I'd rather have a Christopher Ward than a Bremont. I prefer the CW designs and I think they offer more features and design for the money. However, don't get any watch that you think has shortcomings. It'll just end up sitting in the watch box never being worn after the honeymoon period. Remember, the most expensive watch to own is the one that never gets worn!
Hello from NZ. Loving your Channel. You asked for our opinion, so If you had to choose one I would choose the Terra Nova BECAUSE I think it wood look more sophisticated on you. 3K is a whack of cash of course! (Or maybe buy neither and remind yourself of your other watch goals and check if you havent gotten off the path?)
This watch is totally secondary and impersonal, looks like a SanMartin with a UK branding, cheap movement and bracelet taken from Breitling. This watch shouldn't cost more than £700, for that money you'd be better off picking up something more valuable and recognisable on the secondary market.
I agree with your opinion. Mr. Boswell at the end of the day if you really like the watch and you can afford it, you should get it. I do like both and they’re very nice but like you said, the movements are pretty questionable but at the same time can be repaired anywhere. The divers watch look amazing on that steel bracelet but it does need a deployant clasp. I say this because I have many pin clasps and it just feels cheaper. I prefer to get a deployant on rubber straps because they satisfy me more. I hope you make a good decision!
I have the Terra Nova. It runs 10s fast a day, has no screw down crown and only a 38hr power reserve. Quite hard to justify the price. That said I love it and wear it all the time.
Steer well clear. You’ll lose about 80% of the RRP if you sell. Possibly more. I don’t like the rebranding, I don’t like the designs, the prices are too high. If you’re looking at micro brands….take a look at Baltic. They have a shop in London and new releases Thursday.
Squale isn't considered a microbrand by the watch industry Brendan. They are a legacy Swiss manufacturer deeply rooted in the dive watch industry for many decades that changed ownership when their Italian distributor bought the brand. They are not a resurrected brand or microbrand like Bremont. I'd rather own a Squale than a Bremont purely for the heritage aspect.
Hi Brendan. I first came across Bremont about 12 years ago. Weirdly when visiting a small, but very nice market town in the south of England. In a back street a small local jewellers had them, and I recall Rolex as the main displays in the window (odd combo I thought, but hey...). But this was before a lot of the Rolex hype of course. At the time I liked Omega, and a Sea master 300 professional was readily purchasable at just under £2k I seem to remember. These Bremont's at the time were for sale for at least the same. In fact I think more (£2.5k maybe)!? They had then a very much Aircraft theme then. That was their big thing. I thought they looked a bit gaudy and lumpy tbh. But some seemed OKish. But researching them then. It seemed they were distinctly over priced for what they were tbh. When you think what an Omega or. Quality Rolex then went for.... Their pricing seemed way OTT. The movements were even then pretty bog standard, with reports of poor accuracy etc. I steered clear tbh. But now if I want to investigate a smaller brand, I would do some work on the more credible (to me) English brand CW, or for the pilot the theme. The German brand Sinn. Sinn for example use the ETA derived Selita movements I believe. But in some cases the top grade 300s. Plus they then regulate them in house. As you said making them workable on also by any good watch maker, but also a likely better regulated and derived unit to start with? I think you get a lot more for your money with them or say CW than Bremont to my understanding. Those guys after a management change I think pitch themselves still it seems well above the watches capabilities. So still a pass for me I am afraid, but perhaps a couple of other more interesting smaller brands as a suggestion perhaps? Cheers.
Hello brenny from a fellow ☘️ Love the channel. I picked up me first R this week a 126300 Wimbledon 41 mm. 2019 . Paid 7.1 queens for it. How did i do? Also it was my first one so i was just glad to get one
Bremont recently rebranded, away from propellers to this more generic symbol, watch, with the founders exited from the door this year. It has gone from being run by enthusiasts to being run by Venture capitalists. I'd look at some of the older models, (ie not this year with the compass symbol) I lie, I just wouldnt buy tbh, especially this latest soulless incarnation.
I'd sooner spend my money even if it's a grand more on a christopher ward Twelve X cost certified, in house movement, titanium grade 2 and 5, skeletonized, 120 hour power reserve (twin barrel) 100m water resistant, globolight wedge at 12. And designed by the great watch designer William Brackfield? I think?£4120 on titanium bracelet, £3750 on rubber? Just a thought Brendon?
I would do a little more research on Bremont if I were you but at the end of the day it's your choice and you buy what you like. As for deployment and deployant, in the watch industry for some reason they use both terminologies.
I visited the Bremont store in Birmingham and again very helpful staff - I viewed the SuperMarine 300 with matt balck finish which on 1st impressions seemed nice watch and fitted wrist perfectly. However when I decided to wind the watch up and set it the movement was very poor and felt cheap compared to Omega , Rolex , Breitling and even Tudor so I decided to walk away . I haven't regretted not buying the watch so I would suggest revisit as we all like shiny new watches in the shop but re try would be good option
@@richardbrown8099 Sorry as you had mentioned Tudor in the video , I was just comparing, and yes my Tudor GMT is fantastic movement but you will feel a difference between those manufactures and Bremont
Just by looking at the design, I say the supermarine looks better because the terra nova looks too big infact looks like it's for very old gentlemen who can't read the time that well thats why it has massive numerals 😅
As to your question for me to buy both I’ve answered you, are you going to keep adding more? Can you not be happy with me taking time out of my day to reply and move on?
You like it, but it’s not singing. You already have doubts so leave it a month. If you still want it go in for a decent discount. Resale will be poor. I certainly wouldn’t .There are Omegas and Brietlings out there.
Save your money and buy something you are passionate about (and i know you can do passion 😂) I dont feel the excitement coming from you for either option, so it's a PASS
I like the hydroconquest gmt. It’s 41mm lots of strap options as well as the bracelet. Similar price range as the Bremont with a bit of cash back in your pocket.
The problem with both of these Bremont’s is that if you know the original Supermarine and Terra Nova … then these two pieces pale in comparison. Frankly, they’re aggressively mediocre by comparison to their original versions.
Personally I wouldn't put that kind of money into a Bremont. The company has lost bucketloads of money and so will the models you've shown. Honest opinion, they also look too big on your wrist! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that but for me they are Fugly!!
Personally I wouldn’t buy a Bremont. If you’re looking for something different from a micro type brand, take a look at Fortis or Squale or Nevada Grenchen. All Swiss, different and underrated.
I think a nice Timex would suit you much better. Or one of those Mickey Mouse watches.
Someone should move on to pastures new!
You should be at 100,000 subscribers by now. A sub 10,000 subscribers channel doesn’t do you justice. Keep up the good work!
Maybe one day! Plus I’ve not bought Sub’s like a certain lady! Appreciate your support. Real me do wear Panerai ☘️🫡

Good choice!
I’ve had 3 bremonts from before rebrand. Very nice and good watches but very expensive. I waited to Xmas until they were on sale by 20 percent.

NORQIAN looks like a nice brand. It's got some great looking watches.
My opinion. Don't touch. Overpriced by £1000. Second watch , limit design. You will regret it.

Real men still wear PANERAI! It’s a greet thing you’re diversifying your channel. Ginault is pretty solid as a Submariner alternative.
Each to their own Brendan but imho think rubber straps etc cheapens watches. At least have steel Bracelets.🤔

My Tudor gmt winds smoother than my Rolex single red seadweller.

I had a similar experience winding the movement I thought I had broken it when I struggled to get the winding crown to lock in properly ☘️
I see why you would choose those two. I like both but if I had to choose only one, I would go for the diver
