that one definitely qualifies for this series, but i didn’t add it just because i already covered it in my poorly aged lyrics series and i try not to cover the same things twice
Possible topics for discussion in this series: -any number of lines from Tory Lanez' *Daystar* album -Lil Pump, "Butterfly Doors": "Call me Yao Ming cause my eyes real low" -Lil Uzi Vert had that one song "That's a Rack" where he swore never to hit on girls on social media again because one of the girls he was talking to happened to be transgender -The "photoshop" lines on Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE." -The end of Kendrick Lamar's "The Blacker the Berry," including the final lyrics, "So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street / When gangbangin' made me kill a [neighbor] blacker than me? Honestly, the Uzi lyrics can be easily interpreted as the other way around imo. He says right after "Lucent all my vision, that's the only thing that's trans" right after, which means the person he got catfished by wasn't a trans woman, just a man trying to catfish as a woman. This is coming from someone who's genderfluid and also a huge Uzi fan, so maybe it's just copium, but that's how I always treated it.
totally agree. I don't think that art of any form should be censored. If someone says something stupid, tell them. If you take down that lyric it will just disappear as if it never happened and the artist will pretty much be backlash free
There are some things the streets speak on in music that probably shouldn’t be… Like for instance, explaining how and why to rob Asian households, like YG did once. On one hand, music doesn’t influence people to do things they probably wouldn’t normally do, on the other, you can totally influence/reinforce a behavior/idea within people with music
with the yg lyric it is actually a known thing specifically in LA that a lot of Chinese families keep their money in their house which does actually make them a main target in robberies over there
Hey man, I just subscribed! I'm impressed with your ability to be neutral while you critique music, unlike a lot of music critics! As a hardcore fan of NF, I actually enjoyed your video on why you don't like his music! Looking forward to more videos from you!
For part 2 you should take a look at the controversy behind Drakes ‘Jodeci Freestyle’ featuring J Cole. It was a big controversy at the time because in a lyric from Coles verse he compared stupid people to autistic people
Yeah it's just added details. I mean if you're going to do a crime atleast make sure the shit pays right? He's just detailing how he makes it worth his while
Nice vid once again CDTVproductions I personally would've used Em's "Rap Game" song instead considering half his verse was censored but good pick nonetheless
Yeah, Dipset always had questionalbe 9/11 related takes in their songs, my favorite being "I wasn't mad that the towers fell, I was mad that the coke price went up and my crack won't sell"
Eminem got a lot of that shit - Not only was the version of "My Name Is" on the Slim Shady LP a toned down version of the original, but as he mentions in "Rap God" the following line from "I'm back" was censored to remove "kids" and "columbine" I take seven kids from Columbine, stand 'em all in line Add an AK-47, a revolver, a nine A MAC-11 and it oughta solve the problem of mine And that's a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time Then of course the BET Cypher about Trump
I just realized those Eminem lyrics are a loose interpolation of/homage to one of Rakim's verses on "My Melody": "I take seven emcees put 'em in a line And add seven more brothers who think they can rhyme Well, it'll take seven more before I go for mine Now that's twenty-one emcees ate up at the same time"
I feel like even juelz santana doesn't understand his own bar. I think it is an interesting bar because its saying that he can relate to someone being exceptionally brave to do something that will leave him hated. Hes saying that its all about prospective, because they are both acting for what they believe is necessary. It could be seen as a very introspective bar about coming to grips with his past but I dont think he knows this
coz of the julez santana one im gonna copy this tweet i saw the other day “Bunch of rappers right after 9/11 " 🎶 new york! whoever hit our buildings, we coming for yall Bunch of rappers ~2 years after 9/11 "🎶 I'm bin laden of my block, whole crew Taliban”
I hope this is less of a Joey Show situation, and more of a Batman Beyond situation. It is, great spin-off! I'd also like to bring the people's attention to another set of Eminem lyrics, the entire second verse of "Square Dance" which is a great and very overlooked song of his.
There are a few old school songs that have censored lyrics, like Biggie with a line here and there. Even half of a paragraph worth like with Old Dirty Bastard. I wonder if there will ever be or has been a time where they weren't censored or will the world just never know how offensive those lines were, or non-offensive by nows standards like how Eminem put that Clumbine line in his Kamikaze album from his earlier work, and thats the first I've seen of a reversal
Nice to see "Bush Killa" on here, Paris deserves way more notoriety. His first four albums (haven't really heard his stuff after Unleashed) are awesome and Sleeping With the Enemy probably makes my personal top 25 hip-hop albums. "Bush Killa" is just one of the many great songs on that one.
When it comes to lyrics or speech, I don't think the government should take action unless there is a serious threat of violence. But private companies like RUclips can censor whatever they like on their platforms. We can agree or disagree with their decision but I think TOS is a good thing for websites to have.
First one reminds me of when Frank Iero’s hardcore band Leathermouth dropped a song called “I Am Going To Kill The President Of The United States of America” in the 2000s and he had agents showing up to his house to interrogate him and make sure he wasn’t actually going to do it
As he was wrapping up the intro I was thinking that he could go- "This, is CDTVProductions, and yes, all of these are Eminem." Yes I know other rappers are controversial also but its what slim shday is known and built of
Five more controversial lyrics- BVDLVD- "Slit my wrists just for fun, 'cause it gives me good luck" remains uncensored (I.D.G.A.F) Lil Darkie- "Bitch I'm smoking gas in my chambers like it's the holocaust"- uncensored on the song holocaust, censored on genocide (with a blurb about censorship) City Morgue (Sosmula) "Cooler than the new freezer, got my new heater. Little bitch, I'm the school shooter, you the school teacher" shooter was censored (Sk8 head) City Morgue (SOsmula) "Bendin' the corners, we shoot the block. Fuck it, we gon' shoot at the cops" cops was censored (Shinners13) City Morgue (Zillakami) "Hey kid, hey kid, aim it, bang it. Kill kids, hang kids. City Morgue kill shit" kids was censored (Arson)
Im late but... What about Lil waynes lyric on karate chop where he said "beat that pussy up like Emmett Till" I think he lost his mountain dew sponsorship because of that.
Yo you should make a series called “Ironic Rap Lyrics”. For example Lil Durk saying “Get out the streets, bitch you pushing thirty” line while he’s 29 saying this on “Hellcats & Trackhawks”.

This remark is even worse when you consider dababy has a net worth of $6 million and wouldn't be affected financially over being cut from other live shows or brand deals.
they "censored" a line from I'm Back by Eminem i think in which he says some fucked up shit about columbine but what they did was made the word columbine sound weird even tho you could still make out what he was saying
Can you rate 2pac and Biggie like in worst rappers of the game, but not in that series cause they're good, I wanna know your thoughts on their lyrics, flows etc.
I have two pretty similar ones to include here: Lil Wayne’s line in Karate Chop and Rick Ross’ line about Emmitt Till. For those who don’t know who Emmitt Till was, I’d say look him up and know why these rappers making the lines about him they do isn’t the best move.
“Molly in her champagne she ain’t even know it “ gotta have the most damage Rick Ross lost a deal off that
