This must have been amazing to hear live in a moderate sized auditorium with an audience that is silent and absorbed in the music. I envy anyone who had the opportunity to see Pink Floyd during the early 70's before Dark Side of the Moon.
@@Robert63675Yeah, I guess Pink Floyd are so boring that you bother to comment on multiple of their videos... Robert, you better stop feeling ashamed of your tiny weasel, boah...
I enjoy Piper At The Gates Of Dawn through Dark Side when the band were more of a democracy. Richard was the musical rock on these albums. Perhaps I'm alone in this.
No, you are not alone=) It's really interesting, what might happen with e.g. The Wall album, if Rick wrote something for this... It would be so nice, I think))
this is a interview on french tv and they used playback on this short version of saucerfull of secrets. there is a complete version. dave gilmour spoke french and played - or pretended - a gibson guitar.very nice post.this part of sos its celestial.
This music is beyond space and time, a masterpiece. Strange, in some ways I was comparing and thinking about Edward Elgar with this piece (Gerontius). Also a magician
Phew, the french and belgian cameramen never seem to show Gilmour or Wright very often (I've found that they show Mason quite a lot which is very unusual.), however this time Rick seemed to be favored and that was a real treat. Even if he's play acting, his technique is beautiful to see. :3 (and he's adorable. still miffed I missed out on David in his floppy hat though.) Thank you so much for sharing.
SPLENDOUR..........PERFECTION.............It's REALLY a gig in HEAVENS...As if sth BRIGHT or a GLOW coming out of NOTHINGNESS!!!.....Love you Richard Wright(RIP).................................
The young girl that the cameraman was fixated on is now someones grandmother! They probably have no idea how cool or pretty she was in the late 1960 or early 70's
1:25 I feel her smile. I am crushed on her. How was she nowadays. Is she still alive? How wonderful she is ❤. If anyone sees my comment knowing her please respond.
The first time I listened to this on lsd was a truly uplifting and life altering experience.....and everytime i hear it i go back there for 6 or 7 minutes and everytime it's as wonderful as the last....
Shame. Video footage TOTALLY disconnected from the audio. Not just out of synchronisation - totally the wrong vid', with added incidental noise to what is otherwise a magnificent & classic early Floyd number.
It's about a heaven that anyone can have.Just Open Your minds people!Leave the money, technology, mainstream, boobs, butts and cars.Loce only one woman and mediate all days!
The version played in Pompeii is a masterpiece

The song I want played at my funeral. A true masterpiece !!!!!!!
I wonder if they played it at Rick's funeral. RIP RICK AND SYD.
Same here! I've had that same thought
Me too!
A sentiment that’s both dark yet full of beautiful light 🥹 nice!
Same over here!
A amazing chord progression by Rick, we miss you buddy.
You beat me to it!!!
Ride Easy, Rick!
A boring set of chords, you can invent such nonsense endlessly

Piper to the wall really great
I agree I love Richard Wright. Listen to shine on you crazy diamond part ix if you want to hear wright close out the suite
I agree that Richard was the beating heart of Pink Floyd. His music is the burning fireplace.
Totally agree. Rick Wright was the heart of PF. I've been listening to them from about 40 years, and always had this opinion.
Richard Wright the truest cosmic traveler.
👍🏻
I dont know why my comments were deleted, but that was right out of Ummagumma, and beautiful. Thanks man.
They got our love tremendously...love and respect for Pink Floyd

No true, pink floyd never did a playback, check your info
@@sinnozia lol lol lol there's plenty of videos where PF did playback. And Live at Pompei was heavily redone in studio.
@@sinnozia I love Pink Floyd and they are amazing musicians, but this video is clearly a playback. Pretty common in TV shows.

I've always thought that too, shades of Elgar especially in their middle period. A very English band.
This is amazing! High Level!Pink Floyd MAGNITUDE!!
Que de beaux moment a vous écouter merci!!!!xxxxxxxxxxxxx

It is indeed. That part is called Celestial Voices.
It's special, is what it is!!!
IT'S TRUE THIS IS THE FINALLY PART OF A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS!

i love the tune, the video is shot well, nice lighting
Short attention span media users of today I pray we get the freedom of the 70's back and enjoy long jams again 💖

My favorite tune.

No words needed, transcends time, space and religion.

Essa música. Esse olhar. É Esse sorriso .Essa menina.... tudo de bom.divino...
great music and video
How can I explain this powerful music?
Ali Reza Keshavarz - You can't, hence its magic.
You don't explain it, you feel it.
You can't explain music with words any more than you can dance about architecture.

There is a version where Rick is practising it on the organ at the Royal Albert Hall. Beautiful snippets
Imagine without pink Floyd...........
That girl didn’t understand it,she was like what the ....... is this?
That proves that not all of us can perceive GREATNESS .
She's high, you can see it in her eyes

'Live'? My ass - just the record track speeded up a bit with the odd bang added.

I don't think there is a song more representative of the creative soul of PF, at least this 4 of them.
Que viagem!!!
That girl was tripping like crazy in the audience, lucky girl.
Oh boy
In need of some psilocybin mushrooms 🍄🤗😎
Where is the mellotron player.
i remember they used a revox with recorded special effects
I love this song, but this is a studio recording spliced into a live video, so it’s misleading. 😢

He had one around this time...but still had his signature Farfisa & Hammond organs too...
I hope he's playing with Miles Davis right now.
