Phi Le I knew what your point was but since he is a wholesaler it is the next best thing. Plus if you like his practices I am sure a relationship with him would only improve a store.
Thomas Brown hey thomas, i totally get the wholesaler lfs relationship, but the problem im having is Tony can take care of the fish to the best of his abilities. but when he ships these fish/ corals to most LFS that are junkie and are out to make $. the healthy fish would just be coming into a LFS that do not have the same standards as tony. its just the sad nature of the business. if only tony could have some kinda of rating system like; this store is Tony Vault Certified to have same standards such as keeping their fish at the proper salinity.... for starters. im not sure this is coming out correctly but i hope u get the point.
William Duong that's exactly what I'm thinking. I see that what if Tony sold to normal people like us, he'd probaly have better sales than being a wholesaler to only lfs. If Tony shipped fish directly to us rather than a lfs, we'd be getting fish straight from him and not some middleman. People like Tony is what makes this hobby a better thing rather than a lfs who only wants to make a quick buck
Tony and his crew at Hydra/Tony's Vault reaaly care about the animals that come in. I have personally seen Tont hand feed a number of fish at their facility including a pair of Naso Tangs they had.

I noticed some of the comments say their LFS stores don't care. Where are you guys? I'm in central Florida and a good amount of stores here compete against one anther for the health of their fish.
The saddest part is that most retailers dont care. They just want cheap fish, if they die in the owners tank in 5 hours they dont care. Instead of buying a legit fish for a few cents more they prefer to let it die. Shame on Retailers!!!!

Fish conditioning is the best I don't think people like shy fish too much
