    Greeting in South African languages is an acknowledgement of your existence as a living being. Dumela (Setswana greeting) means Acknowledge that you exist, and your response by also asking the same. The Zulu also would greet you by saying Sawubona which means We see you (that you exist).

    Those places that you named are called Townships, not Ghettos...Nothing Ghetto about Sowteo. Im sure you have to watch your back like any place else. I believe that the word, "Ghetto" was used to describe the living conditions that the Nazi's put the Jewish people under, just like the US government put blacks into projects. If you had the means to buy a house or afford to rent elsewhere, you would get denied by banks, real estate agents or landlords, so some had no choice but to live in the projects. I love Soweto, I cant wait to return, Ill be hanging out in Soweto. ONE of my spots is Onions and All!

    Now why would a Zimbo talk about South Africa ?He knows jack about SA And its cultures .Next time bring a South African in these spaces because he is looking through this with the lens of a foreigner .We dont even speak with the same accents .This was so cringe.

  • @MzansiOz
    @MzansiOz 10 дней назад

    Mamelodi and Soweto are not Ghetto OT the hood. They used to be low income neighbourhoods during Apartheid era. These area are more like suburban now. This is the reason why there is negative sentiment towards foreigners in RSA. Let South Africans tell their stories and their culture. It would be good if this Zimbabwean can tell AA about his culture and his people. There is no such thing as African culture. Each country has its own distinct culture and languages. Ubuntu is not humility. Ubuntu is I am because you are and this meaning is far deeper than the literal definition.

    Its the way you greet. If you're American & you greet in English ,it doesn't sound well to a person eloxion. If you don't greet the cashier it's rude, you wont be served kahle. It's a sign of respect. So now i get pissed off now that I'm in the UK for a short while ,the people here act like we slept in the same bed. They just talk to you anyhow. Well, before i answer their questions i force a greeting from them by initiating a greeting. Ubuntu

    I bought a home in a new community in the good ol USA... Where my white neighbors bought 2 or 3 homes and my black folks bought just one. Why do you think? Because the white people helped each other out.. Try to keep them on top, above the rest so they told them the deals and prices. Black people tend to be scared that it's not enough or that it will be taken from them. You not telling the price is just continuing with the teachings Willie Lynch. Share the knowledge share the wealth.. it's enough to go around. Congratulations on your new home. 🎉🎉😊

Do what I did. Get off your ass Google and get the job done be self reliant. In the comment directly under yours, someone asked for the realtors name and number, and it was given to them. That Zimbo deliberately did not mention that his fellow countrymen are mostly in SA illegally committing crimes they wouldn't dare attempt in their home country yet he has the audacity to speak ill of South African townships. To understand the make up of SA township you have to understand our history and also the socio-economic challenges that contribute to some of the challenges we have in the townships.

    White South Africans have been in South Africa for multiple generations many going back 3-400 years. We do not consider ourselves Europeans. We may have some cultural ties but we are die hard Africans who love our country. If you look at the development of Africa, South Africa is by far the most advanced and white South Africans have contributed greatly. In my view South Africa is way less racist than in America

    • @hairepy
      @hairepy 15 дней назад

      No one outside our South Africa see you as African. Yes you are South African but you are not African you are European. Not to long ago your apartheid sign even classified you as European. I as an African can’t move to China and suddenly become Chinese or move to India and become Indian. But you ppl can come here under extremely violent situation and magically become African. What does your dna result say? Can it tell us where in Africa you originated or will it tell us about your European ancestry? Did you assimilate to the culture or made up your own language (Afrikaans) kept your religion and your European surnames. When we Africans outside of South Africa look at you we don’t see you as African , we know how you got here and see you as children of the colonizer, Omanzungu or ebroni.

    How are the divorce laws in South Africa? Do men keep what they own?

    • @lifestylepretoria9181
      @lifestylepretoria9181 14 дней назад

      By default, people get married in community of property meaning half, half when you divorce without a contract in place. There are other options available like the opposite of the default, with accrual, without accrual etc. Basically the couple decides and put it on contract. Most don’t do contracts and end up splitting assets half-half.
