what if i don't cry, but i think about doing what this actress does in this video to the girl who hurt me? i was told that's sign of extreme narcissistic behavior. but i get it though. i really want her to show how much she cared.
I've come to the party late via her Glastonbury performance in UK. I'm just spellbound by her music and feel I should share her music somehow. But her uniqueness makes me wonder if just random discovery is better than me expressing any kind of opinion, on what has been for me a wonderful discovery. Perhaps my personality or how friends perceive me would get in the way, of them finding such a passionate, skilled and likeable artist.
The real kicker in this video comes in the final frame when her happiness at the revenge dissolves to sadness and possibly even guilt. A powerhouse acting performance.
This song really helped me through a physically abusive relationship. It really means alot to me, so I hope she reads this and knows that she helped save me. x
+Co Cl I needed to read that right now, I just did....It's just a totally humbling experience to be a person who was judgmental about that for a long time until I was the other one in it. But I read this and that made me feel like less isolation. Merci.

Yes, and the effects can be quite profound and really catch you off guard... and anyone who’s lived in an abusive/battering or even seriously emotionally abusive relationship would likely feel much the same as well....heavy duty lyrics, visuals and emotion....yes, very much so, took me back to a time and place where I spent 4 very long, lonely years living in Hell on Earth before I was finally able to “escape” a very sadistic, cold and sociopathic ex-husband the only way that worked which was to go to court for alimony (only to get him to evade me) as opposed to his nonstop stalking and terrorizing for 4 years before that. It wasn’t enough to successfully bring charges up for the fractured skull and so very much more damage that he had inflicted on me starting, almost IMMEDIATELY after we were married, for him to stop, (no, because he was my husband there would be no jail time, nothing for any of what happened) and my never ending fear of him for the previous several years only ended with a simple warrant to show cause as to why he hadn’t paid for my totally destroyed brand new Eagle Summit vehicle that I bought him so he could get a job finally and hopefully KEEP it! At that point I just wanted to NEVER see him again and the warrant for the lump sum payment to pay the bank off kept him on the run permanently and away from me! I lost ALOT of money, friends, self esteem, self respect, much property etc, and almost lost my soul with him, but came away with my life ✝️ and that is what was most important. It’s really amazing just how strongly a bit of music, a few notes, some words and a short film clip can affect one’s life and emotions, it really put me back in a place and time that I thought I had resolved but in actuality wasn’t at all prepared to look at again....God Bless.✝️💜
i was listening to the radio and doing a jigsaw puzzle and as soon as my heart understood what beauty my ears were listening to my whole body broke out in goosebumps and i had to stop and listen until it was through. This is not even an exaggeration!
I came across this song for the first time this summer. It was a "damn, I need to listen to that one again" moment. The lyrics are not repetitive which is unique. Real emotions that want you to know more about where the origins of this song came from. Powerful and raw.
Honestly, its so dificult to answer that. Its a complex feeling that the song tries to describe: "i hate but i love you". You'll surely know sooner or later in life. Believe me. Everyone knows this feeling sometime.
Michael Stewart Some people are bad for us, but we love them so much it's hard to let them go. It's almost funny how sometimes the best things in life and the worst can coincide.
@@SallycrosbyUk I believe that the best things in life have to coincide with the worst in a lot of ways. I believe that is because it is about some kind of balance. I’ve been with somebody for 26 years and we definitely had about eight years of destructive chaos. We split up for about five years and took time to grow up and sort our shit out. We have never been more in love or stable but he is also terminally ill now. It just seems to go like that in life, at least for me. Good. Bad. Good. Bad. Hopefully in the end it all balances out. When he’s gone, I won’t focus on any of the negative stuff in our past. I focus on the beauty that we have shared and that’s what I will continue to do. And I don’t intend to move on. I refuse to give up our love even after he’s gone.
so much to be said for how completely this drew out every repressed emotion I've hidden for so long.....so much pain in love and life, but so much beauty in pain endured 🔥
Carla Juri's performance in Blade Runner: 2049 was one of my favorites in film that year. What she does in this video reminds me of something Zach Condon wrote upon the release of the The Rip Tide music vid: that sometimes a song can be constrained by its form, and a visual element can unlock a hidden vein of meaning. I can't hear The Rip Tide without visualizing that boat upon the water, and the subsequent explosion of color. Same goes for this song and the pain Juri conveys without saying a word.
i think this is one of the most accurate representations of what it is like to live in a relationship while having an abusive dynamic with alcohol. you become a double victim: you feel bad all the time, guilty all the time, you can't express your love in a healthy way. and enters this endless cycle of suffering, because he cannot contain himself. i remember watching this video (and experiencing it several times) while sinking into toxic relationships and taking it all out on drinking. God, it's so good to be in a different atmosphere. thank you, sharon, for being so vocal these issues, so sensitive.

This song describes so much how I still feel for my ex husband, so much pain he caused me but I still see myself loving him so much to the point I’m loosing my mind, the love I have for him is stronger than my own will to walk away, even knowing he will only tear my soul apart that’s why the part of” break my legs so I don’t walk to you” gets to me so much because it would take something like that to stop myself from running to him one more time

This also can convey the feeling of dating a narracist. They lure you in subtlety in, when you were usually an outgoing person, at a time in your life when you are vulnerable, and start to mimic you, and you don't realize it and they start gathering intel on you sharing close things about themselves to get you to open up, but really it's not that deep for them, but the things you shared were, and they use it against you in the slow but subtle corrections and then gradually shift to the insipid gaslighting phase, where you know you are are not going crazy your family and close friends know you but his friends and family that were nice to you initially back off suspiciously after a certain point and you are baffled and you know he must be feeding them another narrative are hoodwinked by his charisma and charm which then inevitably starts to moves to the discard phase then the Hoover phase, unless you do the ultimate slam to the narracist, leave first, which they can't handle. Then stay no contact and mean it. They will try everything. N.O. The bruised narracist./Abuser of the mind/ spirit/body/heart./Sadness You have to forgive them and yourself love yourself and move on. Have listened to this song and watched this video many times, and it just occurred to me that the song seems like it could go the other way from the POV of the guy. Very powerful, no matter what.
I could never let myself go that far in love that I could relate to this song. I’m 53 and been in multiple relationships and never found anyone worthy of giving 100%. And if you do this is what you get to feel like when it ends.
I can't belive I never heard this before a few weeks ago, on Spotify. I chose this song randomly and it paid off Allright and it tastes like more. Raw, reminds me of the band Joy Division, music wise, esp at the end, the guitar work and that voice with those lyrics, it gets me every time 😢😘

Have listened to this song and watched this video many times, and it just occurred to me that the song seems like it could go the other way from the POV of the guy. Very powerful, no matter what.
Amazing song. Amazing acting.
Its so strong and the voice so wild
Love it😎😎😎
One of my all time favorite songs
Listen to this song so many times. Still shivers.
Απίστευτη φωνή...φανταστικό κομμάτι!!!
What a rare combination of power, control, and expressiveness. Very impressive from a purely vocal standpoint. She's a mixture of Janis and Delores.
Beautiful.
Amazing song
que clipe perfeito😍😍😍
addictive! powerful, soulful, LOVE
sad but so beautyful song
I could never let myself go that far in love that I could relate to this song. I’m 53 and been in multiple relationships and never found anyone worthy of giving 100%. And if you do this is what you get to feel like when it ends.
I can't belive I never heard this before a few weeks ago, on Spotify. I chose this song randomly and it paid off Allright and it tastes like more. Raw, reminds me of the band Joy Division, music wise, esp at the end, the guitar work and that voice with those lyrics, it gets me every time 😢😘
Do not understand the joy division comparison
