Back in '73, when I was 5-6 years old, I was convinced that it wasn't really Christmas until my dad pulled the two Nat "King" Cole Christmas albums out and put them on the turntable. It was the most expensive thing in the house, that sound system, and it was a strong automatic changing type. Every hour we would flip the LPs over and play the second sides. I've always associated Nat's voice with Christmas. Thanks for doing this particular song!
i used to see his brother...he played in a local Atlanta bar for years.....we became acquainted....super guy....sounded like Nat.....good jazz pianist......
It's not Christmas until you hear those first few notes of this song. And then, of course, Nat King Cole's magnificent voice singing the perfect Christmas song. Still and always, my favorite singer of all time.
Maggie thank you for your reactions to Nat King Cole and his classic Christmas song, The Christmas Song. It was great to hear it again and ask yourself how wonderful that Nat's voice and The Christmas Song do marsh perfect together.
Sweet! brilliant! Thank you. AND, your Christmas atmosphere, little settings and touches, characters, and you, are adorable. That is not just my favorite Christmas Song, the recording is my favorite Christmas performance by the incomparable Nat King Cole. I may have sung this song a thousand times - and it's a seasonal Christmas song . . . . Cheers and Happy New Year, Maggie.
Nat King Cole was magic. Two of my faves are Lazy Crazy days of summer and Mona Lisa. Nat singing Christmas music is an absolute must every year along with Bing Crosby. Thanks Maggie. Have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. You look extra adorable in your Santa hat btw.
This video was made in 1961 but Cole earlier recorded the song with strings in 1946. I remember hearing it around Christmas over the years, playing on that little brown Bakelite tube radio. I am pleased that there is still an audience for this kind of music and very pleased that it made Maggie's heart happy! 🥰 Pengu seemed to enjoy it too. 🎅 Really good reaction and editing.
Great song by a great singer. It’s sad that you can’t say merry Christmas to people anymore. I said merry Christmas to someone at the supermarket the other day and got a death stare in return.
NO DOUBT! Best XMAS song of all time on my XMAS list!! GRACIAS=THANK U so much for this classic as always providing such a genuine passIonate reaction thats why Im faithful to ur channel always ....MERRY XMAS & HAPPY NEW YEARS from ur amigo ALBERTO
Of course, Nat King Cole, who else has this smooth voice? I was literally hypnotized listening, but it was too short!! Glad that your heart was happy, Maggie and thank you Mike for this!! 🎅🎅
When my mom was a little girl, she got to sit at the piano with Mel Tormé and sing this song with him. My grandfather was laying carpet in Mel's home, and had to bring my mom along because it was summer. Mel loved kids, and had a wonderful time keeping her distracted.
This performance and Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” give me goosebumps, especially on certain notes they hit, combined with the timbre of their voices…it’s irresistible. I love how Nat enunciates every syllable, as if he’s ensuring there’s no chance the lyrics are misinterpreted.
This is the kind of song/voice that might actually achieve peace on earth if it were played everywhere -- even in places where people don't speak English!
I’m a violinist and I just love good music in general without having a preference for genre. My preference is just talent for SOMETHING: music, lyrics, an instrument, inspiring feelings, idk, I just don’t really like music that’s popular just because and not because it’s good lol. So I’m suggesting Lacuna Coil “Enjoy the Silence” or the second choice of “Our Truth”. It’s a goth metal band that’s just beautiful. And since you liked Type O Negative so much I think you’d like them as well as Type O Negative’s later music like “Everything Dies” or “September Sun”, if you’d like to hear some crazy layers of sound you can try listening to “Green Man” but you’ll have to listen more than once to catch everything they’re doing. “Love You to Death” was one of their earlier songs when they were just really starting to see how good they could be.
I've always loved Nat King Cole! I was 11 years old when he sang that song! He had such a beautiful voice! Please react to him and his late daughter, Natalie Cole (She and I shared a birthday!), sing "Unforgettable" in a duet. Thank you for reacting to this classic!
I grew up listening to Nat King Cole, and Jimmy Dean, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior, Paul Anka, yeah... I could go on forever. Sorry Maggie! Forgot Frank Sinatra... ooops. I'll try to make your next live show.
Hey Maggie, after you did hoist the colors the same day I asked for it, I know the universe is on my side. So, let's try it again. Dan's Vasc rendition of "BURN butcher burn" from the Witcher series. Dan is a Brazilian singer with a lot of covers on his channel. I tell ya, he's gonna be BIG soon...
Thank you for another B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L reaction. Nat was the King and had many hits. Nat was an early influence on Ray Charles before he found his own style. If you haven't already watched it, you need to check out the movie biography Ray, which starred Jamie Foxx in the lead. The director didn't know that Jamie had studied classical piano in college when he was cast for the part. Jamie ended up doing his own singing and piano playing for the movie. He also wore prothesis which made him effectively blind during the whole filming. Ray Jr. and Quincy Jones said it was uncanny how much Jamie looked, sounded, and acted like Ray.
hope you can help me Maggie, have you ever heard of an opera singer by the name of Byreen Blacksmith, she was active in the middle 70's at the Augsburg Opera House? Thank... not sure if she is alive now, she would be in 70's.... LOL, how about that.... : >)
please please please check this one out it's very short i really want your option Diana Ankudinova at "ShowMASKgoon" - "Can't Help Falling in love" please do this for me ps.she just doesn't sing she uses her voice as an instrument

Charisma! Class! Ultra Cool!

Nat King Cole is one of those singers who even in his era was unique. His style is outside of any genre but is recognizable no matter what he sings.🎅
Yep the old classic singers like nat king Cole were the best and hello again Maggie the night has spoken lights out

Love this, one of the best, Nat King Cole 🎅
Great song by a great singer. It’s sad that you can’t say merry Christmas to people anymore. I said merry Christmas to someone at the supermarket the other day and got a death stare in return.
I still say Merry Christmas.
Screw them. You're wishing love, peace, and prosperity on someone regardless of religion or beliefs. THEY have the problem, not you.

Produced by the late, great Ralph Carmichael. One of my life highlights was being able to shake Ralph's hand at a conference many years ago.
🎄🧑🎄Brings back memories of Christmas past.🧑🎄🎄 Loved the reaction Maggie!
Of course, Nat King Cole, who else has this smooth voice? I was literally hypnotized listening, but it was too short!! Glad that your heart was happy, Maggie and thank you Mike for this!! 🎅🎅
The most spectacular interpretation of the Christmas song "O Holy Night" Brazilian singer Gabriel Henrique.
When my mom was a little girl, she got to sit at the piano with Mel Tormé and sing this song with him. My grandfather was laying carpet in Mel's home, and had to bring my mom along because it was summer. Mel loved kids, and had a wonderful time keeping her distracted.
Wait. The same Mel Torme who sang John Williams arrangement of Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas from Home Alone? I like that!
Maggie you are so adorable. Such a positive personality and your always smiling. You remind me so much of my little sister.
This is the kind of song/voice that might actually achieve peace on earth if it were played everywhere -- even in places where people don't speak English!
I also love the bass in this song. It's epic. Along with the voice and the strings.
Me too!
You might like his "For sentimental reasons"...

Hi BEAUTIFUL!😊 Do you like Bing Crosby? I absolutely LUV his Christmas music....😁
Certain songs "belong" to a singer. This is one of them. I've heard others sing this, but absolutely nobody does it better.
Very sweet. Thank you! 😊💖
hope you can help me Maggie, have you ever heard of an opera singer by the name of Byreen Blacksmith, she was active in the middle 70's at the Augsburg Opera House? Thank... not sure if she is alive now, she would be in 70's.... LOL, how about that.... : >)
Muito bom 😄
Great Christmas song by Nat King Cole. Nature Boy is a good one too. Burl Ives or Andy Williams would be nice to react to. Thank you.
LOL I'm probably the only person in the comments who actually knows who Brul Ives and Andy Williams were without having to google them.
