I grew up playing this along with the first game, these games will always have a special place in my heart. This video was straight up hilarious and really insightful. Thanks for making such a great video. (I even thought the voice acting was horrendous as a 10 year old)
When i was a child me and my mom played this arcase at the mall and she will get me a chair cause i cant see the screen and when i played the game i was horrified then i said to my mom "i dont want chairs anymore"😂 then i was shooting without looking at the screen then im always hearing reload😂😂
5:30 my friend and I couldn't stop laughing at the voice acting when that you fail the shoot the zombies coming towards that guy. The zombie ends up kicking the guy and he gives out this pathetic groan. This voice acting, on top of the Chinese guys in the very first Hitman (from like 2000) were the funniest.
This has also a Resident Evil feel mixed with some elements from Tomb Raider, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Night of the Living Dead , Cyborg/Terminator , and so on . Great game franchise . I miss those times where you could go to a pub or wherever they had Arcade machines spending several times there having fun with friends . Today we have our smartphones or tablets to play silly games and a few looks like they're Arcade-ish but it isn't the same feeling at all . I would so love the come back to Arcade machines and other fun stuff from the 80's and 90's all is so boring today and deja vu a thousand times for me , also i'm hating the anti-socializing from our modern era we're living in .
I feel that criticizing the Dreamcast version for using the control pad is a bit unfair; have you tried using a light gun controller? It's the way that the game is meant to be played, far easier to set up on DC than PC, and the Dreamcast port has significantly fewer rendering flaws than the PC port.
I've probably thought way too much about this series of games but I had another late-night thought. If Goldman and his people could create something like Judgment, that has 2 bodies and presumably 1 brain, why didn't they figure out between Chariot and Hierophant that a giant gaping hole in the chest directly in front of the heart is a weakness worth trying to eliminate? I get Hierophant is aquatic and maybe had to be designed differently but Chariot in the first game had the EXACT same weakness and it was fully clothed! Even the Emperor, maybe they shouldn't have given him a clear body and a bright red heart that turns out to be his only weakness.
i think what made this slightly scarier for me is the FOV the zombies and projectiles are literally just in your face everytime which really enhanced the feeling that i was being attacked
I thought the best ending was when all the civilians you saved stand outside waving at you and telling you "thank you" but i guess that implies that G dies? Since you don't learn that he survived from his wounds
Though your character opens up the door, and sees goldman as a zombie and says "No" and doesn't bother to shoot him, then it says ending. WHAT IN THE F***
This game became one of the best parts of my childhood. My dad introduced HOTD to me and my brothers and we would always marvel at how our dad can always complete all the boss levels up to the final blue ghost like thing (forgot the name) and defeated Goldman many times.
The AI in this game is terrifying. Particularly when the chainsaw boss runs through a stone wall or jumps from above to ambush you. Even the smaller monsters that bust the door open and run toward you make you poo your pants the 1st time
"The maximum number of bonus you can get in each stage is 1" 16:22. That's incorrect. In stage 2, if you don't save the very first civilian, and go a particular path, you can save up to 7 people, and that will give you 2 bonus life at the end. That's the only possibility to get 2
Yeah but what sucks is that if you chose that path and Rescue them all, you can’t get the secret room because of the guy in the car. That’s why the second stage is so flawed in my opinion
One thing missing in this game from House of the Dead 1 that added to its replay value is the secret paths. You could take secret paths even without shooting the civilians by accident. But I love getting the ending with Rogan in this game.
Slight mistake with the bonus life at the end of the level. You have to save the following number to get a 1up. Stage 1 = 5/5 civilians Stage 2 = 5/6 (7 for 2 lives) Stage 3 = 3/4 Stage 4 = 3/3

This boss reminds me of the final boss of devil may cry 1 and dmc2, they all look like as if the had the perfect pure appearance, in comparison with the less-rank weaker enemies.

The House of the Dead 1&2 are probably the best example of a game that is equal parts cheese-fest and equal parts legitimately badass.

I tried multiple times, on that route you can only save 6 either way, therefore debunking this myth.
