing snow and all cops won’t mess with you
