  • After missing 2 years because of covid, the Lincolnshire Show was on June 22nd and 23rd 2022. It has managed to maintain its agricultural roots despite many other County shows having to include lots of non agricultural exhibitors and events just to survive.
I’m part of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society Board which oversee the running of the Showground and it’s events. I’m also Lincolnshire’s representative on the national NFU Council and the NFU have a big presence at the show. Hence I always go to both days of the show. I’m also a life member of the Lincs Ag Society thanks to a 21st birthday present from my parents, both now no longer with us.
There’s a huge amount going on so I tried to capture the atmosphere and various companies exhibiting with interviews and my commentary around the show. It’s 44 mins long so if something isn’t interesting you, don’t skip too far as the next clip will.
Vintage tractors feature heavily as does one of the first commercial tractors, designed by my great great uncle in the early 1900’s.
    Hope you enjoy it.
Next week my update will feature part 1 of 3 of a tour around the farm.

    Good evening Andrew
I would like to say that I think your content on RUclips is fantastic,It’s exactly the picture British farming needs painting. Some hard times are ahead for farming in the current world climate and the more people that understand what’s happening the better. 👍

Another great video Andrew, the county shows are a fantastic way of showing what you farmers do and it’s good to see them so well supported. You farmers need all the help you can get, especially when you see all the negative stuff from the muppets on twitter and social media.

Thank you. “Muppets”!! I was on bbc main news last night at 6 and 10 and some of the abuse I’ve had today on twitter is unreal. One even criticised me for the shirt I was wearing saying I shouldn’t be saying how tough it is wearing a £70 Boss polo shirt! Rhonda pointed out it was a fake from Crete she bought in 2019 for €20! So funny!! 🤣🤣

Great video, one of your best! Looks like you had a few sherb’s 😂😂but you deserve it. I knew of you in different publications but never realised how much you do for farming and the local community. Won’t belong before your a sir.
Keep up the videos, they really are the best ones on you tube.

You have a fantastic show there Andrew.
Fast to see it well attended by the Agg dealers.
What's so sad is the fact that so many people rely on food banks and the number is increasing! Thought we were supposed to be a first world country!
Fantastic the work you and Rhonda do for charities.
Hopefully the government will pull there finger out regards food security etc, I know I've said it before and also with the labour problems.

Thanks for the update Andrew. The Lincolnshire show is a great county show which is still about agricultural equipment and livestock and the Lincolnshire way of life and after the set backs of recent years seems to have come back even stronger and with great weather and record attendences. I wasn't able to get to the show but watching your video was the next best thing thanks again.

Lot of complainers on the Lincolnite saying it should be at the weekend or later so that it’s over the school holidays but they all seem to forget it’s an agricultural show

    • @WardysWaffleAndrewWard
      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  2 года назад +1

They do forget that. Newark, P’boro shows had to switch to weekends to get attendance figures up but with Lincs Show getting a record 55k through the door, I don’t think there’s a need yet and it would change the atmosphere.

Really good video showing everyone what goes on at the show.
The potato riddle brought back memories. The farm I worked on in the 70s and 80s had an electric one like that.
The videos always very interesting and informative.

Thank you for showing us around one of the country 's best county showx. It was a great report. Well done to Birchwood school.Seeing that riddle took me back to hundreds of hours spent fiddling spuds, not much fun but we had good quality ware spuds at the end of the day. I'll take the 135 rather than the 1200. I agree with you about the 7810

Excellent video Andrew. Great to see the Lincolnshire show still retaining its links to agriculture, where other shows seem to think farming is secondary to car sales, hot tubs, food stalls etc. Fantastic to see the schools getting involved. The vintage and classic tractors (my particular interest) were excellent. The paint finish on the Massey 1200 is outstanding, when they were new, as long as they were red it was good enough. Haven't seen the Ivel tractor since it was sold at Cheffins, knew it had stayed in the UK, but didnt realise it was owned by a relative of yours and that you were distantly related to Daniel Albone.

Thanks Mr Ward great video I feel like I have been to the show myself. Im not far from the Royal Bath and West show, it used to a great show but sadley has lost its roots as an agricultural show and become a huge fiour day Sunday market/fair.
PS just seen you on the TV on BBC news.

BBC recorded that bit for the news about 2 weeks ago. The bit on the TV and the on line article I thought put the situation across well. Trouble with TV which isn’t live, you never know what they are going to cut!

@@WardysWaffleAndrewWard you could get pictures of makes and models of the internet, you may have some old invoices etc, would be interesting to see how the farm and tractor combine sizes have changed along with acres and number of staff, seems your father was a great supporter of local manufacturer's 👍
