My first predator boots were the predator absolute. I remember kaka wore them and he was probably my favourite player at the time. I wore predators all the way up til now with the lz2, and I do miss that classic style.

If you ask me,it is the beginning of Nike. Adidas never really kept the same formula. Don't mind the Predator X and Adipower. But it just doesn't had the Preds aesthetics. Now you see Adidas starting everything from scratch. Just hope Adidas will revive the Predator series,definitely a series that needed to be brought back.

YouKraine1 it was Quite suicidal in my opinion. I mean the ace(both laceless and primeknit included) and X aren't bad. But none of them will ever be loved like what the predators ever had. The preds deserves a revival along with the f50. Forget about the less demands for preds,there are plenty of boots enthusiasts that would buy any of the classic predators.
The Adidas Predator Powerswerve are my fav Predator from the Adidas line.Id wish i had a chance to buy one of these cleats but unfortunatly Adidas dosent manufacture them anymore.
I used to have a pair of these way back ago, and I remembered they lasted a long time. They lasted me a little over a year with daily use, then I had the predator x, and those also lasted over a year as well. Then I moved on to the nike maestri series, and they were good, but didn't last as long, then I got f50s adizero, and they lasted me 5 months and done. Companies are putting out crappier quality shoes. Yeah the focus right now is to put out very light weight shoes, but they're sacrificing quality and durabilty. They're ripping people off and making more and more profit by using less and crappier materials.
It's more or less trying to appeal the younger generation of football/soccer players. Which is the reason why Nike,Adidas,Puma and many other brands are making lighter models. Lightweight boots are what many kids prefer. But what you said is actually true.

I think that the newer models look much cleaner and better. the lateral side of the 2009 model is too complicated and there's too much going on around the adidas stripes.

We used to have these in the sport store I work at! couldn't get rid of them until 2013... everyone went nuts and they sold just about all sizes in a few short weeks I think people began to realize it was the last true predator.... we still have a few floating around but the largest size we have is a size 8.5 us.

Still have these and still wear them :) the powerswerve comes in 2nd behind the Mania, for me. The last real predator for sure. The tongue, the bladed studs, the split sole, the bulky heel, the weight and the awesome colourways Adidas released for this boot made it the last great predator :(

It's got to be the Classic 2007 Predators for me. Mind you that's coming from a guy that has 3 pairs of boots- Mundial Team, Copa Mundial and World Cup so you could say I like the classics. ;)
Nice retro unboxing Josh! I love these old Predators, but I think I've started to prefer some newer shoes, mainly because I like my studs a little more rounded. With that being said, I wouldn't mind seeing you do some reviews for some more older shoes! By the way, in your on feet portion, do you think you could talk a little about how the boot you're reviewing fits in the heel? My feet as well as my heels are pretty wide, which means it's occasionally hard for me to find proper fitting boots. For example, the Nitrocharge fits me really well, Tiempos do too, but I had to get rid of my Predator Instincts because they felt like they kept slipping off my heels. Thank you for all your hard work!
Get trusox, my experience is the same with the shoes you mentioned. I have the battle pack w/o the Velcro in the heel and I would slip a lot especially when crossing, got trusox and my preds became one of my go to shoes.
The old preds were the best ones I've ever worn I had them in black and white, I went back to the preds this year thinking they might be as good as the old ones but there not. Also have u experience the new preds splits on the in soul of your foot? It's split on both sides on mine

Try and get your hands on an adipure 1 or an adipure II! They oozed class and quality. Ever since the rebrand of the adipure line I think the quality and the class went down hill.

Nothing at the moment can compare to these boots. Why can't Adidas make high end kangaroe boots like these anymore? production costs too high?
Soccer cleats evolve and change based on trends. Right now, knitted uppers and different cuts are what there's a big demand for. Brands have to make what is going to sell the best, which means making shoes that appeal to the younger generation, which is definitely their biggest group of customers. There are plenty of shoes that every brand has made that were very good and are still very good, but they get replaced for something new. Newer doesn't mean better, but it does help to drive sales and interest in the brand.

They are white and blue and i know they're old like these but I still haven't had any luck finding info on them.
I think what they should do with the next predator is bring back the bladed stud pattern the heel counter and remove the rubber elements made for dribbling just my opinion.

10lavery having had nearly all the preceding predator models and the adipowers since, these just felt weird to me and i didnt like the feel of the powerswerve element and the look of them overall. not saying they were bad but just didnt like them as much as the mania, pulse or adipower. but thats just my opinion
Have to disagree with you, this was my favorite of the lot. Next best was the Absolute, Pulse then Adipower for me. Never was able to try the Mania though, would love to try the new ones, shame the old ones are so hard to come by new now
Hi Josh! I just bought a pair of these on ebay and they are true to size for me (11us). My toes feel really presured and uncomfortable for me to play. Should I go half size up or just give them a go and wait for them to strecht? I need to know that because now they still brand new and I could pick up half size up and resell my actual pair. They'll definitely stretch if it's the leather version. Whether or not they'll stretch enough to wear they don't feel too tight, I couldn't really say.

Omar Reyes It's hard to say. You likely wouldn't have any issues, but I don't know for sure. It generally isn't good if the shoes sit for a long time.
