I was diagnosed when I was 12, In school the Math teacher tought I was lazy and I could not explain her how hard it was to me. One time I played a game that was with money and I could not do 200-70 and someone laughed at me.

I might not have this problem but I'm glad I could make it as realistic as possible so that more people will know that this is an actual problem and won't laugh but understand. be proud of who you are you are and don't be ashamed everyone has weaknesses just some aren't strong enough to show it.

I’m sure many of us with Dyscalculia or a self diagnosis of Dyscalculia have had traumatizing experiences in school and in public with math/ numbers or directions.

Seeing this helped me come back to earth and realize that I’m not alone, and that I’m not crazy. People who don’t know about Dyscalculia tend to gaslight us and make us think that our problems are all in our head. We are not alone!

Thank you for making this video. I'm an adult with dyscalculia. I can relate. I've found it helpful to focus on my writing and creative strengths to make a living. This disability does not define you. Many of us with this disability have a very high intellect with writing, art and creativity. This is where you can find success. I started the "dyscalculia math" Facebook page. I also have made videos about my life with dyscalculia. More information needs to get out there about this disability. You are right - people don't think that someone with Dyslexia is stupid. People understand it. Start focusing on the gift that you can give the world. What are your strengths? Life can still be good even with dyscalculia my friend.:-)

Michelle : The guy who made this hasn't got dyscalculia which is why he presents it as a tragedy! He needs to grow and learn he is being as inappropriate as if he said it was a tragic disease! I'm used to cerebral palsy being treated like this but DYSCALCULIA? Give me a break!

I have dyscalculia too. Iv`e always been very slow at learning any math concepts. I know enough to get by in life but I can`t do very many calculations in my head. I only know a few of my times tables and even addition and subtraction are tricky sometimes. I`m an adult now and I`m still not much better at Math than I was in elementary school. I remember every science fact in the world, I`m an avid reader, ect. I can do any thing else except math. I`m happy to know I`m not struggling alone.

When I was in school, I was SO bad at maths! I even ended up with an F as my final GCSE exam result. The teachers and pupils just thought I was dumb. I even thought I was dumb! The numbers would just totally confuse me and all mix up in my head. As a 23 year old now I'm not so ashamed of myself as I'm understanding dyscalculia. Not many people have even heard of this. So I really hope the word spreads out wide :) Even writing the date is difficult to me, I know the date, but the numbers just won't go! I barely know my times tables- apart from 5's and 10's, and I can't add up to save my life!

Thank you Eddie. It's so inspiring to see the desire to step in another persons shoes; to make an attempt at understanding. You captured the feeling well. BTW I looked at your channel. I'm here because my camera broke and I need a new one. How frustrating to love photography with dyscalculia. I also love psychics, chemistry, electricity and astrology. I keep trying to grasp it all without being able to recall mathematical relationships. I use cheat sheets to remind me of the distances involved in light/radiation impacting the ionosphere. Light and sound - all measured in wavelengths and oscillations and given designation according to the language in each realm of study.
Translations of temperature, millimeters vs inches, kilometers vs feet. How do I visualize distance? I use a football field or the building I live in. It's 60 feet long. To understand a mega-zoom lens, I convert meters into feet and relate it to things I know. A yardstick, 36 inches or 3 feet, half a football field, an acre. These are things I can visualize.
Oh well, thanks for the fish. Er, I mean thanks for the rant!

Inspiring ? The guy doesn't have it! How is it a good thing that he made something like this? Can't you see he is just self promoting his drama skills?

I face the same problem. I live in fear all the time and isolate myself to save myself from embrassment. Life with dyscalculia is very depressing and stressful. I avoid calculations and numbers as much as possible but on unfortunate occasions when I come across calculations I become numb and start panicking and feel absolutely blank, utterly embarrassed. It's a curse to have this disability. I wish to live in a world without numbers.

you are pretty smart dude, just use your fingers, 10,9..etc. You answered 21 because you have taken too much responsibility, got shy, thought too much about time pressure, face loss, and different other things except the calculating methods. It is all about the methods man believe me. You are much more smarter than you think and you know it

As for using words like 'dumb" in a disability context - go away and clean up your act as a disability ally before you try to advance someone else's cause! How to prepetuate ablism against mutism and the Deaf community! UGH!
