  • These are my personal views on the what some folks say is the best controller on the market. This is a an ok controller . Your cheapest option if you want moving platters but not the best option at $800 if moving platters is not a must have feature.

    After a couple of months traveling the East Coast with the T7 I can honestly say that this is review has not aged well. I have not experienced any of the "issues" that you named with the "PREMIUM EDITION" other than the cost, and I've made back the money paid multiple times over already. The Rane One & Rev 7 are much better units. True, but thats the point of the cost, just as the T7 is much better than other controllers (hence the cost). Saying that it isn't worth the money because of the cost of the parts, is like a client saying "all you did was just push play, you should only charge me $300" Thats a bit wild take Bro.

      Noted but I stand behind my video. I still think it's cheap and I did not have fun playing on it whatsoever. The type of events that I do I would not bring this unit out.
      Again every piece of kit is subjective for the type of events that you do and this would not be a good luck for the type of events that I do .

    I was on the fence about this one. Other reviewers like the ones you mention praise this thing. If your reviews are this honest I will subscribe and hope you have reviews on the Rane Four, Rev 5, and Pioneer DDJ FLX10. Trying to determine which of the three is the best deal and that will not require me to upgrade for the next 2 or 3 years.

    Virtual DJ has all the fixes i don’t care for Serato anyway cue start fix is adjustable not even a issue on default,Headphones volume in preferences you can have it loud as you like go Virtual DJ even on my 1000 so much more fine tuning especially for a entry level unit like this the preference in VDJ make it shine way more than Serato.

    Interesting review, no it's not a professional unit and neither is it promoted I that way. I take all your negatives onboard - my headphone volume is fine. I may be wrong but the Hercules is aimed at beginner/intermediate DJs especially those who want to get that 'vinyl' feel but can't afford a turntable setup. I've had turntables in the past and have two controllers. I love the T7 cos it does what I need it to and it is fun. Keep on reviewing, I like your style.👍🏿

    Thanks for the review! I've had my T7 for about 6 months and it has seen about 15 events. I've been real happy with it. Is it a premium controller? Not quite, but for the money you can't beat its features. Quality/build-wise, it's no worse than my FLX10, which is to say perfectly good. Not a Rane One or Rev-7 by any stretch, but you get what you pay for.
    A few points I disagree with:
    1) Recommending the FLX4 over the T7. The T7 has so many features the FLX4 doesn't, vocal and instrumental stem controls, and balanced XLR outputs to name a few.
    2) Mic inputs. All mic inputs on DJ controllers are poor quality (the highest quality inputs on the market for a DJ controller are 64 bit, and 92 is standard for any mixer...there's no comparison). If you want high quality sound for a vocal mic, all DJ's need to be using an external mixer.
    Thanks again, peace brother

    It's not supposed to be a professional controller, that's why it's cheap, it's a mid range controller, all other reviewers have stated that, it's a budget controller for people who want motorized platters. I have one & I love it, when I get more experience, I'll pay for the rev 7 or rane performer

    Exactly spinning platters, omg 😂 My first decks we're belt drive 12" at £200 with a scratch mixer, so I feel that $699 is way over priced.

      I can only be honest.. no big fancy production just honesty. It’s an OK controller and if you want motorized platters this is pretty much the cheapest bet but if that’s not important to you there’s many other better options.

      @@DJDUMusic with only a one time purchase for the long haul............which would be best for gigs ? I come from turntables so I understand moving platters and the art of scratching and at my age of 52 I learned that a nice clean mix can sound and be better than just scratching 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽and my story behind that is from me djing at a club and me being so focused on scratching that the owner of the club came up to the booth and told me not so much scratching and to focus on my music selections and mixing them to keep the crowd in sync, and that made so much sense to me at the time, so what would you choose.........the poineer rev 5 or Hercules T7? Im also keeping in mind to which unit that will provide overall support and capabilities as far as connectivity with club style speakers and mixers if need be, that auto bpm transition mode on the rev5 is a huge advantage while djing.

    Great review and an entertaining one at that. Just to update the video the T7 now work with Algoriddim DJay & VDJ along with Serato. The only platrom missing is Rekordbox.
    As for knocking it for being plastic, what is $1,100 Pioneer Rev 5 made out of? or their $3,000 CDJ 3000? Maybe the T7 feels even cheaper.
    This is clearly a bedroom unit or maybe a small bar. I wouldn't expect to see a Pro DJ making big $$$$ to show up with this LOL.
    Keep the reviews coming it's always fun to get different views on products. I love all the youtubers you mentioned. It's difficult for them because on one hand you have to point out the good and bad on products but do it in such a way and not "trash" the product.

    Thank you for this review. I am looking to buy a 2 channel controller. I have VDJ premium, I would like to utilize stems. I though T7 would be a good option, but I am looking for more professional unit in a compact size. Any suggestions? I've used to own Denon MC6000 and MC7000.

    Well, that sucks. Good thing I didn’t get it, I was close though. Hercules had a shot to make something really good. Nice size and price, but quality wasn’t there. Beginner controller or not, it’s still $800. Beginner controllers from other brands are $300 give or take. Maybe they’ll fix it on the next version of the T7. So I’ll stick to Pioneer. It’s always been solid for me the past couple decades.

    I appreciate your honesty. I wasn't unsure what to get between the Tractor S3 or Hercules T7. After days of research you've help me decide on what controller suits me best. After 30 years in the DJ industry and used so many units, I wanted something reliable, and definitely, you made my mine up. The winner is Tractor s3 controller! This clip was incredible and interesting. I honor 🎖 you for your outstanding presentation. Best of luck with your upcoming gigs. You're awesome 👌 I also hear some negative reviews on the T7. What would you think about the Tractor s3 controller? It was released 5 years ago buy I feel is a but more reliable. The only down fall is that it doesn't have a power button, not sure if that would be a big deal .😮

    So.. with the other slipm mats did you solve the problem with back spin? Thank's for the video!!!

    • @DJDUMusic
      @DJDUMusic  7 месяцев назад

      Yes the other slip mats are much better for back spinning! Kinda have to do the right combination of slip mats and which side of the vinyl you use

    • @JBSessionss
      @JBSessionss 5 месяцев назад

      It's not a "problem". It's common with vinyl. The disk/platter/vinyl/what ever you want to call it is not 100 percent flat which makes it backspin faster on one side. Bend it (carefully - talking out of experience) and it should be solved. Now I don't own this T7 but I heard the default slipmats suck anyway so that would be the first thing I would replace.
