My new life in Jesus Christ began in 1970 when I was 10 years old when we were living in San Diego. When I was 11 or 12 I received a clock radio for Christmas and found a radio station that played Christian Music where I heard Love Song for the very first time. My FAVORITE song was Two Hands. The music was ANOINTED and ministered to my young girl's heart and was an integral part of my walk with Jesus.
There is a scene in The Jesus Revolution where Love Song is playing in the chapel on Sunflower, then Lonnie preaches and gives an invitation. That is precisely how it happened for me. In fact, the song in the film was the same song they played when I received Jesus in March of 1970. It is an unforgettable moment in my life that changed everything for me. To be at the epicenter of all of that was incredible. I invited everyone I knew to Calvary Chapel. Now 54 years later that same Jesus is still the Lord of my life.
Watching this is like a return to my childhood! My heart is breaking and tears flow. How I miss those days. I cannot think or remember my teens without remembering the music and hearing it in my head and heart. How I remember Sat. night Maranatha concerts. Sitting on the floor of the Little Chapel and listening to Love Song play. How I miss Pappa Chuck, and his "Glorious" smile and big hugs! Nights in the Tent when the rain would leak through the tent into pots & buckets we took to church to catch the rain. We are all so much older now but it is as if no time has passed when we hear them play. It was so very special to me now, and to see all the videos popping up on the internet has been a great blessing! Thanks, guys for all the songs and countless Blessings over the years. JESUS still puts the song in our hearts!
I was there too except there was no room in the Little Chapel so we sat outside and looked in. I still remember Love Song singing Holy, Holy, Holy and people crying the Spirit was so strong.
Love song had big impact on me. My brother brought the album home and we listened to it all the time. That was in the 70’s in our Northern California town. Now I’m pastoring a church in Durham North Carolina.
Listening to them so soon after i gave my heart to the Lord helped solidify my salvation experience. It gave me a way to worship in my heart and find gratitude to God in my life .
I've been listening to you guys since the early 80's . I got saved in 79, and blown up after an earthquake. 90% of my body was burned. You guys were a great encouragement to me. I ended up minstering in Calvary Chapel. Thanks for the music!
I saw Love Song in the early 70's at my cousins church Gateway Calvary Chapel in Marysville CA. I was probably 11 years old then. I was so moved by their music that I thought of Love Song often over the years. 50+ years later I found myself in that church for a funeral for my cousin Dale. I didn't know it until I walked into the kitchen area! All the details from back then looked different but the same! I'm thrilled to hear them again online❤️🙏
I heard Freddy Fender "Before The Next Teardrop Falls" as a teenager and played it over and over singing along with it but never heard of Love Song, "Welcome Back" til recently and wow! Am playin that over and over! HalleluYah!

I recognize and respect Love Song's place in The Jesus Movement and in Christian music history. But they were so mellow. I'm glad we had more rocking bands.
Just dug out my old albums and there was Chuck Girard but I had others as well. For me a Christian concert was the ultimate in fun. Holy Spirit said this was a kick off of His end time move and it continues to this day. There was very little change in church music at all since the time of Christ only traditional hymns which I love but this music was the start of something new not just for our generation but was a new language of music that was not anything like church music ever was before. I didn’t realize it wasn’t just young people influencing music, it was God stepping into the world through music winning us to Himself and I think it was a change that has never nor will ever end and I thank Holy Spirit for revealing this to me.
Praise God for-your channel brothers…. Your music has been an important catalyst in my early days with my walk with the Lord! You have truly blessed my generation ! So Happy to see new generations come to hear your music. May His anointing continue on your music.🙏🕊🙏

My teenage years were impacted by Love Song whilst at high school in South Africa.
When I got saved Love Song was the first album I bought. I played it in our home over and over. Loved it then, and love it now. I still play it.
