Salt, Earth and Sun Ford Ranger Off-Road Build - A Teaser
Great high quality production. When we were all a bit younger, one could drive or walk down to the lagoon mouth, paddle across the entrance, and catch some of the longest right handlers in Tasmania. Now, someone owns the land, and it’s $65 per night to camp there. Cloudy Bay has become a Big Yellow Taxi 🚖 place now.
Thanks Pete! It's such an amazing spot! 👍Yeah, I think you're talking about Phil's camping spot where we stayed, I was a bit gunshy on the cost too, but it was more than worth it. 👍 I watch this now and just miss it so much. ❤

Cheers brother! Been A while, but work has been kicking my ass. 😂
Wow, wow, wow I see an absolute mountain of very hard work! Every shot is beautiful, colour graded, well planned, loads of B roll, time laps, great music selection, audio mixed perfectly, clear dialogue, great / well planned drone shots and I even noticed some audio transitions. The attention to detail is amazing and there is an emotional connection with your audience which is very rare in caravanning videos. I can't for the life of me work out why the RUclips algorithm has kept this down the list - I accidentally stumbled across this when watching a searched video. This is now my favorite caravaning RUclips channel. Keep up the beautiful and hard work .
@@Steven77K Hahah wow. Thanks Steven. That honestly is really kind and deeply appreciated sentiment. You have just made our day. We love making pieces like this for ourselves, but when they resonate with somebody like this, we get a massive kick out of it. 🙏 I don’t think these do as well in the algorithm, because we don’t try and attention hack in these clips, we don’t follow trends, we don’t do any of the things that you are supposed to do to be successful, also we don’t offer many tips or cross-promote etc. all those things drive viewership and subscription. . .but honestly, I just like to make videos like this. If they don’t move me, I’m not interested. . .so that’s what I try and make. Thanks for chiming in and coming along for the ride. ☺️ It means a lot. ✌️
Gibb river road is nothing hard go in the dry and follow the grader
So weird to think Daly Waters was just a week or so after this. It feels so long ago! 🍻🍻🍻
Well, it doesn't feel that long ago to me. . .but my life is relatively unchanged. Kids only look a tiny bit different. . .you grew a whole new one in that time. 😂
@@SaltEarthandSun lol - To be fair Tania did most of the work on that front.
Thank you for sharing the Gibb completely different to everybody else. That was amazing 😊
Well thanks for watching! 🙏👍 Was a bit of fun! Can't wait to get back up there to be honest! 😜
So good to see u guys back!!!! Even had a lil teary when dale said the helicopter was her favourite experience! 😢❤😊
Awww shucks! Stop it! That's beautiful! That was a super special experience and we're so glad we were able to do it for the kids. . .they will never forget it I don't think. It was stunning. Would definitely recommend!
Thanks so much for sharing your adventures. I really enjoyed it
Thanks David. 🙏 So glad to have been able to share a bit of it and stoked that you enjoyed it. This was seriously just the best fun! 👍
Guys I’ve watched 100,s of videos on RUclips with people going around Australia in there campers…..I follow almost everyone and I must say this…….the video you guys did was the best I’ve ever seen! I mean the editing the shots your attention to detail the slow Motion clips……Im overwhelmed with how good your video was….AMAZING is an understatement!!!! What a beautiful place el questro is you’ve really showcased how beautiful it is…drone shots were EPIC! I’d say 400 videos I’ve watched even the big RUclipsrs going around on there trips but this video is by far the best put together it’s a master class.we can’t wait to go to el questro on our trip in July 2025 so a massive thank you for this. The helicopter trip looked awesome to do Miri Miri falls to yourself’s was an awesome moment! We’re going to watch it again tonight on the big tv 👍🏻 safe travels guys 🙌🏻 Ps I completely loved this video WOW WOW WOW! 🧡 Im truly blown away!
100% Agree. Previously seen by fellow travellers, some amazing drone footage. However, the quality in this Gibb series is far beyond. Showcased beautifully.
Check out all their other vids! Amazing! Especially the tassie series 👏🏼🙌🏼
Hey Neil, the level of excitement you have for what we do with these videos is actually very humbling mate. Thank you so much for sharing that with us. It's lovely to hear this sort of stuff, because to be honest, I am so close to it, after shooting and editing it, I forget to see the big picture and tend to focus on the things that are wrong with it, rather than just enjoy what's right. But no doubt I will love to look back on this as we all get older and the kids grow and leave the nest. It really has been the best time of our lives and we're just so bloody grateful for it all. We couldn't have done this trip without the support of the guys @ VisionRV and our other clients over in Broome from the year before (Which you haven't seen yet. 😜) - so it was just cool that it all worked out for us and aligned the way it did. 👍 I hope you enjoy El Questro as much as we did when you get there! Make sure to save a few extra pennies for the heli trip - and if you hit it a bit earlier in the season, I reckon it will be flowing a lot more, it was very dry when we went. Thank you again. 🙏
@@Denis-zb5pf Thanks so much Denis. Kind words, much appreciated. 🙏 It's not hard up there though, you point the camera, and magic happens. 😜
@@jennawhite8626 Ahhh Tassie! ❤

Thanks Noel! :) Much appreciated!
I’ve never been more bored in my life. Of course seeing the local deros in the park was a highlight but I’d give it a miss.
Hahahah Bummer. . .We really enjoyed it there. I guess it depends what you're into eh. . .
Your photography and editing is just the best on RUclips, love your work. Dont stop
Hey Darren, thanks so much mate. 🙏 Much appreciated. We fit it in where we can, but it's hard to balance it and do our production company work as well. 😂
Have watched all your videos guys from the Tassie series before we went on the road to now nearly being on the road 2 years and watching this stuff. The best quality travel vids I’ve seen, love your content!
That's bloody awesome David! 🙌 How cool!? That stokes me out! I loved our time in Tassie such an epic place. :)
First time viewer, subscribed. Thank You, for sharing high clarity drone photography, capturing outstanding amazingly beautifull scenery you're travelling through. It's great seeing you're not low-level flying.
Thanks Denis! 👍 Much appreciated. 🙏 Yeah, I fly as high as I'm allowed, but not allowed over 120m. Would be cooler if we could go a bit higher, but such us life without a REOC. The scenery is stunning up there . . .wait until you see the next episode. . .it's my favourite! :)
Those scones were so amazing and camping on the Pentecost River was also a highlight for us! LOVE IT!🙌🏽
Hahaha mate, anything out there that isn't dust and from your own fridge is pretty amazing after a while hey! 😂 But they were awesome! Just nice to have that little bit of escape from heat too, nice shade, cool breeze, greenery and grass. 🙌
Coffee machine i would throw in the first bin to save power 🤔
Hahah Brother, I'd rather take my chances with running the batteries flat and swimming with actual crocs than dealing with Katie if I threw her coffee machine out. 😂A man must know the real dangers in the wild. 😜
Good to see you back on RUclips again it’s been a while ? Still using the R5
Thankyou! Yeah brother, used the R5 on this but have since upgraded the RED to the new V-Raptor XL which is a vista vision sensor. Pretty in love with that TBH. 😜
Not sure about crocs, but did you notice at 7.10 near the big rock in the water there looked to be a big tail waving around to me.
Oh god, don't say that! 😂 I had a look but I can't see a croc! Tell ya what I would have felt kind of totally irresponsible if there was one there. At least we all lived to tell the tale! 👍
Got tassie booked for December, good time to travel there apparently... just sayn... 😉😉🍻🍻
Oh brother, that sounds like so much potential for awesome. 🤩 Now how can I make that happen!?
Maaaate…. That was epic! 🙌🏾 Bugger about not going to Mitchell Falls but to be honest, that road was rough as guts! We didn’t take the van in, just drove in for the day!🤙🏽
Cheers brother. 🙏 Yeah, and if we went up there and it was dribbling across, we would have been shattered. Have seen a few crew drag vans up there, but just couldn't justify it. The consolation prize was pretty flippin' good Though!
@@SaltEarthandSun 💯
Mate, we did 9 weeks up that way a couple of years ago and the ONLY place I used 4wd LOW was the crossing at Mount Barnett - take your wins 😀
That would have been awesome! 9 weeks. 🙌 Yeah, I hear ya though. You want a bit of adventure. . .but not a car floating down the river, or being hopelessly bogged with the van in red mud. No bueno. 😂
Great episode guys. That storm brewing in the sky looked amazing. Oh, by the way, I think you made the right decision.
Thanks heaps Jase. Yeah, it was a pearler that storm. Lucky it skirted us, hearing how bad the one at Mt. Barnett Station was enough for me. 😂 Yeah, I appreciate that - you always get struck by FOMO when it comes to these sorts of things, but at the end of the day, we did what felt right, even though it hurt.
So good mate, I did this last year and the Barnett was up and flowing, just beautiful
Oh man, I would love to see the Gibb just after the wet, but everytime we've been we've run late in the dry season and missed all the big water. Spewing as it's absolutely stunning when all the gorges are full and waterfalls are pumping! Still loved it when we've been and definitely keen for a trip back!
So glad to be watching you guys again! We've missed ur videos!
Heyyy thanks heaps guys! Glad to be posting again. Just had trouble getting editing done! Life has a habit of getting in the way! 😂 Many more to come. It all starts ramping up now to a fairly epic final episode. 👍
@@SaltEarthandSun editing is the worst! But sometimes I love rrwatching certain videos I had forgotten about! Can't wait to watch it!
Well done it’s a great journey on the gibb we’ve done it both ways 30yrs ago with our kids ,the air pressure ad was very cute happy trails😎
Hahaha cheers Richard! Thanks so much! It was a super fun trip, strangely quiet as it was late in the season, but still had to watch the pressures. 😜
Reiterating others comments, you guys are great. You footage is beautiful and I love your girls input and smiles. It is very emotional to have this opportunity for you all. Thanks for sharing
@@davidbulbert7765 thanks heaps David. 🙏 I film these for us mostly, but present them so they work on RUclips too. If I liked it or found it interesting or if it was special to us as a family, it usually makes it in…. It’s trying to find the right mix of having a camera in the hand and experiencing the moment on a personal level. But I will say, as memory fades I very rarely regret being on the camera. Those moments captured this way are like a crystal clear recollection. Almost like by not having the burden of remembering every detail, that smaller details, like smell, taste, feel, are preserved and the visuals do the heavy lifting of the memory itself. Weird…. But it’s nice. Thankyou again for tuning in and sharing your feelings. The girls will be stoked! They always get a kick out of people commenting on their exploits. 😂🙏🙌
@SaltEarthandSun great reply. You've described delayed emotional intelligence as a future experience. I'm going to use it as my wife dislikes me having a camera in my hand ( im a bird nerd) when she is with me, as she feels I'm to distracted, but I think you've given me a loop hole.
That was EPIC! 🙌🏾 Love how you capture it all! 🤙🏽 We just finished 3 weeks on the Gibb and what a ride it was, so amazing! Having a compost toilet is a game changer! 😂
Cheers my man! :) It's definitely something we enjoy doing. It's just a matter of balancing the camera time with lived experience time. Dead right about the dunny. Looking for dump points out there is fairly fruitless.
You get 2 thumbs up for the Forest Gump reference. 🍻
Hahaha how good?!? 😜

What a ripper of an episode Christian! We just finished 3 weeks on the Gibb! Those corrugations were next level!🙌🏽
Thanks heaps man! Was a good time. :) More than a little bit jealous that you have just done it again, perfect time of year for it! 🙌 Did you like it?
@@SaltEarthandSun we absolutely loved it! 3 weeks offgrid was so good and camping on the Pentecost river was so good unlike the corrugations 😬😂

Thank heaps Tom. Very kind of you to say mate! It's a beautiful part of the country you have down there! We were lucky and grateful to experience it!
Bro would have a 5 min vlog if you took out the copious amounts of unnecessary B-roll.
True, but then I’d have something that I wasn’t happy with… and unlike the majority of channels, I actually make these for me and my family. What may seem unnecessary for you actually triggers an extremely strong sense memory for me and whoever else experienced that same moment….. so there’s a method to the madness. 🤷♂️
As there has been some really horrible people at our Pioneer Lake it looks as if only day visits may be allowed here.
That's sad - but also becoming increasingly common. People don't have a great deal of respect for their surroundings these days and it just sucks. There are 3 times as many people on the road travelling now than there were when we went. It's harder to find spots and that also means 3 x as many drongos. 🤦♂️
Your so talented, thanks for videos
Thanks heaps Dave. So glad you enjoy sharing in what we get up to. 🙏 And super grateful that you let us know. 👍 Hopefully have more soon.
Welcome back, i missed you guys
Thanks heaps Darren. 🙏 It's nice to be back with more of our trip. Editing it now is certainly different, the kids are so much younger. Ada used to get quite self-conscious watching herself on camera, as it didn't fit with her self image, but now she loves to see what she was like when she was 'little' (all 3 years ago!). 😂 So, yeah, it's great to look back on already.
So glad you are putting up this footage. We saw your car on one of the lookouts when we were in this area in April 2021 and were so disappointed when you stopped posting. I am glad you are now in a space where you are able to post this footage. Love your early stuff. Keep on posting.
Alan, thanks so much for taking the time to write. 🙏 It's so nice to hear stuff like this, actually nearly brought a tear to my eye and I shared it with the family and they were likewise moved. It was a hard thing to overcome, but yes, the feedback is so lovely to get and definitely inpires me to get back to editing more. 🙌 We appreciate you. 🙏
Great to have videos back from you guys.
Thanks so much Peter. 🙏 Very kind of you to say and it’s nice to be back at it. 🙌
The Video quality was not good. Otherwise excited to see your adventures again. Thanks
Hey Gary, sorry about that? What about the video looked low quality exactly? Didn’t really film too differently to normal - and it was uploaded in 4K?
Watched again and everything is video quality is good. Regards Gary@@SaltEarthandSun
@@garyjohns8299 ahhh that can sometimes be caused by RUclips testing your connection and finding that you don’t have enough bandwidth to stream the high res versions without it constantly stopping and buffering. So it drops the quality to whichever lower quality level will sustain smooth, stutter-free playback. It sometimes gets confused though, so you can force it to the quality you want by clicking on the little ⚙️ icon and choosing “quality” then selecting a higher quality level. 4K is the highest. 👍
