If you don't want the paint to scratch, you have to do 1-2 layers of gloss coat over the paint and let it sit for 2 days before you spray the flat coat. If you only spray a flat coat directly on the paint, it actually makes the paint easier to scratch. Gloss is the most protective coat you can get. That's why resin builders do 3-4 coats of gloss during the paint process. I've been doing this for 3 years now and don't have a single scratch on any of my kits after multiple poses.
That’s awesome. Count yourself lucky. I do gloss after paint then a 2nd gloss after decals then a final matte and it’s pretty durable but if pieces scrape during some tight poses, it’s gonna scratch. Most of the time is scuffs that can be wiped off though
Compared to the old 90's 1/100 of them, the new mg f90 kits are miles above better. Yeah, sucks they're behind pbandai wall but at least they're relatively cheap enough
This kit's expansion packs will make Strike gundam's striker pack look like a chump. Too bad all of them is P-Bandai. But for me, its basic form is already good to look and pose, must got it one day
I wish I could recommend the F90FF manga, but the manga didn’t start getting interesting until a year ago and the art is mid. But man, I would love to get my hands on the Mars Zeon F90 and the F90 N-Type. Both are killer designs.
My biggest issue with the F90 is that it clearly wasn't supposed to be a PBandai kit. Everyone knows the difference between retail and PBandai box packaging is. Retail is full color, custom main image, bar codes, pictures of the gunpla showcasing features or included items, etc. PBandai is the mono-tone color scheme, a picture of the model kit iself, and just the model name on the sides. The F90 very clearly uses a retail box, which means it wasn't supposed to be PBandai but some director at the 11th hour made the call to switch it to PBandai so close to release, they couldn't even change the boxes out. Likely it was already well into production when the change was made. This kind of behavior is why I'm leaning more and more towards MJH, Daban, etc and just getting my kits from other manufacturers. Bandai's been increasingly pushing more and more of their lineup to the FOMO PBandai business model and I'm pretty well and done with buying into it.
Banging paint job. Regarding Premium Bandai, I keep telling people that it used to be "Club G". The kits aren't premium, they're designs that Bandai don't consider to be mass-sellers and have to up the price on because they'll sell relatively few kits. The "luxury" is that you get to have a relatively obscure design or version in model kit form, or as we've seen recently, old designs that newer generations don't care about, like the Rose and Maxter Gundams.
Club G is what they still call it in South Korea FYI. Premium Bandai/Club G used to be only for those obscure variants that Bandai felt wouldn't have mass appeal, but it's more like a means to reuse existing kits, make a few changes and then sell at 100% profit since they're not sold in retail stores.
@@xxnike0629xx Jokes aside, would you consider Gundam Base more of an actual premium line? They seem to always be ‘more’. Some of the plated kits like the silver/gold coating versions or the ‘special coating’ Epyon are pretty flashy.
Crazy that Bandai actually made all the variants; albeit via P-Bandai add on packs, and also an MG F90-2 Gundam F90 Unit 2 and the MG OMS-90R Gundam F90 (Mars Independent Zeon Forces Type) (both P-Bandai). It is odd that parts pop out, but I wonder if this was intentional so you can take off parts easily to convert it into the variants with the add on packs. I wonder if there's any hardcore fan that bought all the add on packs and enough sets of the MG F90 Gundam F90 for all the variants. The fact that Bandai made all of these P-Bandai means they probably made a ton of money. Oh and don't forget that fans probably also bought the MG F91 Gundam F91 [Ver 2.0] ... and the P-Bnadai variants that include... - F91 Gundam F91 Ver.2.0 [Afterimage Image Color] - F91 Gundam F91 Ver.2.0 ORIGINAL PLAN Ver. - F91 Gundam F91 Ver.2.0 (Harrison Madin Custom) ... along with that Bandai LED set for all of these. 🤯
I normally adore your paint jobs, but this one 👎🏻. Just didn't do anything for me. The muted color scheme you chose with shading just takes too much away from the original design with bright primary almost garish colors that looks straight out of the late 80s/ early 90s cartoon. Sorry, bruh this one's a bit of a stinker. Good skills and technique; bad eye for aesthetics.

Facts
That’s good to know, thank you!
great tip thank you!
I do 2 coats of clear and a flat. Between 1 day to weeks between the flat finish depending on when I have free time.

This is a great choice for the last Gundam of the year by Papa Gundam.
Always great to see ItsAGunpla post, amazing build man!
Gosh man, I'm happy you guys are able to make this kind of stuff. I have no patience but seeing you guys making these models is awesome!
I'll be straight with you, neither do I for this level of gunpla building. I do straight out of the box builds mostly because that is relaxing to me.
Compared to the old 90's 1/100 of them, the new mg f90 kits are miles above better. Yeah, sucks they're behind pbandai wall but at least they're relatively cheap enough
Truly peak Gundamness. Keep up the good work
I just built my first paint booth. I’ve always wanted to paint a Gundrum and I think this would be a great start to break in the new booth.
This kit's expansion packs will make Strike gundam's striker pack look like a chump. Too bad all of them is P-Bandai.
But for me, its basic form is already good to look and pose, must got it one day

The Gundam MK:V is also a Pbandai kit that’s very good. Hopefully that translates to a doven wolf or silver bullet.
Thats beautiful! Its simple but everything is there for a reason. 10/10 video!
Gundam, fantastic review honestly. You've got some of the best review work, not to mention your commentary. Keep it up.
Nice job, Gundam.
amazing work as always.
I hope we also get 26 packs for the Narrative Master Grade honestly
I don’t have any p-Bandai kits yet but I wouldn’t be dissatisfied if this was my first
*cries in not having missed a single MG F90 release*
Glad you picked this one up, great build
The detail is amazing
I didn't know but it's understandable. But i didn't know that the paint scratches so easily on these.

same thing that happened to the MkV
Same thing happened with Rose and Maxster Gundam
Wouldn't mind hearing about what colors and painting tips you have there.
Take a shot every time something pops off the Gundam LOL
P-Bandai strikes again.
Always look forward to these vids man, happy New Year Gundam!
Banging paint job.

It Does look Really good.
😄👍
Epic !
THERE'S A GUNDAM DOWN HERE!
the f91/f90 hands are great
EXCEPT for the the fact they don't have any open hand options. Such amazing builds but they just skimped on a few things
Xiltix would say this one matches your height Gundam. 😂
HELLO THERE
I wonder if there's a 144 scale resin on mandarake. Its not a bad looking MS but I wish the shoulders were a bit longer.

@xxnike0629xx if Banrise give such treatment to either 00 or AGE, surely you'll gonna have ...

@xxnike0629xx But it's a sure thing that you'll still both ...
I’ve wanted this one for a long time, but getting pban in my country for anything less than tripple the price is next to impossible
I'm a bit confused about the paint scratching thing; do gunpla painters avoid using something like a top coat or varnish?
He already topcoat it... but still scratch
Still waiting on my Rix-001 Gundam G-First and G-Tank dammit.
The HG of this must be tiiiny
F90 is dlc hell 😂
