I used to wear my hair this way all the time when I was relaxed. It retained my length well as long as I kept my ends moisturized. We used the same donut when I was in the military to make our buns. We used to also make them out of socks. Just cut off the toe 😂.
When I was relaxed and in grad school , I wore the heck out of buns with a rolled up sock

I use mostly botanical gels now, but when I used ecostyler, it definitely broke my edges off. I had to resort to using leave ins and creams tied down with a scarf .

Hi, how did you remove your locks. Do you think the ends of your got damage during the unlocking process?
With a rat tail comb. I think that with all the raking through my ends to make sure all the tangles were gone and shed hair was removed did play a part in the ends of my hair getting ruined as well.
I use to wear buns all the time but it broke my hair off so badly. I big chopped and I'm growing out my hair. Twist will be my beastie

I remove it some nights other nights I move the bun to the top of my hair like a unicorn.
