- For todays video I am installing an Overland Equipped Aux Power kit for the 3rd gen Tacoma. The full kit comes with the OE Aluminum bracket, mounting hardware, Blue Sea Sysytems 12 Circuit ST Blade Block, a Blue Sea System 100 Amp 187 Series Panel Mount Thermal Circuit breaker, and pre terminated power and ground cables cut to length. The Full kit is well made and well put together. You really cant ask for much better than Blue Sea Systems. The install was straight forword and easy. Now I'm ready to start adding lights, while keeping the engine bay clean. Thanks for watching. Links below.

I just did mine a week ago. I love their bracket. It makes it easier to purchase the entire electrical set up with them instead of getting it separate. Your going to pay the same amount but your helping out small businesses.
For sure, I could not agree more. Thanks for watching.
I ordered the same kit a few weeks ago, but I have yet to install it. While ordering, I felt for the price it was a good deal. Although being an Electronic Technician, I am very leery about passing wires through a metal plate without protecting the wire. So to clean things up, I bought some boots for the relay connections, added some color coded sleeves to help protect the wires, and I also extended that short power cable going from the relay to the fuse block. And since I extended that cable, I flipped the fuse block where the positive is closer to the firewall and the ground is closer to the battery. Now I just need to give it a light sanding and paint it black with some high heat paint. What I did may be a little overkill, but I rather be safe than sorry. Regardless, it's a good video. I believe you are the 1st one I've seen on YT that bought the whole kit and did the install, as most people just buy the plate.
That sounds amazing, well done. I had the same concern with the cables going through the bracket, however, it seems as though there will be no movement. So I felt better after the install. Thanks for watching.
I had the same thoughts about the slots, they are extremely sharp edges so I filed them on all side and added extra heat shrink protection 🤙🏽
Do you have any photos posted?
Exactly what I wanted. This allows you to save a grip of $$ over the switch pro (that I can use on light bar and winch). I'm fine with OEM switches.
Thanks for watching.
Your videos are on point. Thanks for taking the time to document what you do. Subbed. 👍🏻
I really appreciate the kind words, thank you.
It's 5/16 on one side and 3/8 on the other the size of the Lug on your battery
Thanks for watching.
How about doing it right, and redoing the connectors all the same so they fit properly!
Yes they all fit properly. Thanks for watching
Maaaan do I hate having crawl control. 4lo and the e locker has been enough to get me in and outta any trouble I get myself into. Wasted space and wasted tech. Would love to yank the whole system out. A sunglass holder in the overhead panel would do me so much better than a knob that just collects dust.
Yup, I feel the same. Thanks for watching.
Do they make a relay box?
I really don't know. Reach out, they may be able to point you in the right direction.
Where is the kit for 3rd gen 4runners???😕
Give them a call, they might be able to fab one up for you. Thanks for watching.
Great 'How To' video. I will be adding this aux fuse box, I will also be adding an oil catch can. Do you have any suggestion as to where to put the oil catch can with the aux fuse box installed? I could relocate either, I'm just trying to figure out the best layout for both.
This specific Aux Panel is made to fit in this location. Depending on the which oil catch can you purchase, I have only seen them installed on the left side of the brake booster.(left side as you are looking at it from from where you open the hood) I do not see them interfering with each other. Hope that helps, thanks for watching and the kind words.
@@ClassyTacos Copy that. I have only seen them (oil catch can) mounted drivers side behind the main fuse box. I'll keep searching online and looking in my own engine bay. Thanks for the reply.
The JLT can sits as I mentioned.
Awesome! So this is where you run your lower voltage accessories and keep it nice and clean?
Yes sir, all run to the Aux box. Thanks for watching.
Followed you for the usb install then the front facing camera and here I am again. Excellent as work as always!!
I have a question for anybody that might know... I have ditch lights and the switch has an add a fuse. The only place I know to use on the fuse panel is where my fog lights already have an add a fuse. So Instead of the add a fuse could the wire from the switch be ran to the fuse block?
Thanks for watching. Lets start off by making sure of something, the ditch light fuse you speak of. Is it an add a fuse or an inline fuse? Can you link here the kit you bought so I can see it.
@@ClassyTacos it's one of the cheap nilight wiring harnesses. I needed a second add a fuse location under the dash. I just wasn't thinking right. Lol thanks anyway man!
@@TheMr.George No worries.
@@ClassyTacos @Classy Tacos I drove all the way down to Ft. Pierce yesterday (a little bit of a trip for me) just to grab that fuse block. Only thing I did different was build my own tray for the breaker and fuse block it seems like it'll hold up okay. Thanks as always for the clear to the point instructional bro.
With this distribution block, do you still have to add relays somewhere in line to the accessories? I see some of the more expensive units use electronic distribution, therefore eliminating the need for relays.
Short answer is yes, I would have to. So far all of the electrical add ons I have installed had their own relay pre installed in the wire loom from the manufacture. Thanks for watching.
I know it's been years since you installed the Blue Sea, just wondering did you do cut the relay?
Thanks for watching. I'm not sure what you're asking? I did not cut a relay.
@@ClassyTacos When you were wiring the BluecSea
@@billocampo1365 the blue see came out of the package wired up. Get me a time stamp on the video and I’ll track down what you’re asking. Thanks
@@ClassyTacos it's a video you posted 3 years ago, RUclips posted 2017
@@billocampo1365 Yes, get me the time stamp in the video so I know where to look for you. Pause it where you are asking about, and put up the time so I can look it up.
Cool vid! Was the bracket bent during shipping.
Thank you. Yes, I believe it was bent during the shipping. After a little massaging. It installed great with no issues. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the video super helpful I gotta clean up my wiring!! Quick question if you had an accessory with an inline fuse directly to the battery and after you do the fuse box install and connect that accessory to the box instead can you leave the original inline fuse on the wire that is now connected to the fuse box (with another new fuse)?
I would say yes. You will end up with 2 fuses for protection. One in the box, one in line. Make sure they at least match amperage on the fuse. My LED light bar is set that way. Thanks for watching.
@@ClassyTacos would the Amp rating still be the same as 1 fuse ? For a 20 amp fuse for example would it be rated at 20 amps or 40 since there are now 2?
Each fuse would be 20 to keep the same protection.
I just hit up Overland Equipt and they said they had not heard of any issues with the TRD OR models and the crawl control brake fluid reservoir. Do you recall where you heard that was an issue?
It's a known issue. It even says to be extra careful on the install instructions. You can look up the install instructions on their web page for the 3rd Gen Aux Box, kind of bottom right of the page, red lettering under important. Read step 6 on the install instructions. Let me know if you find what I'm talking about.
@@ClassyTacos Ok yes the brake sensor wires is what you were talking about. Got that! Good video. I should be installing mine this weekend and getting the Baja's and HAM radio all hooked up!
@@Donkarnage223 good luck with your install, and thanks for watching
@@ClassyTacos Thanks I am all set to go. Just waiting on the blade fuse pack and I can do the install Sunday. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos!
How do I wire it to a switch in the cab for like ditch lights?
From the box you would run the switch harness section of the wiring harness into the cab.
