  • Hobart was pretty cool. Well, aspects of Hobart were cool. But in essence, it's really just a city. I don't really rate cities - certainly, we didn't commence a lap to see every city in Australia. More to experience the stunning natural surroundings we have on offer.
But our Hobart experience was decent. We didn't shoot a lot, but we did shoot a few things extensively and that's what you'll see here.
MONA was amazing - I literally couldn't put the camera down. It was just mind-blowing to me and such a tactile, sensory experience. There's so much more than what I captured and it's totally worth a visit.
The Street Eats @ Franko were really cool. Great vibe and lots of fun for all. Kids had a ball!
And Port Arthur - I wasn't sure what to expect but came away really impressed. It was beautiful landscape and some brutal history on offer there wrapped up in an amazing architectural display.
Now this video is finished, I actually don't mind watching it. It's sedate and it won't be the most popular, but it feels alright. It's mellow and calm. I'll be honest, I didn't really like editing this video. AT ALL! In fact, I hated on it the whole way through. Mostly because there just wasn't any big shots in it. None of the cinematography that I enjoy shooting and like putting together even more - from that perspective, it's just basic.
Why? Well, if I'm not inspired, then I don't pick up the camera. I don't go out of my way to shoot gravel RV stopovers like the one we were at in Sorrel. Not because I'm washing the footage and trying to make youtube-worthy stuff, but as a creative, that kind of footage is not overly interesting or fulfilling. I'm documenting this for our family and unless it's enjoyable and a part of the experience we really want to document, it usually doesn't get captured.
So this won't be the most popular video - and that's ok. . .if you like it, awesome. If not, that's ok too. . .
    Thanks for watching regardless! 🙏

Beautiful footage of Port Arthur. Agree, we loved Launceston more. Our favourite parts of Hobart were the day trips nearby: Tasman Peninsular, Port Arthur. Or walking Salamanca/Battery Point not on market day, when you can explore the specialty shops (omg the cheese) and cafes and get lost in the alleyways and arcades without the crowds. Look forward to your next video!

Thanks Rebecca. Yeah, it was lovely - but I think Launy just made us feel so at home for some reason. Not sure why, but we did love it there a lot. I think I'd probably do more day trips next time we're in Hobart. And definitely get up to Mt. Wellington - spewing we missed that.

Hey guys. Just noticed your sirocco fans are on your bed head. How do you find that? We are working out if we want them and if we do where to put them. Cheers.
Ok just finished the vid. Amazing mate. This makes me want to get better at editing and recording.

We had to have individual fans. I'm always hot, Katie's always cold. Also love just pointing them at the roof so you get a more indirect breeze around the whole area when it's not so hot. Pretty happy with placement to be honest. :) Glad you enjoyed! 👍🙏 Thanks for watching.
