thank you!!! i started printing a grid that ended up being a remix that uses this mod. i wasn’t planning on adding this mod, and i didn’t really understand how to install this when i saw the model on printables. thank you so much for sharing, looks quite simple!
I did this mod and it's great to look at, only problem is that there is no setting adjustment for the camera brightness, so the videos are all bleached out.
Yeah, I wish Bambu gave some controls over the camera. If you turn the lights on prior to starting the print, the camera will adjust automatically to the new brighter lights
@@RadDadsPrintLab Really that's interesting thank you. The first time I tried printing with the lights on, I got a Lidar error so since then I've not been turning them on until the job it on the way. I'll try again with them on from power up.
Thank you so much for this video and for the link to the files! I was so shocked that there were barely any lights in this thing and wished it was brighter as I've seen other brands with much brighter interiors (i.e. the Ultimaker). I like to be able to see what I'm printing from far away without sticking my face in the glass (yes I know I can use the camera, but still) and this looks like it will do the trick! 😊
Do they make IR LED strips? If so, you could install the IR strip, and you could still see well on the camera feed, and it should not affect anything else. Right?
Update: PLA Worked for quite some time, but PETG or a more temperature resistant material may work better for you. Whats Your Favorite Upgrade for your Printer?
Thanks, it looks cool! Can I ask you a couple questions? Why didn't you choose a different reiser, which allows you, besides adding light, to organize in the reiser openable mini doors for better ventilation, which is required for some filaments? And second question, you didn't glue the TPU gaskets on? Yes, I realize that as long as they are pressed down by the lid they won't go anywhere, but still. If you glue them on, what glue would be best? I've tried gluing TPU to PETG models once, the experience was generally positive, but not very good.
So Far its been fine. I did damage it a little by sticking something between the riser and the glass lid and leaving it their for awhile. But Other than that its been without issue.
Great Video, Thank You. One question: With your light set Power Supply is it both 110-220v as I live in Europe. BTW I just subscribed to your channel ( Forget about checking I will just order an LED set from Europe )
Unrelated question but did your printer come with that 'Marvin' label on it or did you add that ? I've been noticing most X1's I see on youtube have a label similar with a different name on it !
I added it myself. It helps me keep track of my two printers. I named them after characters from "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". Since you can see the name of the printer in Bambu Studio, it makes it really helpful.
Bruh i just downloaded/Printed this and the Frame joints are so lose it just falls apart when you lift. if you do such an upgrade it would be nice to mention that the joints are shit or straight up chose a diffrent riser model. Now i waisted my nice RED PLA+
Nice one! Wondering if any custom PCBs or CNC's metal parts may help for any upcoming upgrade work? Would love to sponsor and reach any collab together! (PCBWay zoey)
@@Mac_Choudhry i know thats why im saying it :D the port also is on the top so u can easy connect it... i dont have led yet but do they auto turn on with the printer when usb gets power or do they turn on with the normal light controll?
Thanks for the video. I just installed mine with the new lights and it's great. (It's night and day you could say).
Haha, It really is!

Thanks for the video! Just ordered LED-lights and printing the frame now!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks great! Just ordered the lights and I'm printing the frame right now. Thanks! This is exactly what this printer needs.
Hope your enjoying the upgrade 👍
@@RadDadsPrintLab Oh it's beautiful. Can never go back.
About the lidar. Is it just an assumption that the extra light interferes with the lidar or has it been confirmed?
bump for this because it seems unlikely this would interfere.

I looked down at the sub count expecting over 100k and was very surprised, Great video

how do you power them? external usb? or is it spare voltage somewhere?
External Power
@@RadDadsPrintLab this should have been mentioned initially. Thanks

If it could potentially get hot enough to recommend PETG for the frame, won't that then be too hot for the TPU gasket?
Great but where did you plug the led USB ?
Thanks
These lights plug into standard power.
@@RadDadsPrintLab thank you very much for your help 😀. Have a nice day
I doubt they will affect the lidar unless they are shinning direct to the build plate.
Concise and very informative and well explained. Subscribed. Don't forget me when you get huge! Kidding aside, awesome video.
Much appreciated!
Can u still have the AMS on top of the glass? Or will it break?
Yup, You can still have your AMS on top.
But how do you power it
just runs off a normal wall outlet.
Toss an Alexa enabled switch and tell those lights what to do =P
Those lights in the corners are horrible. I saw somewhere there is a frame that has extra room in those corners. Any ideas where I saw it?

Never thought about glueing it. I Probably should. I saw some of the other risers after I did this. I do Like the simplicity of this one.

not for the lights, just for printing petg or pla
Just stumbled upon this video randomly. Great presentation and very informative. I hope your channel will grow.👍

what color temp on the LED strip matches the existing bambu led? 6000k?
Im not sure to be honest

brighter led messes with lidar no?
It can, thats why i mention it in the video 👍
He mentioned it in the video...
First layer inspection isn’t working correctly with this led mod too. I have to install a switch for it…
So far ive been pretty lucky. Only seen an error once so far.

Bruh? Once you install the parts you don’t take them on and off. It’s only there to lineup the parts together to get it installed.
This is by far the most helpful video for this awesome upgrade ! What a huge difference this makes!
Glad it was helpful!

Hi Zoey! Ill shoot you an email.
i dont understand why so many ppl use a external power supply for the light upgrade....
It’s just easier
There's a USB port inside mine. I use that.
