Eric, I have to say that your channel is truly wonderful. And the Craftsman's Legacy series absolutely hooked and captivated me. It had also inspired me. I got into wood craft after nearly 20 years in uniform. Before, it was just an escape, but now it's my life. After a traumatic event I put the uniform and that lifestyle in the rear view mirror. As you have said, I'm doing it for my soul. It has been a challenge after giving up the security of a career, but I've never looked back or regretted it. Seeing these craftsmen that you feature, and hearing their stories has really stoked the flame, given me something to relate to and helped to remind my why I'm doing this. This is the best series I've stumbled on to in a long time and I hope to continue to see more from you.
In my opinion, a Craftsman is someone that can build something as close to perfection as possible. An artist dreams of things that don't exist and make them come to life.
What an excellent comment! I am the artist first, the creation comes to me, and then I try my bestest best to make it. I wrestle the mahogany to bring out the beauty. The wood is the star of the show...
I really like how wonderful April is with her staff, she said thank you every time there was assistance. You both are amazing people, I love you show thanks😎
Hey, very nice. Have also worked on motorcycles, entire life, it is a blessing.! This glassblowing episode, is way cool. Good job thank you! The young lady and her associate did a great job as well. Thanks for sharing this have a beautiful day and stay well. Jim
I just love the show. I so appreciate where April is coming from with the inseparability of artist and craftsman(woman). Also, just a great interview and legacy she’s creating. Who does the landscaping first? Turns out a dedicated artist. Every single episode of ACL I watch fills my cup a little. Thanks Eric for your enthusiasm and dedication to sharing the craft of others.
What a beautiful person she is. I am so happy for Her that she is doing what she Loves to do. You are a very lucky man to have shared some time with that wonderful Lady. And I to have shared the same time with Her because of your videos. Think you for that! Best regards from Ohio.
I love your channel man. The fact that you get to try all of these different artistic endeavors and crafts, introduce us to amazing creators, and then keep mementos of all the things you've done with your own hands is just amazing (at least I hope you do). Every one with its own anecdote and story. So happy to have found this channel.
As a glazier by trade and having a friend who owns an art glass studio I never get enough of watching this. I prefer warm glass as a medium, but having tried this I can honestly say this is amazing every time I witness it. Love the channel and I'm so glad you had a day of exposure to this craft Eric!!!
What an interesting episode to watch! The process of blowing glass is so amazing and almost mystical. April is truly a master of her craft. She makes it seem easy, which I'm sure it's not!! The glass cup you created together turned out awesome! You seemed very at ease doing that work!
Oh wow. Accidentally came across these videos and im hooked. I am a artist myself and I craft as well. So I identify with so many of these wonderful people. I would love to make my art my lifestyle and this just cements my ideas. Id love to give glass blowing a go. The arsenic shape and material just calls me.
I'll throw my small contribution into the pot and suggest that you can be a craftsman without being an artist but you can't be an artist without being a craftsman. Just discovered this channel Love it. All the best from the UK.
hello! Congratulations on the channel! I've been following you for a long time! I'm from Brazil and I work with sculptures and dolls. your channel helps me a lot. however the subtitles are in English and there is no option to translate into Portuguese! Please release the subtitles in Portuguese! I don't understand English and I'm curious to know what you are talking about. The videos are great, but I don't understand English, which makes me frustrated because I don't understand what you say.! Even though I'm using the google translator to write, there's no way to translate the videos. thanks
Well its interesting Eric, my opinion is that craftsmen originally made products of a functional nature in wider society and in that respect you could consider even a butcher or a vinegar maker as a craftsman. In the 1800's the term craftsman was generally respectfully applied to time served qualified people. The idea of middle class product culture fuelled craft faddery did not really occur to them. Shows you how much we have changed. But say you are a craftsman and you become so good at mastering what you do that you are considered a ' Golden wizard' of your trade. You then become a master craftsman, finely tuned into what you do. You then can use your craft for the purposes of expression. Then you become an artist or artisan. Its probably no accident that todays successful artisans generally seek to have an educated back ground just like they did years ago. Though I always find it strange that we seem to have dropped the 'apprentice' and artists have to find their own way. Sometimes I think that we loose the generational knowledge that way.
Interesting and delicate subject. Totally agree that she’s pretty - but what made her gorgeous was how in-tune and knowledgeable she was with her art, and and how she seemingly - so effortlessly conveyed that information without the slightest hint of stress, or rushing… now that i found sexy!
Craftsman are the ones who create with passion the very things they use. That’s what makes the artist.

It's like magic! I love watching and trying. The whole gravity thing really comes into play with molten glass!
Another great video. April made it look so easy.
She really does!!
That was beautiful the way all three of you were able to work together and make that cup. That was awesome to see. Thanks for sharing this with us. :)
Beauty and talent in a nice combination! Wonderful!
So true!

As a furniture maker I think we must add a new twist to the craft to call ourselves artists.
I can see that.
As cool as this was, I can't stop thinking about having 1,000 amps of power in my hobby hut.
Haha!

I see what you mean by losing the knowledge. I would totally consider a butcher a craftsman or a vinegar maker! Thanks for the thoughtful comment.
I want to be a glass craftswoman and also silversmithing and goldsmithing :
Go for it!
Weight and weakness, not gravity
It is so hot in there ,why is ally wearing a sweater?
Not sure.
it is not venitian .. it is alexandrian .. egyptian technique
Appreciate the comment. Thanks
Her craft is as hot as she is
I'll make sure to let her know! Thanks
I concur totally... what a beautiful woman... and what a beautiful craft...
So glad others chimed in, but yeah mang, she kinda cute.
Agreed! She is quite beautiful. Plus, I love a woman that knows how to use tools. 👍😎

I wish there was a lot less talking and more of the person showing their skills
