I’ve watched all of your videos , that’s so impressive , cause now a lot of Vietnamese American or Vietnamese European come back to their home land . I’m so proud of that Vietnam is more attractive to u ,guys , i accepted most of your opinions but sometime we have to look back our history , we overcame 4 tremendous wars against US FR CN …etc . It was not a easy time, right ? Sometimes i just wonder if we didn’t have to confront all of that stuff . What is our country look like . War led to low education , low education led to illiterate and low educated people .just be generous to them, forgiveness , we still have a bunch of things to tackle , to solve , to iron out . I know living in another country is hard , all of your family and u came through discrimination or racism . Cause i’m living abroad now . Just sympathy . Thanks for your candid sharing . Sincere appreciation . All of u guys are so pretty and educated .
Yes we agree with you…we hope to share our experiences so Vietnamese locals and Vietnamese overseas would understand each other better. Going through all the wars I think Vn people are so resilient, witty and hard working. We’re glad to be able to learn from the older generation.
The first time i was here is throwback year 2004 when i was working in a new Tan Son Nhat International airport as senior engineer. Before Vietnam is just a very simple beautiful city without many high rise building. But now wo...wow anywhere you go like in Saigon or in Hanoi you have an amazing cities presently. I know how Vietnam was develop because i was working in infrastructure development here in Vietnam. This time young generation is more lucky than before.

Thanks for sharing. I went back to Vietnam for the 1st time since we left Vietnam as war refugee. As VNCH military officer family I thought that I will not or want to come back to Vietnam and here I am!! I came back and even bought a house in Hue so that I can live in both Vietnam and the US.

I came across your channel - absolutely accidentally, yet I am really interested in your topics. As a Vietnamese who was born just a few years after the war ended, I experienced all the hardship that Vietnam has gone through to be what it is now. People of my age used to go to school with an empty stomach, struggling day by day with all the stuff in life, to acquire as much knowledge as possible. We hoped to get a better life, particularly in relation to finance, NOT to show overseas Vietnamese what we could be. Luckily, the vast majority of us shared almost the same interest and targets. The country has made much progress in all fields, and we are happy to see you, beautiful young overseas Vietnamese, come back to home country and share your thoughts. I have a firm belief that you all will enjoy your relaxing life in Vietnam, and hope that your RUclips will develop fast in the near future. Keep it up, ladies. 💕👍

I didn't returned to VN for almost 40 years. After my first visit, I was planning my second visit. Had to cancel my 3rd visit due to Covid in early 2020. Planning to retire early and move back to VN to live and travel SE Asia. Thanks for the video.

I had to cancel my trip twice within the last 1.5 year due to this pandemic. I hope/pray that I will be able to visit summer of 2022. Great video and I recognized Nhi in this video. I agree with you that Vietnam 🇻🇳 is always changing. I am a Danang resident and see the City changing every day. Street facilities are heavily invested by the Government and the City government. We sympathize with progressive thinkers like you, and disagree with all those in the old regime (Vnch). ) always think bad about Country. The Communist Party is doing a great job to develop the country even though there are still corrupt elements inside. They are trying to get rid of those elements. Have the opportunity to hope that you can travel around Vietnam to reflect. honest real development of🇻🇳
Vietnam is not bad for the expats as long as you don't make any political statements. Vietnam is not China therefore people are not too much brainwashed like the Chinese so let s hope Vietnamese government keeps it that way e.g free and open internet. The only annoying thing in Vietnam is you need money status. People judge on material things. What about marrying local dudes?

i'm not looking down upon my people but for sure i left Q10 P4 377 ba hat in 1975 that i think i can't live like that anymore it's just sooo differ than i live in NYC for more than 4 decades now. i went back to visit vn for for than 3 times & all 3 times i have never done street/alley vendors only nice restaurants cuz i guess i know/we too much 'bout ve sinh or what not overthere; even when i was in vn truoc 75 we didn't live inside alley/duong hem cuz hem back then the rumor was only ppl with epilepsy living inside there. therefore, back then i never went inside any alleyways. next year i'm retire early & i'm pretty i only travel there for fun but not to engage in any activities no more than 3 wks cuz too humid i can take the heat & things are totally i'm not awared of any longer.
I believe these viet kieu ladies date or are married with westerners - or viet kieu guys?- ; can't hardly imagine them with local vietnamese guys. for what i saw here in VN, local guys have a different mind that might not suit the vietkieu..
@@phalecassady86 Thks for the reply :).. i am asian and living in VN at this moment, and i indeed observed that local guys have different expectations concerning their girlfriend/partner; they will see vietkieu women as "foreigner". The guys have definitely a different mindset, codes and traditions. Beside that , It's good you came back to VN!!.
@@andreandree4384 We seen and heard some rare cases that the women dated and married local guys. Some of the local guys are wealthy and can date foreigners. You are correct about the majority of these ladies.
Great question…tax is actually similar to the US however people’s income isn’t clear. On paper you’re making X but really you get Y from commission, gifts etc hehe
For salaries there is a tiered system, 5% after 0-5 million per month up to 35%+ at the top end 80m+ per month - but this is just based on declared income and not bribes, obviously! There is also corporation tax, capital gains tax, but a lot of corruption goes on both at individual side and at the revenue office! Aaaaand, as with every country if you have the money you can afford the best accountants and they find the tax loopholes.
@@phalecassady86 I am a resident of the country and as far as I know, the Government hardly collects wages for workers or only collects personal taxes for high-income earners. They only collect taxes from businesses. If you are self-employed or open a small restaurant, there is almost no tax.

VN has very wealthy people but a lot are still living in squalor and their hardship is pervasive.
So that why it's called an emerging country dear ; there is no middle class yet!!..
Anyway, to judge a country by how many expensive cars people own while ignoring how few rights the poor has......that is sad.
