You will never find another talent like Angelina Jordan in our lifetimes. The full impact of this girl's talent comes when one watches as she closes her eyes and reinvents these lyrics so that she owns them, and they become ambrosia.
I'm always surprised when I come across another classic cover by Angelina that I've never heard before.
And I, who DID hear this way back in the 70. as Lou Rawls first did it, am no less stunned and surprised as our angel surch this one up, and takes me right bach to those days with this flabbergastingly impressive performance. 😮🤩

Some have coined her the girl with a thousand voices. That was one of them. 🙂 The song is a perfect example of how she grabs hold of the message of love in the song and makes you believe she has experienced the storyline of the song when you listen to her sing. And how she mastered her way around the song track was incredible and you got to hear a great example of her artistry at work. No one like her.
I'm from that era and I had to look up the artist. It was Lou Rawls who had the iconic hit. I liked Angelina's take on this and admire her clever use of whispering to imply a few of those low notes. There are two items on my wish list, both production notes: 1) I wanted some deep reverb on Angelina's voice, so that it didn't sound like she was singing two inches from my ear; 2) The backing track could have been a little louder, to give some context for Angelina's improvised inserts on the chorus. Her musical instincts are legendary, as always. Great reaction, Britt!
Angelina is the master of that slow, mesmerising tone with its touch of melancholy and hint of life's world-weariness combined with some sort of redemption. You'll never find another talent like this.

At the age of 13, Angelina Jordan recorded some beautiful videos. It seems that they were made in a familiar place (one assumes by seeing paintings of her grandmother hanging on the walls of the room where she is). Among these videos are "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", "Someone Like You", "Welcome to my world", "You Make Me Feel So Young", "Moon River", and "You Never Find Another Love Like Me" which you are broadcasting today. Another remark : there is something dizzying to consider the number of recordings made by AJ when, as you do, you present one every day. What this little girl has memorized as music from a very young age is wonderful. Thank you and congratulations for your initiative.
The great Lou Rawls performed this classic with all the great atmosphere of the era. Angelina's genius is being able to time travel with texture and breath to create the exact feel of a time gone bye. I continue to marvel at Angelina's musical intellect.

I just love this performance which, for some reason, doesn't get many reactions. Lou Rawls had a big hit with this which I loved in my youth. Angelina transports me back to those days with this updated interpretation. She is literally a "Musical Time Machine," that's what she does!

Lou Rawls, in his deep, gravelly voice gave us this love song. AJ does amazing for a young lady on this one, it's just impossible for her to reach those depths, not that it's required to have an enjoyable song. Recommend you listen since you heard a takeoff and remember it after all this time.

So now I like his and Angelina's version. I agree with what you said. The contrast between Angelina's voice, her intimate style telling us a story to us with the background in the more upbeat disco tempo. You she should react to Angie covering Gloria Gaynor's song 🎵 "I will survive". It was a Grammy winning disco song from around the same era as the Lou Rawls song. Great reaction again, my friend!:-) as far as who sings this, it was Lou Rawls, and incredibly interestingly, he died less than a week before she was born! I found that out when I was researching, for fun, who she could be the reincarnation of. It seems she's an amalgamation of multiple artists reincarnated, but it's really cool that she happens to be born just a few days after Lou Rawls died. Anyway I always loved that song and after I learned about Angelina, I always had wanted her to sing it and then a little while later proof she did, and then I did my research and found out the above information about the death and birth coincidence. Anyway hope you find this information cool, and keep doing great reactions!

You’re definitely one of my favorite reactors. You do a great job! Never heard Carlton’s version but you owe it to yourself to listen to Lou Rawls version. This is about the only song that AJ has covered that I like the original a little more.
She is wondrous. Though some art should not be copied because they will fall short of the original. She is using the original backup sound track track from one of the greatest songs, the greatest Lou Rawls. If you have not heard it you are missing an American classic.

I love the way you react to AJ! As I understand the paintings you see on the wall here, are by AJ's grandmother Mery, a well known painter! The painting you see projected in the background of "I have nothing" are by her grandmother, as is the pattern on her pantsuit. If you would have picked the right/longer "Bohemian Rapsody" on AMGT, you would see her grandmother go crazy, lower right, when AJ got the golden buzzer! I love that too. AJ and grandmother are very close! I kinda think grandma got her started in the business.
How come AJ has no songs on the top 100? I keep looking. When Adele came out with "Easy on me" it went to number 1. Two weeks after "Easy on me" came out, AJ did it better, and it went nowhere! How come?

I'm still a llittle disappointed she went breathy with this one. A few years ago, before I knew she had done this cover, it actually struck me one day coming home from work that this song would be perfect for her. When I got home, I searched YT and found out that she had indeed covered it - just not in the way I was expecting. She _could_ have sung the whole thing with the kind of resonance that peeked through just momentarily on that word "someone". Or, at least, she could have mixed that with a more natural midrange voice in the higher parts. I guess she just didn't want to do it that way. Oh, well…
IMO a very very rare miss by AJ but I guess it is way too much to ask her to top the great Mr L Rawls. Otherwise Miss AJ is cray cray. And Uber cool too.
