There was another thing. The official contender got a "quota" to compete in Vinesh's category (53 kg) when Vinesh was undergoing/recuperating from her knee surgery. At that time, under pressure from the circumstances at that time, there was an ad hoc committee that decided that there will be a fight off between the quota candidate and the winner of a competition to challenge the quota candidate. Antim always was defeated by Vinesh wherever they fought against each other. Under such conditions Vinesh could challenge Antim, and the best could represent India at Paris. But after the revocation of the ban of Indian wrestling federation (P T Usha was used deftly), the old coterie came into power by abolition of the ad hoc committee, and the decision that the quota candidate should face a challenger was withdrawn. To be fair, though other international events had this system, the ad hoc committee introduced this to the Olympics too, for the first time, i think, a sensible decision, overturned by the successor committee ( and you know who they were). So Antim goes to the Olympics unchallenged in the 53 kg category, and Vinesh had to opt for 50 kg being a 57 kg naturally, if she had to participate in the Olympics. I am wondering what happened to the person who would otherwise represent us in the 50 kg category. We all know what happened to Antim
To answer the question (48min) why do ppl pay for you… is because you got voice guys not everyone are upfront with issues and effective though they think exactly what you think. That’s the reason.

It’s the same thing in the U.S.: regular randos defend the rich, and support policies that benefit the rich, because they’re worried about the day they believe they themselves will be wealthy. People know, on some level, what their own class interests are, but they don’t believe they’ll remain in that class. (There’s also a racial component to it here, which makes me suspect that there’s a caste component to it in India. But what do I know?)
