Soweto is not a ghetto and as someone who grew up there I feel very strong abiut that label. It wasn't by choice that we found ourselves living in Soweto but we have made the best of it and we are very proud. Compare Sunnyside and Hillbrow with Mamelodi and Soweto, I'd rather be in those latter two

I as an African can’t move to China and suddenly become Chinese or move to India and become Indian. But you ppl can come here under extremely violent situation and magically become African. What does your dna result say? Can it tell us where in Africa you originated or will it tell us about your European ancestry? Did you assimilate to the culture or made up your own language (Afrikaans) kept your religion and your European surnames. We're only xenophobic against people who come into the country illegally, sell drugs to our youth, and increase the crime rate, then those ones we really are xenophobic against those ones, the type that calls citizens of a host country "lazy" when they failed to fix their own countries where they came from in the first place...
💙 But if you want us to love you the way we Love our American friends, come into the country legally, and while here avoid illegal activities, & then we all good 👍
Enjoy ur stay my American bros 🇺🇸 ❤ 🇿🇦
